  2. 2. Our Vision for Education 'To promote, encourage and co-ordinate the study of the science and art of Logistics, Transport and Supply Chain in all its branches.' 2

What are the main messages… • Our education strategy has to be up-to-date, accessible and global • As CILT globally, we are now into action and implementation - of which Continuing Professional Development is a key element • We need to embrace the concept of CPD and its benefits • We need to provide a practical toolkit to help Branches and Territories move this agenda forward • We want to use CPD opportunities to grow our membership • And we want to actively partner to deliver customized, industry relevant CPD programmes 3

  5. 5. 5 The Digital Revolution • In the UK more than 10m jobs will either disappear of radically change in the next 10 years • There are more than 100m people in the Logistics industry in India. Most of them with little or no education • Automation and Artificial Intelligence will transform Logistics and Transport • What ever knowledge we have today, it wont be enough to help us do our jobs in 10 years

How the Professional Development Strategy fits with our Global Strategy pillars • Establishing CILT programmes and centres in all our countries of operation • Using education as the spearhead to open up markets for wider CILT engagement and membership growth • Prioritising locations where there is commitment, motivation, scale and revenue opportunities • Development of new e-services including e-learning offerings • Development of a global online training and conference portal • Global CPD toolkit • Expansion of short course and modular offerings • Establish strong QA at a regional and local level • Set up of a CILT technical thinktanks to grow local confidence and reputational value • IESC embraces the global CILT family so that there is stronger visibility • CILT International develop and maintain the standards • Stronger links between professional development and membership • Quality Audit approach is strengthened CAPABILITY GOVERNANCE 8

CPD is described as ‘the systematic maintenance and improvement of knowledge, skills and competence throughout a professional’s working life.’ Keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in today’s fast-changing world of work is vitally important, as an Institute it is our obligation to provide a framework to do so CPD Explained
