6. Financial Reporter will be phased out
Why?
• 16 bit application
• Newer versions of MS Office
and operating systems will
not support 16 bit
applications
• Sage Intelligence is based on
current technology and
spans multiple Sage product
lines.
When?
• For Hosted and Subscription
based version of Sage 300 –
immediately
• For perpetual licensed users –
upon upgrade to:
• A 64 bit version of MS Office
• An operating system that will not
support 16 bit applications
• Version 2017 or higher of Sage
300
7. Excel Version
• Sage 300 built-in Financial Reporter supports
Excel 2013 but only running in 32 bit
• Sage Intelligence supports running Excel
2013 both 32 and 64 bits
• Sage Intelligence also uses .Net framework 4
which is better supported and avoids
installing old versions of the .Net runtime.
8. Cloud Solution
• As a cloud offering Sage wants to integrate to
the cloud version of Excel, namely the
browser based Excel 365 version
• By using Sage Intelligence, all your report will
continue to work and won’t need to be re-
written once Sage switches to Excel 365
• For the Sage 300 built-in Financial Reporter it
will only continue to work with the local
installed version of Excel
9. Sage Intelligence Used Across All
Sage Accounting Packages
• Sage Intelligence was introduced as a
replacement for the discontinued FRX
Financial Software that was available with
the other Sage Accounting Packages
• Sage 300 is now benefiting from having this
Reporting Tool as it not only reports on
Financial Data but can also report off other
modules
• For the Sage 300 On-Premise installation,
Financial Reporter is still available, but for
the Sage Hosted solution, only Sage
Intelligence is available for Financial
Reporting
• Sage Intelligence where Sage is investing in
improving Excel based reporting
