During the last two years TNW beneficiaries list has exceeded 300,000. To reach this figure we
enjoyed generous support from our donor organizations (Mainly Light House Association from
Turkey), individual philanthropists and volunteers. While two years overview is being launched
I find it suitable occasion to extend my best wishes and note of thanks to all concerned
stakeholders. Here I also appreciate my colleagues and partners who always stood with me and
worked at their maximum potential for the cause of humanity.
During this period government departments also were in best
coordination with us and their facilitation made the task easy and
effective. Above all, the blessings from Allah SWT enabled me to
execute smoothly and safely. I am still looking for continued taufiq
from Allah SWT, cooperation from colleagues’ guidance from
seniors and support from the government line departments and
trust from donors to lessen the sufferings of neglected segments of
the society.

v
POVERTY ALLEVIATION: TNW initiates intervention about Poverty
Alleviation & rural development under title “BARKAT” (Blessing/enhanced). NRM, agri
extension and entrepreneurship development are taken as key of success regarding
people’s uplift.
Poverty Alleviation is actually the key thrust for a deprived economy like Pakistan where 40 % of peopulation lives
below poverty line. TNW has launched a Mudarbah based Islamic Microfinance project (Barkat) in UCs
Monganwala, Kohiwala & Okanwala of Tehsil Kabeerwala of District Khanewal Pakistan. In pilot phase
the organization has started distributing 100 cows and 200 goats’ among the poor livestock farming
groups, women and youth of the area to sustain their livelihoods and to make them productive
entrepreneurs. This one model has following major activities;
1) Situation analysis & need assessment

3) Animals handing over to screened beneficiaries
4) Extension services (Trainings & awareness)
5) Treatment and artificial insemination

EDUCATION IS SOLUTION TNW believes that education is the best
solution of all social issues prevailing in the underserved & oppressed societies.
Awareness, opportunities, quality and support are key components of our initiatives
regarding education as solution
TNW has successfully planned and executed activities to support the cause of educational support to the
target communities. Here is list of interventions which are established with support of stakeholders;
Flood 2010 devastated 22 Feeder Schools in Layyah district creating problem for 1225 boys & girls. TNW took
the responsibility to rebuild these schools and REVIVE education journey of the students of far off areas. Along
with building related facilities like, WASH furniture, stationary and bags were also provided. 3000 flood affected
students were also given gifts comprised of their daily needs.
Under imitative “RIDA” 100 girls are getting education above matriculation level. Some of these are those girls
who have restarted their education as they had terminated the process after completing 10th class a few years
back due to unavailability of local facility and resources to move to nearby cities for this purpose.
Under initiative “ZEST” poor students are identified and given talent scholarship to help them continue their
educational journey until they are able to contribute towards the uplift of their own families and influenced
ones.
Provision of VOCATIONAL SKILLS to the girls/women to generate income is another important segment of
TNW educational interventions.
WASH AND HEALTH critical situation of health facilities along with poor
WASH conditions is contributing negatively towards social development of the country.
Only unsafe water is causing around 50% diseases in Pakistan
TNW is continuously taking initiatives to improve poor people’s health by creating awareness about
health & hygiene and implementing schemes for clean water and better sanitation conditions. Seminars
and conferences, , celebrating World water Day to raise awareness, about clean drinking water and
sanitation conditions
Promotion of Biosand Water Filter(BSF) technology (trainings and installation) as a solution of safe drinking
water. Trainings to the practitioners, professionals, students, volunteers and academia about BSF technology,
installation and use.
During floods Pakistan 2010 TNW installed 1000 biosand water filters among affected families, installed 22 hand
pumps at school, constructed 42 permanent latrines and developed a proper low cost sanitation system in Light
House model village district Layyah
Free medical camps to provide opportunities to the poor people to consult qualified doctors about their health
issues and get free medicine. 1000s poor patients has been supported in these free camps especially during
disaster.

  • 3. During the last two years TNW beneficiaries list has exceeded 300,000. To reach this figure we enjoyed generous support from our donor organizations (Mainly Light House Association from Turkey), individual philanthropists and volunteers. While two years overview is being launched I find it suitable occasion to extend my best wishes and note of thanks to all concerned stakeholders. Here I also appreciate my colleagues and partners who always stood with me and worked at their maximum potential for the cause of humanity. During this period government departments also were in best coordination with us and their facilitation made the task easy and effective. Above all, the blessings from Allah SWT enabled me to execute smoothly and safely. I am still looking for continued taufiq from Allah SWT, cooperation from colleagues’ guidance from seniors and support from the government line departments and trust from donors to lessen the sufferings of neglected segments of the society. FOUNDER’S MESSAGE

NRM, agri extension and entrepreneurship development are taken as key of success regarding people’s uplift. Poverty Alleviation is actually the key thrust for a deprived economy like Pakistan where 40 % of peopulation lives below poverty line. TNW has launched a Mudarbah based Islamic Microfinance project (Barkat) in UCs Monganwala, Kohiwala & Okanwala of Tehsil Kabeerwala of District Khanewal Pakistan. In pilot phase the organization has started distributing 100 cows and 200 goats’ among the poor livestock farming groups, women and youth of the area to sustain their livelihoods and to make them productive entrepreneurs. This one model has following major activities; 1) Situation analysis & need assessment 2) Social mobilization (community organization) 3) Animals handing over to screened beneficiaries 4) Extension services (Trainings & awareness) 5) Treatment and artificial insemination 6) Monitoring evaluation and reporting
  • 10. EDUCATION IS SOLUTION TNW believes that education is the best solution of all social issues prevailing in the underserved & oppressed societies. Awareness, opportunities, quality and support are key components of our initiatives regarding education as solution TNW has successfully planned and executed activities to support the cause of educational support to the target communities. Here is list of interventions which are established with support of stakeholders; Flood 2010 devastated 22 Feeder Schools in Layyah district creating problem for 1225 boys & girls. TNW took the responsibility to rebuild these schools and REVIVE education journey of the students of far off areas. Along with building related facilities like, WASH furniture, stationary and bags were also provided. 3000 flood affected students were also given gifts comprised of their daily needs. Under imitative “RIDA” 100 girls are getting education above matriculation level. Some of these are those girls who have restarted their education as they had terminated the process after completing 10th class a few years back due to unavailability of local facility and resources to move to nearby cities for this purpose. Under initiative “ZEST” poor students are identified and given talent scholarship to help them continue their educational journey until they are able to contribute towards the uplift of their own families and influenced ones. Provision of VOCATIONAL SKILLS to the girls/women to generate income is another important segment of TNW educational interventions.
  • 11. WASH AND HEALTH critical situation of health facilities along with poor WASH conditions is contributing negatively towards social development of the country. Only unsafe water is causing around 50% diseases in Pakistan TNW is continuously taking initiatives to improve poor people’s health by creating awareness about health & hygiene and implementing schemes for clean water and better sanitation conditions. Seminars and conferences, , celebrating World water Day to raise awareness, about clean drinking water and sanitation conditions Promotion of Biosand Water Filter(BSF) technology (trainings and installation) as a solution of safe drinking water. Trainings to the practitioners, professionals, students, volunteers and academia about BSF technology, installation and use.
