The Woman in Black is a horror film about a lawyer who is given a remote house to sell but discovers it is haunted by the spirit of a woman seeking revenge. There are many jump scares using silence and creepy music or dolls. The setting is a small, isolated village surrounded by darkness and shadows. The protagonist tries to solve the mystery of the house and woman but is unable to stop her killing children, as she is upset over losing custody of her own son and taking revenge on the village.

Introduction - It is a film about a lawyer who lost his wife and has one child but is then given
a house in a remote village to sell but started to learn that the people in the village are
keeping some dark secrets from him about the house he is selling he later finds out a spirit
of a women is haunting the house and is looking for something that she lost and she kills
children for revenge
Conventional - There was jump scares in the film where it went completely silent there was
creepy/eerie music playing with the main character walking alone in a room and then the
camera will go to one corner of the room and back at the character and then when the
audience least expects it then a jump scare happens and it also had creepy looking dolls
which were broken and dusty making them look old and not used and lots of children have
dolls so the film is relatable for kids and it makes kids scared to use their dolls after this
makes kids scare because dolls usually represent happiness and nurturing but they are used
in horror movies and make us feel creeped out and they represent something sinful in horror
films they are possessed having a doll with an oversized head and big eyes where they don't
blink makes kids scared of their own dolls.
There was lots of low key lighting to create shadows there was no high key lighting the
setting was dark. It was set in a small village where everyone knew everyone it was not
overcrowded there were not many people there it wasn't a busy area it was calm and
peaceful and just one big house of the island in an isolated area.
There was one protagonist in the film trying to solve the problem afterwards and tried to find
out more about the house and the women and what happened to her and then tried to give
her son back and tried to solve everything but it didn't work.
People were wearing dark coloured clothes like black which can represent evilness and
sinister stuffs people wear black in horror films because it gives us a sense of danger to stay
away and shows they are sinister. The movie had three typical features which were
depression ( the woman/ghost was upset because she had a child that she was capable to
look after so therefore it was given to her sister but her sister did not her see the ki or near
the kid) and suicide ( the woman killed herself after her son died because she could not
handle it and the body of her son was never found ) and revenge ( revenge on everyone who
said she was mental and ended up in an asylum and couldn't see her son because he was
taken by the nurse and given to her sister so the woman came back for revenge and killed
other families kids
In the film they were making the kids die like the kids were the bad one when they ain't
