The Long-Term Effects Of Breaking God s Law
After David s sin with Bathsheba, God did not turn his back on him and demanded that he discontinue
the marital relationship with her since her husband was dead and she was released from that law. The
law stated that For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he
lives.
God punished David and brought upon him the evil consequences of his sin to teach us the
consequences of breaking God s Law. The long term effects of the affair, lead to David s soldiers Joab
putting Uriah on the front lines to be killed. David thought that his punishment was over. He was then
visited by Nathan. Nathan told David what the Lord told him and how he had committed adultery. In 2
Samuel 12:10, Nathan confirms that the sword would

Powers Of Ten Analysis
To begin, much like space, the videos and books read and listened to, covered a lot of ground. What
these sources explained was simply how big space is and our microscopic place is inside such a
colossal surrounding of stars, galaxies, Nebulas, and so much more. To first get a reference point of
our closer neighbors, we were brought through an adventure in the countryside with Bill Nye to
acknowledge the unimaginable distances between the planets. For example, when earth was scaled to
the size of a baseball, it took over well over two miles to reach an absolutely tiny scale model of Pluto.
This is striking on it s own and even more staggering is the fact that Pluto is but a inconsequential
speck on the map of the solar system, galaxy, and universe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The short documentary begins at the hand, or thumb, of a man picnicking in Chicago, then things
change. As hinted by the title, the frame of reference begins to move away from the hand at a power of
ten, and within second viewers have been immersed into space. From that moment forward, our
planet, our sun, our solar system, even the our Galaxy, The Milky Way, shrink out of sight into a
bewildering cluster of galaxies. Third and finally, a representation of the space around us was shared
though the art of words and all things considered, stuns readers the same way as two minutes of film
does. The book is titled A Short History of Nearly Everything, written by Bill Bryson. The passages
read focussed around our home town , or solar system. In movies from recent decades and even 40
years ago, humans are shown zooming through the sky, galaxy to galaxy, but this is sorely not the
case. As written, humans will never leave even our own group of planets. That is unless we have a
spaceship capable of sustaining multiple generations though the Orc Cloud, a 10,000 year journey, and
that is from Pluto, of

Week Three Textbook Reflection
Week Three Textbook Reflection
The Call Os Guinness
In my reflection of The Call this week, if I were to sum it up in one word it would be responsibility . If
a call is to have any legitimacy it has to be saturated in integrity; integrity cannot exist unless we are
diligent in the responsibilities of that call.
Once your journey begins you become more and more visible to those around you; family, work
mates, church members, and neighbors. If we are to have any influence in the lives of those we live
among and mission, we MUST be responsible ministers.
We cannot live in fear of messing up but we should live as though it matters if we do. If mistakes are
or something does not turn out as planned, if we deal with it as responsible leaders ... Show more

The first was the story of Arthur F Burns when asked to pray at the informal White house prayer
group, it was a classic. In this chapter, as he dealt with the responsibly we have to be Christians out
loud and on purpose, I loved the mention of the t shirt that said, Jesus, save me from your followers . I
have prayed that prayer a few times myself.
Courage and Calling Gordon T. Smith
As I read the first two chapters I could see a pattern of learning. The things discussed about life long
learning is a soap box I speak from myself. The way things change so fast; if you want to be effective
in many areas of ministry today you have to constantly learn. What we are doing in the class in a
testament to the desire we have to be equipped for the task set before us.
The following chapter shared how life teaches lessons as well. Sometimes these have a much great
price and toll on us, but ever experience is a lesson to teach and a testimony to share.
As Smith closes out his book he shares some sound information concerning we we flourish in our
ministry. A calling is sacred, the preparation for that calling in ministry is essential, but if I cannot find
a place to exercise my calling in the body of Christ I am likened to the unfaithful servant who buried

Horses Run Wild Persuasive Speech
Solar flares are destroying the planet and a little boy with horse hooves for his hands and feet.
This month s column interesting dreams for the end of the world and someone helping a little boy
whose hands and feet are shaped like horse hooves have quite a few interpretations.
Dream
I had a dream last night that I arrived at a house to help someone. A lady answered the door, who
looked very tired and troubled. She walked me to the back of the home, where there was a boy about
12 years old, he had horse hooves for his hands and feet. The lady left, the boy was communicating
with me, but not through words he said. He was tired of trying to make his mom understand that he is
not helpless. The boy had dark hair and was very troubled. Can anyone ... Show more content on

Horses run wild and free, which is showing you that you or someone in your life needs more freedom
to be themselves.
2. If you have a son, nephew, or any relationship with a young boy; this dream is letting you know that
you need to stop stifling him and allow him to run free.
3. There is someone in your life with male energy who has some kind of physical, mental, or
emotional, handicapped; however, they have the capacity to take care of themselves.
4. This could be your inner male communicating to you that you need to become in touch with the
masculine side of you. The horse hooves are symbolic for you not being comfortable with your male
within.
5. Someone who you are trying to aid is feeling smother by you, your inner female, or another female
relative. Allow this person to fend for themselves.
6. Lastly, you are the tired woman who is holding back; therefore, you need more freedom in your life.
Please observe what is occurring in your life to determine which interpretation fits best.
Dream
Had this funny dream last night. The sun exploded and we saw these massive solar flares on the
horizon at night like a crazy last sunrise. People were going nuts, partying because there really was no
tomorrow, but these humanitarian groups were going around passing out sunscreen and Mylar
blankets. I looked at them like, Are you crazy?! No one is going to survive this free aloe vera gel?

Diomedes Vs Diomene
Translating text creates the opportunity for more people to gain a richer understanding of previously
inaccessible information; even so, it is an imperfect act that is easily influenced by the translator s
subconscious inclinations. Even Homer s Iliad, an epic poem that seems to be set in historical and
literary stone, is subject to translational biases. Richmond Lattimore and Robert Fagles, both
translators of the Iliad, produced two visibly distinct interpretations of its narrative. Through
seemingly trivial differences in syntax, connotation, and tone, Fagles translation of Diomedes speech
in book nine exemplifies him as the ideal Greek warrior and public man while Lattimore s translation
of the same speech turns Diomedes into a selfish and morally weak character.
Fagles translation of Diomedes first speech in Homer s epic poem, the Iliad, starts with great splendor.
Atrides he says, I will be first to oppose you in your folly (Fagles 9.36). With that single line,
Diomedes captivates the crowd and makes both his unwavering pride and sensible intellect apparent.
He firmly yet humbly stops Agamemnon s call for retreat in response to Hector and the Trojans
forcing the Achaeans back to their ships while the rest of the army is shocked into silence. Though it
seems near impossible for the Argives to triumph against the Trojans, Diomedes still offers himself up
to be the first to express his thoughts. It is a daunting task to do after Agamemnon s alarming proposal,

