The Importance Of Education Essay Writing
Crafting an essay on the significance of education, particularly in the context of essay writing
itself, presents a multifaceted challenge. Firstly, one must navigate the breadth of the topic,
spanning from the fundamental role of education in personal and societal development to its
specific relevance in honing writing skills. This demands comprehensive research and a nuanced
understanding of educational theory and pedagogy.
Moreover, addressing the importance of education in the context of essay writing necessitates a
keen awareness of the intricacies of effective communication and critical thinking. It involves
delving into the ways in which education cultivates not only literacy but also the ability to
analyze, synthesize, and articulate ideas coherently—a process central to the craft of essay
composition.
Additionally, exploring the significance of education in essay writing requires grappling with the
evolving landscape of communication technologies and media platforms. In today's digital age,
the modes of writing and dissemination have undergone profound transformations, demanding
adaptability and proficiency in various forms of expression, from traditional essays to
multimedia presentations.
Furthermore, discussing the importance of education in essay writing inevitably invites reflection
on the broader societal implications of literacy and access to knowledge. It prompts
consideration of the disparities in educational opportunities and resources, highlighting the
imperative of fostering inclusivity and equity in educational practices.
In essence, crafting an essay on the importance of education in essay writing entails navigating a
rich tapestry of themes—ranging from cognitive development and critical literacy to social
justice and technological innovation. It requires not only intellectual rigor and analytical acumen
but also empathy and insight into the diverse ways in which education shapes individuals and
communities.

The Film Like Mike
The film Like Mike directed by John Schultz was about, a boy in an orphanage who

The story begins when one night Calvin finds a worn pair of Michael Jordan s old
shoes, with the initials MJ inside them. When he puts the shoes on he gains the
ability to play basketball like an NBA star, maybe better than Michael Jordan. One
night the orphanage was outside the Staples Centre, selling chocolates. After the
basketball game that was going on inside, Calvin the boy who found the shoes ,
asked the coach of the knights, Coach Wagner, if he wanted to buy some chocolate.
Wagner brought some chocolates and gave Calvin tickets to the next game. When
Calvin and his friends from the orphanage went to the game, there was a half time
show, and the person who was sitting in the seat that they were sitting in got to play
1 on 1 with the best player of the knights. Tracy Reynolds. Calvin s seat got called
out, so he laces up the shoes that he found and runs down to the court. he smashes
Tracy in the one on one. After the game Coach Wagner asks him if he wants to play
for his team, Calvin says yes. The first game he plays they win, overcoming the
knights losing streak, Calvin goes on to win many games to come and takes Tracy s

At this time Michael Jordan was a big influence on young basketball players as he
was one of the greatest players of all time hence the reason for the name of the title
Like Mike . Another setting in the film was at the orphanage. The orphanage was
an old run down building that looked like it was in the city projects. The
atmosphere was created here by all the children giving it a sad and lonely
atmosphere because most of the kids in here weren t getting adopted. This is the
place where Calvin lives and finds friendship with some of the other orphans and so
there is a lot of laughter and learning that happens between the

Small Penis Anxiety
Small penis anxiety is common to many men even those who do not have what
would technically be considered a small penis. Despite the fact that other
considerations, such as the skill with which a man handles his tool and his penis
health, are also of great importance, men continue to obsess about size.
What is small anyway?
Like so many things, small is in the eye (or mind) of the beholder. So, for that
matter, are average and large. However, a recent survey sheds some light on what the
typical penis length is for a man.
BJU International, which is published by the British Association of Urological
Surgeons, published a paper that looked into 20 studies that collectively evaluated the

codenamed the argonaut conference, transpired from February 4, 1945, to February

representing the United States, Joseph Stalin representing the Soviet Union, and
British Prime Minister Winston Churchill representing Great Britain. There were four
major issues that would dominate the conference, and ultimately decide the fate of
the world post war. The Yalta Conferences primary objective was to frame a post war

