General introduction to the technology
Qualities and functionality
• Zappa is a long-lasting universal envelope solution for façade, suitable for renovation. ( natural slate and Clay )
• Zappa consists of a natural slate plate system with an option of integrated solar cells in an aesthetically well-integrated solution.
• Zappa is a lightweight building envelope solution, including of a fast and cheap mounting and disassembly system and can be
built into most existing designs.
• the natural slate is a durable material with unusually good qualities when it comes to all kinds of weather, winds, fires etc.
• slate requires no maintenance and has an expected minimum lifespan of + 80 years.

Objectives in RINNO
Objective 1 is to deliver greener, bio-based, less energy-intensive building renovation elements and energy systems including plug-
n-play modular building envelope solutions and RES harvesting, storage and multifunctional hybrid retrofitting solutions.