HIST 104A
1964: a Summer That Shocked the Nation
The 1960 s was a time like no other in American history. Racial tension between African Americans
and white, middle class citizens had plagued the country. Animosity towards African Americans was
aggressive throughout the south and did not show signs of letting up. Alongside rising racial tensions,
fear of communism put many on edge, which gave Americans more of a reason to use blacks as a
scapegoat to blame for occurring issues. At the time, white Americans in the south perceived African
Americans as inferior, regardless of if they were technically free . The strong contempt towards the
black community lead to widespread oppression of African Americans ... Show more content on

Doing this gave the African American community more power and voice. Standing united allowed
these activist groups to implement their individual goals and place them all under the same branch.
One major goal included black voter registration lead by Bob Moses and Tom Gaither (44). They
believed that blacks had been disenfranchised by the Jim crow laws and other laws hindering their
voter registration abilities. Voter registration forms made it nearly impossible for uneducated black
Americans to register, often using trick questions (41). A majority of blacks did not feel comfortable
registering to vote due to the potential repercussions. They would often be persecuted and harassed by
locals and often were blacklisted or outed in the local newspapers if attempted to register. The act of
fear instilled in many blacks throughout the south prevented them from registering. Moses and Gaither
along with SNCC volunteers, helped this issue by going to local communities throughout Mississippi,
motivating locals and the community by building local leaders. SNCC activist Charles McLaurin even
stated By getting the people together they will see that they are not alone... (49). Going into
communities and motivating locals to register helped many blacks overcome their fears and aided the
snowball effect of black voter registration. Creation of local leaders gave hope to many black
southerners showing them that

Hydro Quebec Efforts to Restructure and Reorganize IT Support Management Function Line

Objective
The objective of this work is to discuss Hydro Quebec Efforts to restructure and Reorganize IT
support management function line demands business models and specifically to describe external
factors and internal factors affecting change IT management for Hydro Quebec through use of the
socio technical design document. This work will also answer the question of what changes would be
suggested for Hydro Quebec and why.
Introduction
The work entitled Challenges and Reflections on Knowledge Society Sociotechnical Systems reports
that information technology (IT) is redefining the business basis and that customer attendance,
operations, product strategies, marketing and distribution and even the society of knowledge depend
sometimes even totally on Information System (IS). (Balloni, 2010, p.21) The implementation of a
new technology has been associated with problems that are often linked to resistance by the work
force and failure to achieve the expected benefits. (Balloni, 2010, p.21) Balloni (2010) reports that
there must be a fit between the technical and social system, which form the organization. This means
that business strategy, rules and processes determine the type of software and subsequently the type of
hardware, database, and telecommunications system needed by the organization. The social system is
comprised by the organization s

The Theories Of The Field Of Psychology Essay
The field of psychology has grown tremendously over the years. Originally the field began with the
Greek asking questions about how we know anything and how we can be sure that we know
(Wertheimer, 2012, p.21). The philosophy s that were created over time lead to the beginning of
experimental psychology in 19th century Europe (Wertheimer, 2012, p.65). This was a time of little
diversity as those who studied psychology tended to be white European men. This lack of diversity
may have hindered the speed at which the field of psychology grew but has still made a great
contribution to its growth. The French philosopher René Descartes came up with the concept of
dualism in the 1600s (Boundless, 2016). His theory was that the mind and the body are both separate
entities (Boundless, 2016). However, two English philosophers disagreed with Descartes theory
(Boundless, 2016). John Locke and Thomas Hobbes believed that all human experiences are physical
processes that occur inside the brain and the nervous system (Boundless, 2016). Research has shown
that both the mental and the physical aspects of human experience is profoundly entangled, leading
Hobbes and Locke to believe that the mind and the body are so well connected that they are one (the
theory of monism) (Boundless, 2016). This line of thinking has grown through the decades and had a
major influence on both early English psychology and psychology today. Today s mental health
professionals find that their influence stems from

The Truth about Video Games and Violent Children
Violent video games are not training kids to be murderers. The video game industries have been called
against and blamed for making kids more aggressive and violent for years. Although recent studies
show that violent video games have been useful for kids to get their anger out. Only some kids were
found to be aggressive after violent video game play, but they had three specific traits that lead to this
aggressive behavior ( Violent...). Not all kids are affected by violent video games, but people do not
know this so they continue to blame video games for their kids bad behaviors. Aggressive behaviors
do not come from video games, they come from the environment that the kids grew up around ( Do...).

The kids that played the violent video games showed more aggression, but that does not mean they are
violent (Etchells). The kids are given more freedom and control in the games, so when they are not
playing they just have extra energy that can be seen in their emotions commonly ( Do...). Video games
help kids regulate their emotions, serving as an emotional outlet that children could plug into and
release their emotions easily ( Do...). Children with mental health issues are also not affected by
violent video games as proven in a study by Dr. Ferguson (Patterson). Dr. Ferguson states We found
no evidence that violent video games increase bulying or delequent behavior among vulnerable youth
with clinically elevated mental health symptoms. (Patterson). Doctor Ferguson went on to describe it
as a cathartic effect because the children that showed aggression became calmer after the trials
(Patterson).
In a survey of it was discovered that 97% of all teens play or have played video games only 66% of
the action games they play contain violence ( Violent). Parents were asked if they saw a difference in
their child s behavior and 62% exclaimed they saw no change ( Violent). Video game players

Water Consumption Report On Drinking Consumption
Water Consumption Report Student Reference (2137178F) Abstract Although a large majority of
planet Earth s surface comprises water, only a small percentage of it is in fact suitable for use. The
human population is growing rapidly and the demand for fresh water is steadily increasing. The aim of
this investigation is to measure personal water consumption over a period of three weeks and compare
the collected data with the average water consumption of individuals in countries at both ends of the
economic spectrum. The results of personal consumption show that over a one week period, an
average of 713.17 litres of water were consumed (discounting embedded water), which breaks down
to a daily average of 101.88 litres. Although this is lower than the average daily consumption of 150
litres for an individual in the UK , measures can be nevertheless be taken to reduce fresh water
consumption, such as placing bricks inside the toilet cistern, using the washing machine less often,
and using a weaker flow setting on the shower. Introduction Issues relating to water are increasingly
becoming a major global concern. The need for fresh water is fundamental to human life and an
increasing percentage of the global population do not have access to it. In 2011 the UN Secretary
General expressed how Safe drinking water and basic sanitation are intrinsic to human survival, well
being and dignity .) . However, with the global population on the increase, the demand for water and

Lyndon B Johnson s Failures
When Lyndon B. Johnson was elected Vice President for John F. Kennedy in 1960, he never could
have imagined that one day he would be the President, due to Kennedy s assassination. On November
22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, making Lyndon B Johnson the 36th president
of America. Johnson had a vision to rebuild a Great Society ; the Great Society declared war on
poverty. The Great Society had successes as well as failures. Some of the successes were that the
Great Society promoted equality, improved poverty, equality, education, the environment, cities, and

The Vietnam War and the draft for the war contributed to the failures of the Great Society. The
Vietnam War was a failure of the Great Society because of all the money and effort President Johnson

used to help improve American society. President Johnson knew that he was using a lot of the money
towards the war, which caused made programs to go unfunded. He did not want to stop because he did
not want to be the first U.S president to lose a war. As the war became less popular Johnson lost the
political capital that he needed in order to continue to fix the country. It wasted Americas money.

