2. The nervous system controls everything you do,
including breathing, walking, thinking, and
feeling.
This system is made up of your brain,
spinal cord, and all the nerves
in your body.
3. The nerves carry the messages to and
from the body, so the brain can interpret
them and take action.
4. The main cells are called
neurones.
There are 2 different
parts to a neurone. The
body and the branches.
The neurones carry the
messages around the body,
by an electric current.
5. A voluntary action is something that we decide to do, or
not do, ourselves.
We can control when we do them.
Voluntary actions include talking, running, eating…
6. An involuntary action is something that we cannot control.
We do not tell our body to do it.
Involuntary actions include breathing, blinking, our heart
beating…
7. 1.Cerebrum (brain)
Controls all the activity in the
nervous system. In charge of
thinking, and voluntary actions.
2.Cerebellum
Coordinates movement. Helps us
to learn new things.
3.Brain stem.
Regulates the organs, like the
heart, the stomach, liver, lungs
etc. Involuntary actions
8. The peripheral nervous system carries messages to and
from the central nervous system.
It sends information to the brain and carries out orders
from the brain.
