Blue School was founded in 2006 by members of the Blue Man Group performance troupe. As an independent school in New York City, Blue School maintains membership with the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), a nonprofit organization serving over 1,700 schools. NAIS holds various conferences and workshops throughout the year to help members improve practices and stay up-to-date on education issues. The next NAIS Annual Conference will take place February 25-27, 2015 in Boston, featuring over 175 educational workshops and prominent speakers.

Blue School, an innovative independent school based in New York City, was founded in 2006 by several talented artists, including the three original members of the successful performance troupe Blue Man Group. As an engaged educational institution, Blue School maintains memberships with such organizations as the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), a nonprofit membership group that serves a community of more than 1,700 schools through a variety of programs and activities.

As a component of its education and professional development offerings, NAIS holds a variety of institutes, workshops, and conferences throughout the year to help its members improve their practice and stay abreast of the latest issues currently facing education. Each February, NAIS members from around the globe gather at the organization’s Annual Conference, which gives attendees the opportunity to meet other independent school professionals, learn new skills, and explore the latest resources and services available to today’s educators.
- 4. The next NAIS Annual Conference will take place February 25-27, 2015, at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston. In addition to more than 175 educational workshops, the three-day event will feature a number of prominent speakers, including Michael Horn, a noted author and cofounder of the Clayton Christensen Institute.
