developing as a writer. I learned different things with each of the assignments I submitted. I learned
things like how to develop my writing and how to transition my writing to flow better together. I
learned to correctly cite in text citations and I learned how to create a profile. Each of these things I
will carry with me as I continue to write for various classes or other reasons in the future and they will

I then submitted my final draft to iNet. My topic for my research paper was technology s impact on
today s society. I talked about the positive and negative impacts technology has on our society
everyday and I was able to give evidence of my ideas with information I found when researching. I
explained that technology has helped with finding new ways to teach students including those with
disabilities and how it has helped to advance the health and medicinal field. I also explained some
downsides such as the addiction and absence of face to face interaction that come along with
technology. Each of my assignments for this class included revising and editing at the attempt to hand
in the best possible work. I made sure I read over my work before handing it in to assure that there
were little to no grammatical or spelling errors. My biggest struggle in this area was working on
transitions and organization throughout my assignments to make sure my paper flowed better as a
whole.
Conduct research, which uses traditional and electronic search techniques and integrates source
materials is the second student outcome. I used this a ton when writing my research paper as well as

I was raised in a nontraditional family, where my mother was everything due to her single parent
status, so I understand how the word family can be vague. Anything can be apart of one s family:
blood relatives, friends, and even pets. I, personally, think that family is defined as a group of

started to change since the 1970s, when the world began to see a shift in traditional family values, and

Did you know, about 57% of physicians today have received a request for physician assisted suicide
due to suffering from a terminally ill patient. Patients that are suffering, or do not have that much time
to live are given the option of going through assisted suicide. People should not be able to make the
choice of euthanasia so easily. Euthanasia is another word for assisted suicide, which is getting
prescribed help from a doctor to commit suicide. Assisted suicide should not be freely suggested, or
suggested at all. Solutions to this could be regulating assisted suicide, or even banning it. As a result of

In order to meet labor shortage in 1619, American masters recruited poor British children to work
along with American children. The children were badly treated and well worn. By the time young girls
were eight years of age, they were employed to work in the textile factories as well as cloth
manufactures. Spinning schools were created for poor children to develop an education. By the 1700

Figurative Language In The Hunted Oak And The Lynching
The poems by Paul Dunbar and Claude McKay both use figurative language in the poems the The
Hunted Oak and The Lynching . The ways that they talk about it are completely different and invoke
different feeling out of you as both writers wanted to talk about an important issue. The hunted oak
was written in 1913 and The Lynching was written in 1920 so this tells us that it was a prominent
issue at the time. Each author used different literary devices to convey their feelings and to express
themselves. Their perception of terror is the same for both but how the convey it is different. The
poems are meant to have a sense of terror and fright.
The genre of the poem The Hunted Oak is drama because the author let s all the characters speak
throughout the poem. The subject of this poem is that there is a lynching going on and the tree is
affected by the actions. The theme of this poem is that terror but not to a person but to thing. There
was a lot of forms of diction in this poem. For example, there was connotation when he said And why,
when I go through the shade you throw runs a shudder over me (Dunbar). That line also gave the
reader imagery by using the word shudder, a person can physically see someone physically
shuddering. The tone of this poem was a somber one. It just gives the reading bad feeling for the tree
at the end of the poem.
This poem is unique because it is told from the tree s perspective. Dunbar gave the tree feelings, this
can be seen here I feel the rope against my bark against my bark . The theme of the poem is terror
because the tree has conveyed emotions that make it seems that he was emotionally scarred by this
event. This can be seen in the line For I feel his curse as a haunted bough on the trunk of a haunted
tree . Also, the way that the tree describes the event as a whole brings a sense of terror. For example,
in the line I feel in the throne of his final woe the touch of my own pain. This not say that the victim
who is being lynched is taking his last breath so does the tree. This also can be perceived that the tree

Recession is only a temporary decline and depression is a long and extended period of economic

During that time in King county, there was 190 suicides and even more suicide attempts. People felt
that the was no escaping this financial struggle and thought the only way out of it was to end their
lives. There was also an increase in robberies. People would steal money from their own workplace.
People would take money from graves, burry people alive and take their jewelry, you name it. With
the economy being at its lowest point, people were taking or getting money wherever they could.

When graphic design began, it was much simpler than it is today. Most people consider graphic design
to be done only on computers and fancy operating systems, when in fact graphic design in much more
complex than that. Graphic design has its roots in early caveman drawings using stone, organic paints
and charcoal. Since these early humans had no to little verbal communication, logic dictates that they
would have to communicate instead with a plethora of symbols and graphic representations of ideas.
As time progressed, the methods of visual communication, as well as verbal communication, evolved.
Materials in graphic design became more refined such as digital or traditional printing. Some of the
milestones in graphic design were the invention of printing presses, text based design such as
Typography, molds, and computers. As new technology made the expression and sharing of art
possible, those who chose to create art formed new styles and ideas that also evolved.
Artistic molds were one of the first revolutionary things to come about in graphic design. The molds
allowed for the mass production of certain objects, letters, or shapes that would otherwise take several
hours to even days to be created. Once the molds were created, they could then be used to replicate
their shape by filing them with clay, stone, cement, ink and other artistic materials. The molds can be

Hi Brain, Yesterday I participated in an amazing webcast with one of the Governors of the Fed, Gov.
Lael Brainard. She spoke for a a good amount of time about her role at the fed and then eventually
opened it up for questions. I was able to ask about the growing opportunity in marketplace lending.
She was really interested in the question and said that she foresaw a more prominent role of this new
lending in the economy. I was also able to get her contact information (albeit behind a locked door
where I know someone who will pass along the question and the subsequent response). I wanted to

What is Obamacare?
The affordable Care Act is the US healthcare reform law. The law makes health care and health
insurance more affordable and move available to more Americans the official name is the Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act of 210, but is mostly referred to as Obamacare. This law was
signed on March 23, 2010. Originally the ACA was enacted to increase the quality and affordable of
health insurance, lower the uninsured rate by expanding public and private insurance coverage, and
reduce the costs of health care for individuals. There have been several provisions made to the act
since 2010. Within my paper I will be discussing the pros and cons of the ACA, changes that are
taking place within the act and from the standpoint of the insurance companies that offer insurance
