• The Solar System is made up of the Sun and all the
celestial bodies that orbites the sun.
• The sun is at the centre of the Solar System.

7. Earth Rotation
• Earth spins on its axis, this movement is called rotation.
• The Earth turns round once in its axis every 24 hours, this is a day.
Day and night
•Day: the Sun´s rays reach the planet
•Night: the Sun´s rays don´t reach the planet

8. Earth Revolution
• It is the earth´s movement around the Sun.
• It takes 365 days to orbit all the way around the sun
• In other words, it takes one year to be completed.
This movement around the Sun produces the seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
•Summer: it is very hot
•Spring: It is warmer and the days get longer
•Winter: it is colder and the days are short
•Autumn: it starts to get colder

10. The Moon
• The moon is Earth´s satellite.
• The moon is a non luminous body. Only bright because the Sun is shining on it.
• A sattellite is a spherical celestial body that orbits around a planet

11. The Phases of the Moon
• Depending on the Moon´s position we can see all of it or none of it. These are called
the phases of the Moon.

• Most astronomers believe the universe began in the Big Bang which was a big
explosion.
