• Denotation
– A long limbless reptile which
has no eye lids, a short tail,
and jaws that are capable of
considerable extension.
• Connotation
– Devious, cold-hearted and
untrustworthy.
– Treachery, Evil, and betrayal.

3. Flag
• Denotation
– A piece of cloth, usually
rectangular, of distinctive
colour and design, used as a
symbol, signal, or emblem.
• Connotation
– Calling attention/bad
content.
– To give a country some
identity.

4. Guns
• Denotation
– A weapon consisting of a metal
tube, with mechanical
attachments, from which
projectiles are shot by the
force of an explosive; a piece

– A form of violence, Power and

woman is going to harm the

– The genre is fantasy, but
could be linked in with
romance, the woman might
be in love with the man and
the soundtrack might be to
emphasize that.

• The soundtrack made it seem like a family film
even though it’s a horror film. Using those
specific clips also made it seem like a boys life
to a new father. It also makes it seem like a
romantic comedy with the kid discovering new
things while his foster father is getting to
know the mother.

10. Scary Mary
• The soundtrack completely over hauled the
trailer to make it into a horror film. The way
the clips were put together, it made it look like
Mary was a satanic beast.

18. Clip Analysis
• At the beginning fight Darth Vader is made to
look big while the stromtroopers miss their
shots per usual. Darth Vader is wearing full
black leaving a shadow behind the mask, the
lighting shows that Darth Vader is superior in
all aspects. The colour makes the rebels less
intimidating to Darth Vader. The way it is cut
together makes it seem like no one can defeat
Darth Vader as if he was invincible.
