This document discusses a study that examined whether using Nintendo DS and Junior Brain Training could improve student engagement and literacy skills. The author implemented a 3-week program with 4 grade 3/4 students where they used the Nintendo DS during literacy sessions. Students showed improved focus, viewed it as a game making it more engaging, and transferred skills to classroom learning. Pre and post-testing found all students expanded their word knowledge by a minimum of 7 words, showing the program successfully improved literacy.
