Our solar system is formed of the Sun and objects like planets and asteroids that move around it. The Earth, a spherical planet with three layers including the geosphere and atmosphere, rotates on its axis and orbits the Sun. The Moon is the Earth's only natural satellite, and its phases and gravitational pull cause lunar eclipses and ocean tides.
