Mandate
The Technical Education and Skills Development
Authority (TESDA) is the government agency tasked to
manage and supervise technical education and skills
development (TESD) in the Philippines. It was created by
virtue of Republic Act 7796, otherwise known as the
“Technical Education and Skills Development Act of
1994”. The said Act integrated the functions of the former
National Manpower and Youth Council (NMYC), the
Bureau of Technical-Vocational Education of the
Department of Education, Culture and Sports (BTVE-
DECS) and the Office of Apprenticeship of the
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

8. Considered as fast-growing training provider in the
field of information technology in 1996, the name was
changed to Trimex Computer School. Under the new
name, the school continued to excel and later in
2004, it started to provide technical-vocational
education and training in the fields of Health Science
(Healthcare Services NC II and Tourism (Baking and
Pastry Production NC II, Food and Beverage
Services NC II, Housekeeping NC II, Bartending NC
II, Commercial Cooking NC II).