Social Classes During The Elizabethan Era Social Hierarchy
During the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, the social classes and the inheritance of the throne relied upon
family lines and marriage. The social classes went from the workers to the monarch. The difference
between the comforts of those who lived more lavish lives and those who lived paycheck to paycheck
varied widely. The monarch who ruled the throne depended upon their importance or the importance
of who they are married to. In the time of Queen Elizabeth, the social classes started with her at the
top. She became Queen at the age of twenty five and reigned until her death in 1603. During this time
period, civilization thought that God chose the rulers of their country to represent Him ( Elizabethan
Era Social Hierarchy ). Queen Elizabeth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A recent example of this is the marriage of Duchess Kate of Cambridge to Prince William. She had no
royal status before her marriage, although her father had connections to some of the nobility ( Kate
Middleton Biography ). Under Queen Elizabeth I s rule, the borders of England did not grow because
Elizabeth did not marry nor did she have any children to marry foreigners. The Parliament urged her
to marry or to choose someone to take the throne after she passed, but she felt that by choosing
someone to take her place was to go against God in having a righteous ruler (Barbour et al. 51). The
social classes, their treatment, and the rule of the throne all work together, and under Queen Elizabeth
s rule, they all changed for the better. There were five social classes during the sixteenth century, some
with corresponding sub classes. These classes were kept separate by the rules of Parliament that didn t
allow the lower classes to have as many things as the upper classes. Queen Elizabeth I had great rule
over her kingdom, but she did not extend her family line with marriage nor children. The social
systems of the time are not much different than the hierarchy in modern day

The Role Of Commercial Bank Operations Play Role On...
Introduction
Commercial Bank operations play crucial role in monetary policy transmission mechanism. This has
been studied extensively in the theoretical and empirical level. After the ground breaking research
study of Kashyap and Stein (2000), few research have conduct to explore diversity in bank lending
process as responses to monetary policy changes . However these empirical works are purely related
to credit channel that studies how the bank lending behavior changes with the monetary policy. Since
the outburst of the financial crisis in 2007, policy debates have focused on how to restore commercial
banks operations. In particular, governments of developed countries had conducted an extraordinary
monetary easing and capital injections into the banking system. Those policy initiatives were
primarily focused at recovering the functioning of the financial system and restoring commercial
banks lending. Last financial crisis episode shows inherent problem of asymmetric information faced
by the bank and how banks were penalized on their reaction to monetary policy. Fundamentally,
change in interest rates effect individual banks in different degree and creates distributional effects
across banking industry. The crisis demands analysis of research question on the risk taking channel of
monetary policy.
Literature Review
The role of the commercial banks in the transmission of monetary policy has been studied in both the
theoretical and prior empirical literature. These

The Basics Of Canada s Mixed Economic System
Most countries around the world, including Canada, rely on a mixed market economy system in which
the allocation of most resources, goods and services is determined by supply and demand through
markets and prices. This system has many flaws, including environmental damage, high income
inequality both within and between countries, resource depletion and so on.
When I think of alternative economic system, I have to go back to the basics of mixed economic
system, what actually is and what it does. In every kind of society we have to consider two things;
how it produces goods and services and how these goods and services are distributed.one of the flaws
of is that it tends to learn more on the governmental control than the freedom of individuals.
Sometimes, government regulations may cost company so much that it put it out of market hence
paralyzing production features (Tsuruta, 1997). This encourages social democratic programs which
retain capitalist s mode of production. The program also retain fundamental issues of capitalism such
as cynical fluctuations, exploitation and alienation.
Another government negative is that it decides the amount of tax on products which may lead to hike
of the prices of such products hence people unwillingness to buy. Lack of price control management
can cause deficiencies in goods hence bringing market imbalance.
Social democracy is mostly flawed for maintaining a property owning capitalist class which actively

Reliability of TAT
Inter rater Reliability. The reliability of TAT indexes has been a longstanding bugbear for proponents
of these techniques. Fineman (1977) found that the inter rater reliabilities have typically been in the
.80 to .90 range. Yet Entwisle (1973) concluded on the basis of numerous published studies that the
internal consistency of the McClelland et al. (1953) scoring scheme (as measured by Cronbach s
alpha) rarely exceeded .30 to .40.
Test retest reliability: The test retest reliabilities of TAT based achievement indexes over intervals of
several weeks have generally been in the .30 range. Winter Stewart (1977) contended that the low test
retest reliabilities of TAT based need indexes are artifactual as subjects believe that they have to create
different stories.

Anonymous Anonymous, an infamous hacktivist group. Their slogan We are Anonymous. We are
Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us. Now, one can come to think that they kind of
sound like an underground rebel group. Which is what they are, but they do it all via the internet. Once
must also think, well how do they do it all via internet and not get caught? They tunnel all their nodes
and logs through private networks and encrypted chats. You may ask, what do they fight for? Well it s
obvious, they all fight for one thing: Freedom and a proper Government. You can come to this
conclusion just by taking a peek at their tweets, videos, speeches, and etc. It s obvious that
Anonymous s intended audience is anyone they can reach out to, not only does this hacktivist group
focus on American problems, but they also take third world countries problems into consideration. So,
with all this information, you re probably thinking, well how do they solve America s problems?
Anonymous isn t only a group that just tweets hashtags, and what not. Anonymous is loosely
organized group of hackers that attempt to use their skills to make a change. But, not all Anonymous
members are hackers, some join just to promote what the cause. For example: @YouAnonNews on

Anonymous. Anonymous uses all types of social media to spread the word about their ongoing

The Tipping Point
To promote a new breakfast cereal in an already crowded market is not an easy thing to do; especially
if the one who is trying to promote a new cereal wants to make a huge success on that project, it might
be able to a very serious problem. However, if the one follow and correctly apply what Malcom
Gladwell, the author of The Tipping Point, says in his book, it will definitely increases the possibility
of success. There are three factors that help to make a huge success on their cereal promotion. The
first is that the law of few, which is about connectors, mavens, and Salesmen. Second, stickiness,
which is about examples of Sesame Street, Blue s Clues, and Educational Virus. Third, the power of
context, which is about examples of Bernie Goetz and the magic number one hundred and fifty.
Firstly, the law of few refers to the number of people who involve and try to make a trend at the

If the product has no stickiness, it will not be able to create a trend because customers will forget
about the product before they purchase and recommend someone to buy the product. To sum up, when
sellers wants customers to remember their cereals, the sellers needs to consider about how much the
cereals have a power to tell something good information to the customers, such as sellers passion and
creativity. Thirdly, to know and understand the situation and condition of customers is significantly
important for seller. When customers buy something which is not on the shopping list, the decision
might seems like that it is completely depends on one s thought, but it is not. The decision is depends
on the customer s surrounding condition like a smelling. For example, Malcom Gladwell points

