2. The audience are immediately able to see that
Superbad is a Columbian pictures film. This scene
suggest a retro theme as the camera flickers on
screen. As the institution fades the music is
introduced. The soundtrack has a 'feel good' theme
about it and connotes parties and being young.
They have used complementary colours of turquoise
and orange to make the logo of the institution stand
out. This emphasises its importance. The opening is
an animated sequence that consists of silhouettes of
the main characters dancing.
The sequence has a Pop art themed style as it
features bold clashing colours. The art style appeals
to people from the 70s culture as Pop art was biggest
then. The transitions are done with bold shapes such
as stars.
The text is centered in the middle of the screen to
show its importance.

3. After Columbian Pictures they introduce Apatow Productions the
production company.
The distribution company's film name is repeated, this is to continue its
importance to the film. But this time it uses the same font as the rest.
The background continues with its 70s theme, which give connotations
that the narrative follows this theme.
In this scene they have started to introduce the names of the main
actors.
They have not placed the title of the movie in the center of the screen
which would be expected to emphasises
it. However they have used to colours for it to shows its importance.

4. The body language of the character's silhouettes
gains interest from the audience and give us
basic ideas of their personalities and a further
narrative.
The colour changes connote different moods and
atmospheres for the audience. For example the
yellow connotes a cheerful and light heartedness
for the film as a whole.
Throughout the title sequence the
silhouettes seem to be the focus point.
Even though there is importance text it all
seems to be placed in the corner or off to
the side of a silhouette.
Although, names of main characters and
directors are still given the properties to
stand out to the audience.

5. Once again the colours have changed. The text has changed to a light blue
colour, yet has been placed on a blue background. This makes it stand out less
which connotes to the audience that it is not very important and not worth
being a focus point.
As well as the silhouettes, the soundtrack is also engaging as it's very catchy and
upbeat. The 'funk style' music isn't very stereotypical for a coming of age film so
it confuses the narrative for the audience a little. However is works really well
with the art style.

6. The text has become more clear again now that it is presenting people who played a more important role in the movie. Yet, the silhouettes still stands out over
everything else. The colours connote an energetic and upbeat narrative which engages the audience as it appeals to people with an interest in comedy and coming
of age genre films.

7. Finally, they place the directors name in the center on screen. They have done this to show how important they are. They have also used the colour white to
stand out on the purple background. The directors names has the main characters mirrored either side of his name which are also in colours which and clear and
stand out easily to the audience.
In the precious two shots the text is also in white and stands out clearly. The font used is easy to read and understand.
The title sequence has slight obeyed by the usual name sequence by have the directors name and the very end.

9. Straight away the audience are introduced into the narrative by know that it is mainly set in school and that the characters are either students
or teachers. The text for the title sequence is done in a unique way as it is part of the setting. This style of title sequence is not commonly used.
The text is presented in a readable font and is in the colour white to stand out from what in the background. The text consist of actors, this may
engage the audience as they may see an actor or actress with has starred in a previous film they have enjoyed. A wide angle camera shot has
been used to try and show the whole of the setting.

10. In this shot the girl in white leads a group of girls which connotes that
she is a key character in the narrative. In this shot they have used a
medium close to show the character.
The camera follows the text.
In the last shot of the title sequence they have placed main character right
next to the text of her name. This makes her look important to the
audience and that she plays a key role in the narrative. However, they have
used a high angle camera shot of her picking up her paper off the floor.
This connotes that she has a difficult time at her school and that he is
treated badly.
