1. Thermoluminescence dosimeters (TLD) badges are used to monitor the radiation exposure of occupational workers through the use of TLD discs that give off light when heated, allowing the amount of absorbed radiation to be measured.
2. TLD badges contain TLD discs that are read by a TLD reader connected to a computer to determine the radiation dose received over a given time period.
3. Workers are monitored through the use of TLD badges that are sent for radiation monitoring every 3 months, with dose limits not to exceed 100 mSv over 5 years or 30 mSv in a single year.