The Bamana Boli in Mali
The Boli, or altar, figure from the Bamana peoples of Mali is a unique piece of art not based on what
an individual knows about the figure, but rather what it doesn t. The Boli has a secretive quality that
harness energy from the community and peoples reactions to the Boli can fluctuate based on their
interpretations on the object. The Boli is made of materials ranging from human bodily fluid to sticks
and string. The figure is generally made to resemble an animal, typically a hippopotamus or cow, but
over time with sacrificial material covering the figure it can become somewhat unclear. The Bamana
peoples have an obscure relationship with the Boli for many reasons that could sprout from the

This only adds to the uniqueness of the Boli. Much of the research on Boli figures ends up being
found specifically from the Kono society of the Bamana peoples of Mali. The Kono society is known
as a power association or a secret society each society has a unique way of performing rituals and
creating Boli figures, but all have the basic structure pertaining to the Boli. The main use of the Boli is
to contain nyama, or a mysterious ancient force, which is a very secretive and unclear force that the
Kono believed to affect the society based on how it was dealt. The Kono society has since decreased
in numbers, but the mystery of the Boli and nyama is still feared and/or practiced by some Bamana
peoples that continue the tradition. The usage of the Boli is that of a sacrificial purpose. The Bamana
peoples in secret Kono initiation associations use the Boli, where there is an abundance of nyama
present. The priests of the society can activate and use the nyama and with the initiates combine to
protect the community by destroying malevolent forces. People in each society have there own view
on the usage of the Boli. Some people are for the use and think that actively using Boli figures to
activate nyama to protect the society from evil forces and feel very protected by this ritual. Other
people fear the power of the Boli and are to powerful while being too mysterious and secretive. The

The American judicial system is one that convicts and incarcerate prisoners for various crimes. When
someone commits a crime, it is the judicial system s responsibility to enforce and apply the laws.
Under United States legislation, criminals are innocent until proven guilty in a court trial, but the
judicial system during the twentieth century did not properly give them fair trials. Instead, the court
system convicted many prisoners guilty of crimes they supposedly committed. This situation created
the start of a new and corrupt judicial system because prisoners could not plead their case in court.

American judicial system as unethical because many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of convicts receiving fair trials and being treated equally, the judicial system discriminated
against poverty stricken people and allowed brutal treatment and conditions. Prisons in America
contained a high percentage of poor people because they could not afford bail or lawyers. The judicial
system had no respect towards the poor because they were viewed as uneducated people. Since the
rich had the finances to pay for lawyers and bail, they were less likely to be incarcerated. Money
showed respect, intelligence, and power for wealthy people. Besides discrimination being an issue for
the judicial system, unfair trials for convicts also occurred. Prisoners were not given the chance to
plead guilty or not guilty in a courtroom because they did not have lawyers appointed to them. The
judge solely decided whether to convict a criminal guilty or not guilty of the crime they supposedly
committed. It was common for prisoners to be incarcerated for crimes they never committed because
the judicial system allowed unfair trials. Prisoners experienced brutal and inhumane treatments and
conditions that include physical abuse, unsanitary living environments, and the possibility of
contracting diseases. The judicial system selfishly altered the laws for their own well being. They
benefitted from the changes and were never held accountable for the acts they allowed and committed.

sad even though Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy. Then after the sun close up fades the scene changes to
a long shot of part of a castle and the words Romeo and Juliet in white lettering appear on the screen. I
think the prologue doesn t have any extreme close ups which doesn t give any dramatic effects. I think
Franco Zefferelli wanted to create a peaceful prologue because of the man speaking in that scene and
the very long shot of the city of Verona with the camera moving slowly towards the sun, which is
peaceful. The next scene would than is a contrast to the business to the market place and the brutal

different because of the far more advanced technology used. In this 2nd film of Romeo and Juliet by

Stress and Perfectionism in Academic Achievement Between Blue Ribbon Schools vs. Non blue
Ribbon Schools Erin Altenberger Northern Kentucky University Abstract Stress and Perfectionism in
Academic Achievement Between Blue Ribbon Schools vs. Non blue Ribbon Schools Damian,
Stoeber, Negru, and Baban (2014), describes perfectionism as endeavoring for flawlessness and
setting extremely high standards for oneself. There is not just one type of perfectionism; there are in
fact three different categories of perfectionism. The three categories included self oriented, other
oriented, and socially prescribed perfectionism. Self oriented perfectionism refers to an individual that
sets and seeks high standards of performance for themselves (Chang, 2006). Chang (2006) describes
other oriented perfectionism as an individual that assumes that others should be perfect in their
actions. Socially prescribed perfectionism refers to an individual that believes that those around them
anticipate perfectionism from him or her (Chang, 2006). With what we know about perfectionism and
the potential distress it may cause, one can consider that stress could be a component with
perfectionism. Pope (2005) portrays stress as the perceived shortcomings between demands and the
accessibility of resources to meet those demands. Stress is a feeling that affects people of all ages.
Stress impacts people in a large array of ways, which include emotionally, physically, and mentally

Eating Disorders As A Female Disorder
ABSTRACT
Eating disorders are one of the most prevalent mental disorders in the United States. Although this
disease is typically viewed as a female disorder, males are greatly affected and may go undiagnosed
and untreated due to the attached stigma. Thus, it is important to understand the risk factors associated
with the development of eating disorders in males. These risk factors include: athletic involvement,
sexual orientation, pre morbid obesity, and adverse childhood experiences. Eating disorder type and
symptom presentation also varies between males and females. Males typically do not meet the criteria
to be categorized as Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa, causing their condition to be classified as
Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. Symptom presentation is likely to include binge eating and
excessive exercise rather than restrictive eating, purging, or other compensatory methods commonly
seen in the female population. Several eating disorder assessments are available for use in clinical
practice, most of which have been geared toward the female gender. New assessments, such as the
Eating Disorder Assessment for Males, have been developed recently to try to hone in on the typical
male symptomatology and their psychological processes. Prompt treatment of eating disorders,
regardless of gender, is necessary to prevent the development of medical and psychological
comorbidities. This process cannot begin until the diagnosis has been made; therefore, additional

How Does Willy Russell Create Mood and Atmosphere in the...
In the Summer Sequence Willy Russell s three main protagonists are shown to grow up from the ages
of 15 to 18, thus becoming adults throughout the song. This means that the sequence acts as a
watershed in the respect that it marks a major turning point in the play. This is shown through the
atmosphere that Russell creates, which goes from fairly positive, hopeful tone to a more cynical and
desperate one over the duration of the sequence. Russell uses several techniques to create these
atmospheres throughout.
In the opening of the Summer Sequence the atmosphere is clearly a happy one, which is shown by
Russell by using words like young, free and innocent to describe the characters. In this section, the
word innocent is used twice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This explicitly refers to the brothers fate in a way in which the last section didn t, so the tone is far
more marred by the eventuality of their deaths. This date is also referenced when Russell extends the
metaphor, fate the later seasons bring , which causes the audience to remember the scene at the very
beginning of the play, preventing them from being drawn into the initial happiness of the three
teenagers in this sequence. Again, it refers to Linda being caught in the middle of the pair,
foreshadowing their final argument.
It also refers to Linda paying a price , a theme that was initially shown in the song Easy Terms , sung
by Mrs Johnstone, and in both cases foreshadows the price they ll have to pay for their involvement in
the twins lives. The music becomes far more serious and sinister, a repetitive tense note with no actual
melody.
In the next section a recurring theme is shown with the references to time. This creates a sad,
melancholic atmosphere, as the audience is aware of the character s significant lack of time together,
but the characters are not, so their happy unawareness and this dramatic irony is slightly poignant.
Again, fate is reference by the narrator care not for what s at the end of the day , again forcing the

