5. This poster for the movie Titanic makes it
clear what the movie is about from the
poster, for example the poster has the two
main characters on the front making it clear
it is a love story. The front also included the
boat the Titanic which we already know the
film is about from the name which is also
included on the front.

6. On this video game poster for Red
Dead Redemption 2 all the
components of it help show what the
product itself is and what it may
include. For example the majority of
the poster is read and with the title
being ‘red dead redemption’ this gives
strong connotations of blood and
death. This is also backed up with
there being a gun included on the
poster with what looks to be a wild
western gang just underneath.

7. In this poster there are lots of connotations
some which are similar but also ones that
are very different. For example at the fore
front of the poster there is a long table
with many people gathered around it with
all the attention being on the man in the
middle, this gives religious connotations as
it is similar to the painting of Jesus’s last
meal hinting I what the game could be
about. There are also lots of weapons
included which gives connotations of
violence and death. The setting however is
a sunny field with a church which gives
connotations of peace and serenity
perhaps.

9. Shining
The trailer for the shining uses music to make it appear
as a horror using eery sounds and loud suspenseful
music in parts to create a horror movie setting. The
trailer also contains scenes where the lighting is low or
just dark when showing some parts to help make the
movie appear as a horror film.

10. Scary Mary
• The slips they show are faster and they select
scenes where the meaning could be different.
The overall colour is darker and use of close
ups more. The sound reflects the horror genre
and builds tension.

18. Clip Analysis
• The dark cloak and mask suggest he is hiding
his identity and he is therefore the bad guy as
he is the one who has ominous music when he
enters. He also has a red lightsaber so this
suggests death and violence. The other fighter
has lighter clothes which are more natural and
therefore suggest he is more down to earth
and good. He has a blue lightsabre which
suggests positivity.
