CREATE MY OWN FILM OPENING

5. Makeup
A part from edit the makeup is also a very
hard thing to do. In films like "The Hobbit"
and "Alice in wonderland" the makeup
they have is so incredible and it looks
really realistic.
After practising a lot at home and at
school I believe my makeup skills have
improved and this is very useful for when
it comes to creating films
Actors and recruitment
The recruitment process was not easy,
because we had to find someone who
was good enough to do the part.
I have learnt that not every one can act,
and that it is very difficult. For example I
personally tried to act for our film
opening, but it was very difficult and
wouldn't stop laughing. So in the end I
was the person who recorded the film.
Costume
The costume making Was the
funnest part of creating our film,
we learned a lot of how people
create costumes and videos on
youtube.
I believe it is very hard to create
a costume that look realistic,
when you are not a professional
and don't work in the film
industry. It is not as easy as it
looks.

6. Editing Lighting Location
Editing has been one of the hardest
parts of creating our film opening,
because we had no idea how to
edit a movie.
We have had to edit the sound,
implementing music from youtube,
putting all the non-diegetic sounds,
that had to be edited so it looked as
if it was a diegetic sound. Also
putting all the scenes together so it
looked professional etc
Lighting is so important when
creating a horror film. If it is
sunny, beautiful day and you
want to create a horror film it is
not going to be very scary.
I have the knowledge now
about what lighting I have to
when filming different films.
This was something I knew, but
not in profound depth.
The location is also very important when
it comes to filming. This is because when
you find a great location the scenes and
what is happening in the film, ends up
turning out better than you thought.
The location that we found for our film
was perfect and really helped our film
opening to have that horror feeling.
Which made it easier for us to produce a
better film

7. Angles Camera movements Camera shots
I had no idea about
angles, and the great
difference it made when
you were creating a film.
I have learnt about a few
angles, low, high, eye leve
and canted angle. They
are very useful for when
you want to give
superiority to a character
for example.
When I have watched films in
previous years I never realised
that all the scenes in films had
camera movements.
But that all changed when I
started studying media studies. I
understood why they are use,
and how important they are
when you want to create a good
quality film.
Camera shots I believe are the
most important when it comes to
filming, if you don't have good
shot but you have camera
movements the film will still look
bad.
This I have learnet from experience
during this year studying media
studies. I look back at other
projects that I have done, and I
can see how much improvement I
have gained since.