How Did Ho Chi Minh Fight In Vietnam
During the 1940 to 1945 period, all Vietnamese groups struggling for independence from the French
and the Japanese formed a coalition under the leadership under my name Ho Chi Minh . They called
themselves the League for Independence or the Vietminh. On September 2, 1945, the day Japan
surrendered to the Allies, I announced the formation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and read
to the crowds in Hanoi the Vietnamese Declaration of Independence. At that time, the new republic
included all of Vietnam. Three weeks later, the British were helping to re establish French rule and
forced the Vietminh out of Saigon. During this time, I tried to gain support from President Truman but
received none. By 1947, French troops occupied Hanoi and the fight for independence was on again.

Another reason why I support these actions of the Viet Minh is that it is a fact that the French is doing
everything they can to get rid Vietnam of french colonial power whose actions is causing devastation

the natural resources of the area and open up markets for french manufactured goods. Europeans at the
time believed only the fittest countries survived and the only way to survive was to possess a colonial
empire. An economic transformation began. This French rule meant supplying the mother country
with products such as rice and rubber. There were some economic advances under french rule such as
rubber plantations being flourished, industries expanded, coalfields were developed in Tonkin,
landless peasants became factory or mine workers. The area of rice fields, especially in Cochinchina,

The Failure Of Heart Failure
ABSTRACT
Heart failure is one of the leading causes of mortality, both globally and in New Zealand. It is defined
as the inability of the heart to meet the bodies metabolic need for oxygen and is characterised by a
decrease in cardiac output. The body has many intrinsic mechanisms to attempt to maintain cardiac
output, including activating the renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS). The RAAS cascade
acts to restore cardiac output by increasing fluid retention, thus increasing blood volume and pressure.
Unfortunately, in decompensated heart failure, this is not enough to re establish cardiac output,
causing the action of this system to be upregulated and blood volume to increase further. This is
detrimental to the already failing heart. A new drug, aliskiren, affects the pathophysiology of
hypertension and heart failure by directly inhibiting renin, a mechanism that is distinct from current
therapeutic agents that also target the RAAS, such as ACE inhibitors and Angiotensin II Receptor
Blockers. This gives potential benefits by blocking the RAAS further upstream. However, clinical
trials have failed to demonstrate the predicted benefits of aliskiren. Taking this into consideration,
there is a strong possibility for development of further direct renin inhibiting agents displaying a
higher potential therapeutic index for the treatment of hypertension and heart failure. In order to
thoroughly discuss the potential benefits of aliskiren in relation to hypertension and heart

Intermolecular Forces Lab Report
Introduction
The strengths of intermolecular forces such as dipole dipole, London dispersion and hydrogen
bonding of various substances change over a wide range. However, intermolecular forces are much
weaker than covalent bonds and ionic bonds. It requires less energy to overcome intermolecular
attractions of molecules in a liquid to vaporize them as compared to the energy needed to break their
covalent bonds. When molecules change from solid to liquid to gas, the molecules themselves do not
change while their intermolecular forces change.
Dipole dipole forces occur between molecules which are polar neutral. Polar molecules interact when
the positive end of one molecule is close to the negative end of another molecule. The strengths of
intermolecular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both 1 bromobutane and 1 iodobutane have dipole dipole forces interaction. However, 1 iodobutane
requires more energy for it to vaporize than 1 bromobutance since the strengths of intermolecular
forces increase with an increase in polarity (more dipole dipole forces interaction) of molecules. 1
iodobutane is more polar than 1 bromobutane.
1, 3 dibromopropane has a higher heat of vaporization (47.890KJ/mol) than that of 1 butanol
(41.9KJ/mol) over the same temperature range (413 550K). 1, 3 dibromopropane has stronger dipole
dipole interaction between the bromine attached to carbon number one and three respectively. Even
though 1 butanol has hydrogen bonding forces, the existence of two atoms in the structure of propane
make 1, 3 dibromopropane stronger than 1 butanol. Therefore, 1, 3 dibromopropane needs more
energy as compared to 1 butanol for it to vaporize.
1, 3 propanediol has more heat of vaporization (57.2 KJ/mol) than 1, 3 dibromopropane
(47.890KJ/mol) at the same temperature range (332 448K). 1, 3 propanediol has stronger hydrogen
bonding interactions at carbon number one and three of propane as compared to the dipole dipole
interactions that take place at carbon one and three of propane. Hence, more energy is needed to
vaporize 1, 3 propanediol than 1, 3 dibromopropane.

The Intersection Of Social Movements And Art
The intersection of social movements and Art is one that can be observed throughout the civil right
movements of America in the 1960 s and early 1970 s. The sixties in America saw a substantial
cultural and social change through activism against the Vietnam war, women s right and against the
segregation of the African American communities. Art became a prominent method of activism to
advocate the civil rights movement. It was a way to express self identity as well as the struggle that
people went through and by means of visual imagery a way to show political ideals and forms of

Romare Bearden, started his artistic career being an abstractionist, however the civil right movement
had an impact on his art which lead him to the creation of the group called spiral. With the help of
other black artists, Bearden sought to reflect how they could portray their connection to the civil right
movement through their arts as a racial group minority. Ralph Ellison (1977), mentions the
anachronism of the American social experience of minority artists which could then be used to
understand the motivation behind the art of Bearden. This anachronism refers to; The imbalance in
American society which leads to a distorted perception of social reality, to a stubborn blindness to the
creative possibilities of cultural diversity, to the prevalence of negative myth, racial stereotypes and
dangerous illusion about art, humanities and society. (Ellison: 1977 : pp.673) It is then argued that
many artists are often majorly influenced by the power of this anachronism, as their culture as well as
the freedom of representing their self identity through aesthetic technique of self expression that are

experience. Meanwhile, it is said that Bearden attempt not to follow the anachronism in is art by

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Forensic Science
Forensic science is a multidisciplinary subject utilized for looking at wrongdoing s and social event
confirmation to be utilized as a part of arraignment of guilty parties in a courtroom. Obviously, a
qualitative identification must precede any attempt at quantitation, for little value is served by
attempting to quantitate a material without first determining its identity (Saferstein, 2010, p.205). A
quantitative measurement is normally expert by exact estimation of a solitary property of the material.
A qualitative analysis of a material requires the determination of numerous properties using a variety
of analytical techniques (Saferstein, 2010, p.123). When processing both qualitative and quantitative
analysis of physical evidence you want to make sure you first identify and then classify the type of
physical evidence. Qualitative analysis considers fine qualifications to be drawn because it is not
important to shoehorn the information into a limited number of groupings. The primary weakness of

