8. BOD Group building
• 13 March, 2013 - Building Commission signed the
act of building completion.
• 28 March, 2013 - the building awarded as the
most innovative building in Lithuania at the
building competition "Green City - the best RE
ECO Project 2012“
• 9 September, 2009 Government of Lithuania
declared that the Integrated Science, Studies and
Business Centre (Valley) “Santara” development
project group is an economic project of public
interest.
• Investment into geothermal system reaches over
4 Million LTL (1,16 Million EUR). The pay off is
plaanned in 3 years. The building maintance will
use 60% less gas and electricity, so annually will
be saved ~0,85 Million LTL (0,25 Million EUR).
• BOD Group building – the first in Eastern Europe
using geothermal energy for heating and cooling
the premises and manufacturing equipment.
• Swedbank invested 37 Million LTL (10,16 Million
EUR) into the building.

9. Building construction solutions
• Building area - 28 800 m². Construction worth over 45 million LTL (13 million Euros).
• 108 bores drilled into the depth of 148 meters for geothermal system. They are connected
with heating pumps by the piping system (length of 17 km).
• The precast reinforced concrete was used for building constructions. The columns stand out
for the large amount of consoles. A part of reinforced concrete joists were also designed in a
console type. This kind of reinforced concrete columns and joists with consoles is one of the
most unique solutions of the building.
• Over 6000 m² of panels were used for the façade, 500 m² of them are bent. The majority of
them are filled with fire protection polyurethane foam “IPN Firesafe”. The thermal resistance
of building reaches 5 m² K/W, so the heating costs will be low.
• The interior is designed using the frameless glass partitions. In total over 24 000 m² of glass.
• In the underground car parking there was projected a highly effective ventilation and
smoke exhaust system with flow fans, rejecting a traditional air tube system which takes a
lot of space. The heating, cooling and ventilation systems can be managed with a
centralized, easy programmed control system connected to the Internet.
• On the roof of the building the experimental solar modules will be integrated as a laboratory
for manufactured solar products. Solar modules of 200 kWp will satisfy ~20% of annual
electricity needs of the building.
