New silicone copolymer lubricants combine the thermal stability of phenyl siloxanes with the wear resistance of fluoro siloxanes to deliver increased wear resistance even at high temperatures. The balance of phenyl and fluoro groups can be adjusted to produce the ideal solution for each tribological challenge.
With high-temperature lubricity achieved, without sacrificing low-temperature operation, these new oils and greases function effectively in a wide range of temperatures (-35°C to 220°C) – delivering superior performance against ester based lubricants. With a lower density than PFPE lubricants, they offer lower cost-per-use and their wide additive acceptance delivers additional properties such as corrosion and oxidation resistance.

Borosilicate glass represents unmatched standardized glass for construction of plant
and piping in the chemical, dyestuff, food pharmaceutical, petrochemical industries. Its
steadily growing use is due to many advantages over conventional materials.
Aluminum piping for compressed air is a new concept which is basically using Push In fittings to join aluminum pipe. It takes a very limited amount of time and no tools are required for the same. It can be used for pressures upto 17 bar and because of the fact that all fittings and pipes are made in aluminum there is a good durability of the system and the air system remains corrosion free and leakage free for years. Owing to the beautiful system design, it becomes very easy to re-open and again assemble the fittings from the pipe so mobility is increased and it becomes very easy to dismantle an entire pneumatic system and relocate it or modify it as per the user's requirements.
The new frontier in industrial lubricant research: the silicone copolymers.molykotetl
Think that silicone lubricants have reached their limitations? Think again. Siloxanes are sometimes dismissed due to their lower load bearing capacity, but new research from Molykote® from Dow Corning proves that altering the molecular structure of pendant groups can bring about a whole range of new properties, and applications, for the trusted silicone lubricant.
This presentation, made to the 83rd NLGI annual meeting in June 2016, provides a detailed overview of the research, development, benefits and applications of a new range of copolymer siloxanes.
Combining the excellent wear and friction protection properties of fluorosiloxanes with the high onset oxidation temperature afforded by phenylsiloxanes, the phenyl-fluoro copolymer makes use of both pendant groups, in varying ratios, to provide a range of lubricants each with their own application benefits.
The lubricants are fully compatible with additives offering further wear resistance, and the potential for a range of product substrates, such as greases.
Need a silicone lubricant with excellent metal-metal application? They are already here.

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

FREEZE
PROTECTION
VOLUME
TONO FROST 593 FFG is a unique formulation
that helps you save up to 10 – 12% on
electricity consumption as compared to normal
Propylene Glycol.
The freeze protection is based on tests
performed on metallic components commonly
used in industrial and commercial systems
such as steel, copper, brass and cast iron.
Slightly higher percentage of the product may
be required in systems containing plastic or
ceramic components.
HOW DOES
CORROSION
HAPPEN
Propylene Glycol oxidizes when exposed to air
and heat. When this occurs, five organic acids
viz., Glycolic, Glyoxalic, Formic, Carbonic and
Oxalic Acid are formed.
If not properly inhibited, this fluid gets very
corrosive. These organic acids then chemically
attack and corrodes the system metal, causing
pitting, pinhole and stress cracking corrosion.

EFFECTS OF
CORROSION
Apart from the capital loss
of metal corrosion, glycol
system has a much higher
effect of corrosion -

The water/glycol solution used for dilution
should be within the following limits:
SYSTEM
OPERATION PROTOCOL
NEW SYSTEM OLD FOULED SYSTEM
Flush entire system thoroughly with normal
water to remove oil, grease or protective
coatings.
Flush entire system thoroughly with
normal water until clean, clear, neutral
pH water found in the outlet.
The system should be free of all foreign matters and debris.
Drain solution from system
Descaling of the system is recommended
to remove scales and corrosion deposits.
Passivate system thoroughly with 2% solution of PASSIRINSE with hot water (60-70°C)
for 24 hours (4 hours on 2 hours off)
Flush system with soft water before final dosing of TONO FROST 593
Use only DM (De-mineralized) water for dilution of glycol
Dip the return line inside the fluid
18. 18 593 Series
PRECAUTIONS • Use DM water for dilution of glycol
• Use of leak detection dye is mandated if suspected for leaks
• Presence of proper maintenance people and equipment during
cleaning will result in a smoother operation.
• Prior to addition of glycol into the system, calculate the total quantity
of glycol and DM water for entire system. Circulate for a minimum of 6
hours and specific gravity after, to ensure proper dilution.
• For corrosion prevention, use of pre-inhibited glycol is mandated.
DOSAGE & QUANTITY
CALCULATION
For top up requirement following formula may be used to calculate the right top up quantity*
ADDING
GLYCOL QG
=
V(D - P)
(100 - P)
where, D = Desired Glycol Percentage
P = Present Glycol Percentage
V = Circulation volume
*Avoid excessive glycol concentration because it increases initial cost and adversely affect physical
properties of the fluid.