  • 2. The Long-Term Effects Of Breaking God s Law After David s sin with Bathsheba, God did not turn his back on him and demanded that he discontinue the marital relationship with her since her husband was dead and she was released from that law. The law stated that For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. God punished David and brought upon him the evil consequences of his sin to teach us the consequences of breaking God s Law. The long term effects of the affair, lead to David s soldiers Joab putting Uriah on the front lines to be killed. David thought that his punishment was over. He was then visited by Nathan. Nathan told David what the Lord told him and how he had committed adultery. In 2 Samuel 12:10, Nathan confirms that the sword would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Powers Of Ten Analysis To begin, much like space, the videos and books read and listened to, covered a lot of ground. What these sources explained was simply how big space is and our microscopic place is inside such a colossal surrounding of stars, galaxies, Nebulas, and so much more. To first get a reference point of our closer neighbors, we were brought through an adventure in the countryside with Bill Nye to acknowledge the unimaginable distances between the planets. For example, when earth was scaled to the size of a baseball, it took over well over two miles to reach an absolutely tiny scale model of Pluto. This is striking on it s own and even more staggering is the fact that Pluto is but a inconsequential speck on the map of the solar system, galaxy, and universe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The short documentary begins at the hand, or thumb, of a man picnicking in Chicago, then things change. As hinted by the title, the frame of reference begins to move away from the hand at a power of ten, and within second viewers have been immersed into space. From that moment forward, our planet, our sun, our solar system, even the our Galaxy, The Milky Way, shrink out of sight into a bewildering cluster of galaxies. Third and finally, a representation of the space around us was shared though the art of words and all things considered, stuns readers the same way as two minutes of film does. The book is titled A Short History of Nearly Everything, written by Bill Bryson. The passages read focussed around our home town , or solar system. In movies from recent decades and even 40 years ago, humans are shown zooming through the sky, galaxy to galaxy, but this is sorely not the case. As written, humans will never leave even our own group of planets. That is unless we have a spaceship capable of sustaining multiple generations though the Orc Cloud, a 10,000 year journey, and that is from Pluto, of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Week Three Textbook Reflection Week Three Textbook Reflection The Call Os Guinness In my reflection of The Call this week, if I were to sum it up in one word it would be responsibility . If a call is to have any legitimacy it has to be saturated in integrity; integrity cannot exist unless we are diligent in the responsibilities of that call. Once your journey begins you become more and more visible to those around you; family, work mates, church members, and neighbors. If we are to have any influence in the lives of those we live among and mission, we MUST be responsible ministers. We cannot live in fear of messing up but we should live as though it matters if we do. If mistakes are or something does not turn out as planned, if we deal with it as responsible leaders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first was the story of Arthur F Burns when asked to pray at the informal White house prayer group, it was a classic. In this chapter, as he dealt with the responsibly we have to be Christians out loud and on purpose, I loved the mention of the t shirt that said, Jesus, save me from your followers . I have prayed that prayer a few times myself. Courage and Calling Gordon T. Smith As I read the first two chapters I could see a pattern of learning. The things discussed about life long learning is a soap box I speak from myself. The way things change so fast; if you want to be effective in many areas of ministry today you have to constantly learn. What we are doing in the class in a testament to the desire we have to be equipped for the task set before us. The following chapter shared how life teaches lessons as well. Sometimes these have a much great price and toll on us, but ever experience is a lesson to teach and a testimony to share. As Smith closes out his book he shares some sound information concerning we we flourish in our ministry. A calling is sacred, the preparation for that calling in ministry is essential, but if I cannot find a place to exercise my calling in the body of Christ I am likened to the unfaithful servant who buried his ... This month s column interesting dreams for the end of the world and someone helping a little boy whose hands and feet are shaped like horse hooves have quite a few interpretations. Dream I had a dream last night that I arrived at a house to help someone. A lady answered the door, who looked very tired and troubled. She walked me to the back of the home, where there was a boy about 12 years old, he had horse hooves for his hands and feet. The lady left, the boy was communicating with me, but not through words he said. He was tired of trying to make his mom understand that he is not helpless. If you have a son, nephew, or any relationship with a young boy; this dream is letting you know that you need to stop stifling him and allow him to run free. 3. There is someone in your life with male energy who has some kind of physical, mental, or emotional, handicapped; however, they have the capacity to take care of themselves. 4. This could be your inner male communicating to you that you need to become in touch with the masculine side of you. The horse hooves are symbolic for you not being comfortable with your male within. 5. Someone who you are trying to aid is feeling smother by you, your inner female, or another female relative. Allow this person to fend for themselves. 6. Lastly, you are the tired woman who is holding back; therefore, you need more freedom in your life. Please observe what is occurring in your life to determine which interpretation fits best. Dream Had this funny dream last night. The sun exploded and we saw these massive solar flares on the horizon at night like a crazy last sunrise. • 6. Diomedes Vs Diomene Translating text creates the opportunity for more people to gain a richer understanding of previously inaccessible information; even so, it is an imperfect act that is easily influenced by the translator s subconscious inclinations. Even Homer s Iliad, an epic poem that seems to be set in historical and literary stone, is subject to translational biases. Richmond Lattimore and Robert Fagles, both translators of the Iliad, produced two visibly distinct interpretations of its narrative. Through seemingly trivial differences in syntax, connotation, and tone, Fagles translation of Diomedes speech in book nine exemplifies him as the ideal Greek warrior and public man while Lattimore s translation of the same speech turns Diomedes into a selfish and morally weak character. Fagles translation of Diomedes first speech in Homer s epic poem, the Iliad, starts with great splendor. Atrides he says, I will be first to oppose you in your folly (Fagles 9.36). With that single line, Diomedes captivates the crowd and makes both his unwavering pride and sensible intellect apparent. He firmly yet humbly stops Agamemnon s call for retreat in response to Hector and the Trojans forcing the Achaeans back to their ships while the rest of the army is shocked into silence. Though it seems near impossible for the Argives to triumph against the Trojans, Diomedes still offers himself up to be the first to express his thoughts. Racial tension between African Americans and white, middle class citizens had plagued the country. Animosity towards African Americans was aggressive throughout the south and did not show signs of letting up. Alongside rising racial tensions, fear of communism put many on edge, which gave Americans more of a reason to use blacks as a scapegoat to blame for occurring issues. At the time, white Americans in the south perceived African Americans as inferior, regardless of if they were technically free . The strong contempt towards the black community lead to widespread oppression of African Americans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Doing this gave the African American community more power and voice. Standing united allowed these activist groups to implement their individual goals and place them all under the same branch. One major goal included black voter registration lead by Bob Moses and Tom Gaither (44). They believed that blacks had been disenfranchised by the Jim crow laws and other laws hindering their voter registration abilities. Voter registration forms made it nearly impossible for uneducated black Americans to register, often using trick questions (41). A majority of blacks did not feel comfortable registering to vote due to the potential repercussions. They would