AISNE fosters quality and community
spirit among New England’s
independent schools. It offers
leadership and facilitates equity
among its members. The organization
provides a vast array of information to
prospective students and families
interested in an independent
education, and dispels many
commonly held misconceptions.
Conclusion


One such idea is the myth that
independent schools lack diversity and
therefore fall short in preparing children
for the “real world.” AISNE maintains that
while “real world” is subject to many
definitions, the most successful
preparation is a solid education. This
includes but is not confined to
academics, and many independent
schools are deliberately diverse - in
race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic
