2. Director
• The directors job is to control the whole crew, including the technical crew
and the actors. They also have to control the artistic and dramatic aspects of
the film.
• Seyi has been given this role as she has succeeded as a director during the
preliminary task. She also has a clear idea on how we want the film opening
to look. She is also good at organizing things which is what is needed to
make a good director.
3. Producer
• The producers role is to overlook the whole process from start to finish.
They work very closely with the director and other production staff.
• Megan will take on this role as she will work closely with Seyi, the director,
and everyone involved. She has clear ideas on what our film opening needs
to look like in order for it to be successful. This means working closely with
Seyi, who also has good ideas, it will look how we want it to.
4. Camera
• The camera operator works the camera and produces the shots that are
wanted in the film. They do this by combining the use of technology and
visual skills. Usually the person operating the camera works under the
director and has the support of a camera assistant.
• Both of us will be responsible of the camera. This is because we both feel
comfortable working with the camera from when we did the preliminary
task. We can share the role of camera operator as we both have ideas on
what the shots should look like.
5. Editing
• The editors job is to cut away any shots that are not wanted or needed. They
also have the job of fitting the sound and visuals together. The do this by
working alongside cinematographers and sound editors.
• We will work together to edit our film opening. This is because we both have
different ideas so working together will mean we will have a variety in the
transitions and effects we will use. We will use Movie Studio Platinum to edit
our film opening which we both are comfortable with as we used it during
our preliminary task.
6. Actors
• An actors job is to portray a character using speech, movement and body
language. They need to show the characters personality and emotions to
draw the audience in.
• For the two main roles we have chosen Neave as the mother because we
thought she would fit the character well. To play the role of Rayne we have
chosen Leaha because she portrays similar characteristics to Rayne.
• We have included extras for the classroom scene. Most of them enjoy drama
and are available for the time frame we are filming in.