often be persecuted and harassed by locals and often were blacklisted or outed in the local newspapers if attempted to register. The act of fear instilled in many blacks throughout the south prevented them from registering. Moses and Gaither along with SNCC volunteers, helped this issue by going to local communities throughout Mississippi, motivating locals and the community by building local leaders. SNCC activist Charles McLaurin even stated By getting the people together they will see that they are not alone... (49). Going into communities and motivating locals to register helped many blacks overcome their fears and aided the snowball effect of black voter registration. • 9. The Theories Of The Field Of Psychology Essay The field of psychology has grown tremendously over the years. Originally the field began with the Greek asking questions about how we know anything and how we can be sure that we know (Wertheimer, 2012, p.21). The philosophy s that were created over time lead to the beginning of experimental psychology in 19th century Europe (Wertheimer, 2012, p.65). This was a time of little diversity as those who studied psychology tended to be white European men. This lack of diversity may have hindered the speed at which the field of psychology grew but has still made a great contribution to its growth. The French philosopher René Descartes came up with the concept of dualism in the 1600s (Boundless, 2016). His theory was that the mind and the body are both separate entities (Boundless, 2016). However, two English philosophers disagreed with Descartes theory (Boundless, 2016). John Locke and Thomas Hobbes believed that all human experiences are physical processes that occur inside the brain and the nervous system (Boundless, 2016). Research has shown that both the mental and the physical aspects of human experience is profoundly entangled, leading Hobbes and Locke to believe that the mind and the body are so well connected that they are one (the theory of monism) (Boundless, 2016). This line of thinking has grown through the decades and had a major influence on both early English psychology and psychology today. • 12. Water Consumption Report On Drinking Consumption Water Consumption Report Student Reference (2137178F) Abstract Although a large majority of planet Earth s surface comprises water, only a small percentage of it is in fact suitable for use. The human population is growing rapidly and the demand for fresh water is steadily increasing. The aim of this investigation is to measure personal water consumption over a period of three weeks and compare the collected data with the average water consumption of individuals in countries at both ends of the economic spectrum. The results of personal consumption show that over a one week period, an average of 713.17 litres of water were consumed (discounting embedded water), which breaks down to a daily average of 101.88 litres. Although this is lower than the average daily consumption of 150 litres for an individual in the UK , measures can be nevertheless be taken to reduce fresh water consumption, such as placing bricks inside the toilet cistern, using the washing machine less often, and using a weaker flow setting on the shower. Introduction Issues relating to water are increasingly becoming a major global concern. The need for fresh water is fundamental to human life and an increasing percentage of the global population do not have access to it. In 2011 the UN Secretary General expressed how Safe drinking water and basic sanitation are intrinsic to human survival, well being and dignity .) . • 15. Social Classes During The Elizabethan Era Social Hierarchy During the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, the social classes and the inheritance of the throne relied upon family lines and marriage. The social classes went from the workers to the monarch. The difference between the comforts of those who lived more lavish lives and those who lived paycheck to paycheck varied widely. The monarch who ruled the throne depended upon their importance or the importance of who they are married to. In the time of Queen Elizabeth, the social classes started with her at the top. She became Queen at the age of twenty five and reigned until her death in 1603. She had no royal status before her marriage, although her father had connections to some of the nobility ( Kate Middleton Biography ). Under Queen Elizabeth I s rule, the borders of England did not grow because Elizabeth did not marry nor did she have any children to marry foreigners. The Parliament urged her to marry or to choose someone to take the throne after she passed, but she felt that by choosing someone to take her place was to go against God in having a righteous ruler (Barbour et al. 51). The social classes, their treatment, and the rule of the throne all work together, and under Queen Elizabeth s rule, they all changed for the better. There were five social classes during the sixteenth century, some with corresponding sub classes. These classes were kept separate by the rules of Parliament that didn t allow the lower classes to have as many things as the upper classes. This has been studied extensively in the theoretical and empirical level. After the ground breaking research study of Kashyap and Stein (2000), few research have conduct to explore diversity in bank lending process as responses to monetary policy changes . However these empirical works are purely related to credit channel that studies how the bank lending behavior changes with the monetary policy. Since the outburst of the financial crisis in 2007, policy debates have focused on how to restore commercial banks operations. In particular, governments of developed countries had conducted an extraordinary monetary easing and capital injections into the banking system. Those policy initiatives were primarily focused at recovering the functioning of the financial system and restoring commercial banks lending. Last financial crisis episode shows inherent problem of asymmetric information faced by the bank and how banks were penalized on their reaction to monetary policy. Fundamentally, change in interest rates effect individual banks in different degree and creates distributional effects across banking industry. The crisis demands analysis of research question on the risk taking channel of monetary policy. The Basics Of Canada s Mixed Economic System Most countries around the world, including Canada, rely on a mixed market economy system in which the allocation of most resources, goods and services is determined by supply and demand through markets and prices. When I think of alternative economic system, I have to go back to the basics of mixed economic system, what actually is and what it does. In every kind of society we have to consider two things; how it produces goods and services and how these goods and services are distributed.one of the flaws of is that it tends to learn more on the governmental control than the freedom of individuals. Sometimes, government regulations may cost company so much that it put it out of market hence paralyzing production features (Tsuruta, 1997). This encourages social democratic programs which retain capitalist s mode of production. The program also retain fundamental issues of capitalism such as cynical fluctuations, exploitation and alienation. Another government negative is that it decides the amount of tax on products which may lead to hike of the prices of such products hence people unwillingness to buy. Since the rich had the finances to pay for lawyers and bail, they were less likely to be incarcerated. Money showed respect, intelligence, and power for wealthy people. Stress and Perfectionism in Academic Achievement Between Blue Ribbon Schools vs. Non blue Ribbon Schools Erin Altenberger Northern Kentucky University Abstract Stress and Perfectionism in Academic Achievement Between Blue Ribbon Schools vs. Non blue Ribbon Schools Damian, Stoeber, Negru, and Baban (2014), describes perfectionism as endeavoring for flawlessness and setting extremely high standards for oneself. There is not just one type of perfectionism; there are in fact three different categories of perfectionism. The three categories included self oriented, other oriented, and socially prescribed perfectionism. Self oriented perfectionism refers to an individual that sets and seeks high standards of performance for themselves (Chang, 2006). Chang (2006) describes other oriented perfectionism as an individual that assumes that others should be perfect in their actions. Socially prescribed perfectionism refers to an individual that believes that those around them anticipate perfectionism from him or her (Chang, 2006). Again, fate is reference by the narrator care not for what s at the end of the day , again forcing the audience to remember the fate of the boys, this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. How Did Ho Chi Minh Fight In Vietnam During the 1940 to 1945 period, all Vietnamese groups struggling for independence from the French and the Japanese formed a coalition under the leadership under my name Ho Chi Minh . They called themselves the League for Independence or the Vietminh. On September 2, 1945, the day Japan surrendered to the Allies, I announced the formation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and read to the crowds in Hanoi the Vietnamese Declaration of Independence. At that time, the new republic included all of Vietnam. Three weeks later, the British were helping to re establish French rule and forced the Vietminh out of Saigon. During this time, I tried to gain support from President Truman but received none. By 1947, French troops occupied Hanoi and the fight for independence was on again. ... Another reason why I support these actions of the Viet Minh is that it is a fact that the French is doing everything they can to get rid Vietnam of french colonial power whose actions is causing devastation to my people. It is a fact that the primary objective of the french in Indochina was economic to exploit the natural resources of the area and open up markets for french manufactured goods. Europeans at the time believed only the fittest countries survived and the only way to survive was to possess a colonial empire. An economic transformation began. This French rule meant supplying the mother country with products such as rice and rubber. There were some economic advances under french rule such as rubber plantations being flourished, industries expanded, coalfields were developed in Tonkin, landless peasants became factory or mine workers. The area of rice fields, especially in Cochinchina, rose from 518,000 hectares in 1880 to 2,201,500 in 1939. Despite this, the people of Indochina remained and poor with increasing taxes and ... • 37. The Failure Of Heart Failure ABSTRACT Heart failure is one of the leading causes of mortality, both globally and in New Zealand. It is defined as the inability of the heart to meet the bodies metabolic need for oxygen and is characterised by a decrease in cardiac output. The body has many intrinsic mechanisms to attempt to maintain cardiac output, including activating the renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS). The RAAS cascade acts to restore cardiac output by increasing fluid retention, thus increasing blood volume and pressure. Unfortunately, in decompensated heart failure, this is not enough to re establish cardiac output, causing the action of this system to be upregulated and blood volume to increase further. This is detrimental to the already failing heart. A new drug, aliskiren, affects the pathophysiology of hypertension and heart failure by directly inhibiting renin, a mechanism that is distinct from current therapeutic agents that also target the RAAS, such as ACE inhibitors and Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers. This gives potential benefits by blocking the RAAS further upstream. However, clinical trials have failed to demonstrate the predicted benefits of aliskiren. Taking this into consideration, there is a strong possibility for development of further direct renin inhibiting agents displaying a higher potential therapeutic index for the treatment of hypertension and heart failure. In order to thoroughly discuss the potential benefits of aliskiren in relation to hypertension and heart ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Intermolecular Forces Lab Report Introduction The strengths of intermolecular forces such as dipole dipole, London dispersion and hydrogen bonding of various substances change over a wide range. However, intermolecular forces are much weaker than covalent bonds and ionic bonds. It requires less energy to overcome intermolecular attractions of molecules in a liquid to vaporize them as compared to the energy needed to break their covalent bonds. When molecules change from solid to liquid to gas, the molecules themselves do not change while their intermolecular forces change. Dipole dipole forces occur between molecules which are polar neutral. Polar molecules interact when the positive end of one molecule is close to the negative end of another molecule. The strengths of intermolecular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both 1 bromobutane and 1 iodobutane have dipole dipole forces interaction. However, 1 iodobutane requires more energy for it to vaporize than 1 bromobutance since the strengths of intermolecular forces increase with an increase in polarity (more dipole dipole forces interaction) of molecules. 1 iodobutane is more polar than 1 bromobutane. 1, 3 dibromopropane has a higher heat of vaporization (47.890KJ/mol) than that of 1 butanol (41.9KJ/mol) over the same temperature range (413 550K). 1, 3 dibromopropane has stronger dipole dipole interaction between the bromine attached to carbon number one and three respectively. Even though 1 butanol has hydrogen bonding forces, the existence of two atoms in the structure of propane make 1, 3 dibromopropane stronger than 1 butanol. Therefore, 1, 3 dibromopropane needs more energy as compared to 1 butanol for it to vaporize. 1, 3 propanediol has more heat of vaporization (57.2 KJ/mol) than 1, 3 dibromopropane (47.890KJ/mol) at the same temperature range (332 448K). 1, 3 propanediol has stronger hydrogen bonding interactions at carbon number one and three of propane as compared to the dipole dipole interactions that take place at carbon one and three of propane. Hence, more energy is needed to vaporize 1, 3 propanediol than 1, 3 dibromopropane. Part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Intersection Of Social Movements And Art The intersection of social movements and Art is one that can be observed throughout the civil right movements of America in the 1960 s and early 1970 s. The sixties in America saw a substantial cultural and social change through activism against the Vietnam war, women s right and against the segregation of the African American communities. Art became a prominent method of activism to advocate the civil rights movement. It was a way to express self identity as well as the struggle that people went through and by means of visual imagery a way to show political ideals and forms of resistance. To examine how a specific movement can have a profound effects on the visual art, this essay will focus on the black art movement of the 1960s and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly, observing the work of Emma Amos who was the only women within the spiral group. Romare Bearden, started his artistic career being an abstractionist, however the civil right movement had an impact on his art which lead him to the creation of the group called spiral. With the help of other black artists, Bearden sought to reflect how they could portray their connection to the civil right movement through their arts as a racial group minority. Ralph Ellison (1977), mentions the anachronism of the American social experience of minority artists which could then be used to understand the motivation behind the art of Bearden. This anachronism refers to; The imbalance in American society which leads to a distorted perception of social reality, to a stubborn blindness to the creative possibilities of cultural diversity, to the prevalence of negative myth, racial stereotypes and dangerous illusion about art, humanities and society. (Ellison: 1977 : pp.673) It is then argued that many artists are often majorly influenced by the power of this anachronism, as their culture as well as the freedom of representing their self identity through aesthetic technique of self expression that are already existing. This, then restrict their attempt to seek change of the complex social situation they experience. Meanwhile, it is said that Bearden attempt not to follow the anachronism in is art by transforming it into a component of art as a mean of personal vision (Ellison: ... Strengths And Weaknesses Of Forensic Science Forensic science is a multidisciplinary subject utilized for looking at wrongdoing s and social event confirmation to be utilized as a part of arraignment of guilty parties in a courtroom. Obviously, a qualitative identification must precede any attempt at quantitation, for little value is served by attempting to quantitate a material without first determining its identity (Saferstein, 2010, p.205). A quantitative measurement is normally expert by exact estimation of a solitary property of the material. A qualitative analysis of a material requires the determination of numerous properties using a variety of analytical techniques (Saferstein, 2010, p.123). When processing both qualitative and quantitative analysis of physical evidence you want to make sure you first identify and then classify the type of physical evidence. Qualitative analysis considers fine qualifications to be drawn because it is not important to shoehorn the information into a limited number of groupings. The primary weakness of Qualitative analysis is to deal with corpus investigation is that their discoveries cannot be stretched out to more extensive populaces with a similar level of sureness that quantitative analysis can. This is because of the discoveries of the exploration are not tried to find whether they are factually critical or because of shot. Quantitative analysis enables us to find which wonders are probably going to be veritable impressions of the conduct of a dialect or assortment, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