First, Stalin declared that the Polish question was a question both of honor and
security. Causing countless grievances, Russia s past desire to eliminate Poland made
the Polish question a question of honor, and in the last thirty years Russia had been
invaded through Poland twice due to its location which made the Polish question a
question of security. Russia concurred with Churchill, saying that Russia wants a
strong, independent and democratic Poland , most likely because building a stronger
Poland answers both the question of honor and security. Afterward, Stalin stated that
the Curzon and Clemenceau fixed the Curzon Line, not Russians; moreover, Poland s
borders would much rather be extended to the West Neisse River. Finally, Stalin
outright rejected the proposal of a Polish government; he believed that the only path
to creating a Polish government was through the consent and advice of the Polish
people. Stalin s concise counterargument set the standard for the topic of the Polish
question, and his resolute stance on the Polish government and Polish boundaries
would remain the dominant
The International Court Of Justice
INTRODUCTION: International court of justice is a principal judicial organ of
United Nations organization and is also known as world court which was
established in 1945 by UN charter and began work in 1946. ICJ is successor of
permanent court of international justice which was dissolved after the 2nd world
war. ICJ is located in The Hague, Netherlands. In judicial settlement, ICJ occupies
a prominent position and decides legal issues of general importance. ICJ
comprises of fifteen judges who are elected for nine years by the general assembly
and the security council, regardless of their nationality. JURISDICTION OF ICJ :
According to Article 93 of the UN charter, all members of UN can automatically be
the parties to the court. For non members states, article 93 also provides the right to
the parties of the court if they wish to and willing to be bound by the jurisdiction of
court. For example, Switzerland used this method to become the party of the court in
1948. The court has jurisdiction over the states when the states accept the jurisdiction
of the court. So the court doesn t have compulsory jurisdiction over the states, since
there cannot be a central political authority over the sovereign states. Therefore, no
international tribunal can exercise jurisdiction over the sovereign states without their
consent. The jurisdiction of ICJ is based upon the consent of the parties. The
principle of consensual basis of the jurisdiction of ICJ
Olivia E. Coolidge s Arachne
In the story Arachne by Olivia E. Coolidge, there was a conflict between Arachne
and the Goddess Athene. Arachne s arrogance was the cause of the conflict
between the two of them. Arachne, a mortal, said that she was equal or even
greater than the Goddess Athene at weaving. In the text it states With my own ten
fingers I gained this skill, and by hard practice from early morning till night. I
never had time to stand looking as you people do while another maiden worked.
Nor if I had, would I give Athene credit because the girl was more skillful than I. As
for Athene s weaving, how could there be finer cloth or more beautiful embroidery
than mine? If Athene herself were to come down and compete with me, she could do
no better than I. This angered Athene so she came down to... Show more content on

In the text it states Stupid old woman, said Arachne indignantly, who gave you the
right to speak in this way to me? It is easy to see that you were never good for
anything in your day, or you would not come here in poverty and rags to gaze at
my skill. If Athene resents my words, let her answer them herself. I have
challenged her to a contest, but she, of course, will not come. It is easy for the
gods to avoid matching their skill with that of men. So while in the the contest
Arachne was given warnings from Athene but she still made something very
insulting to the Gods. Athene insulted by her work decided to turn Arachne into a
spider. In the text it states When the goddess saw this insult glowing in bright
colors on Arachne s loom, she did not wait while the cloth was judged, but stepped
forward, her grey eyes blazing with anger, and tore Arachne s work across. Then she
struck Arachne across the face. Arachne stood there a moment, struggling with
anger, fear, and pride. I will not live under this insult, she cried, and seizing a rope
from the wall, she made a noose and would have hanged
Collateral Duty Inspector Essay
In the aviation side of the Navy there is a job known as Collateral Duty Inspector.
The Collateral Duty Inspector is considered a subject matter expert on the aircraft
they work on. In order to become a Collateral Duty Inspector a sailor must go through
extensive training and meet certain requirements. As a sailor looking to make the
Navya career until retirement, becoming a Collateral Duty Inspector was a major
goal of mine.
I was on deployment with my second command VAW 126 on board the aircraft
carrier Harry S. Truman when I started the process. As a prospective Collateral
Duty Inspector, I was working nights from 1800 to 0600. I would spend most of
the night with my supervisor Palar learning what to do and what to look for. He
would have me follow him as he inspected other sailors work and point out to me
what he inspected and what needed to be corrected by the worker if any. ... Show

The first test was on corrosion control and theory. Corrosion control and theory
consist of being able to identify the different types of corrosion and how they affect
and form on the aircraft. The second test was on the Naval aviation maintenance
program. The Naval aviation maintenance program is the basic guidelines on how a
Navy squadron will operate. The test requires you to know who is responsible for
certain jobs throughout the command and what your responsibilities are as a
Collateral Duty Inspector. This test is the most difficult due to the large amount of
information in the program. The third, and final test is the rating specific test. This
test is made up of different scenarios a sailor in a specific rate might come across
during their time as an inspector. Also including in the test is the ability to find the
correct answer to certain problems and procedures for the aircraft in the maintenance

My Views On Love Country Music
Often times I wonder what my thoughts look like scattered out on a sheet of paper.
Do I ramble on? Am I in control? Does it depend on the topic? Personally I think it
mostly depends on the topic, because I honestly do not care about some of the
topics that are driven into my head by family, friends, or school. When given the
choice of topic I could often ramble for hours and therefore my pen cannot keep
pace with the rambling session that is taking place in my head. I began with my
broad topic; simply stating that I love country music. It made sense to use this topic. I
could listen to this music all day, everyday and still be standing upright. If you talk
to most people in this school they would rather drop dead or beat their head of a wall
than have to listen to country for more than ten minutes. I then mentioned, how I am
not always proud of the fact that I listen to this kind of music. It is uncertain to me
why I made this statement. I suppose this was just my natural thoughtprocess that
goes along with listening to this music. This hobby is not really a secret of mine,
but I try not to run around pointing it out to anyone who would listen. I suppose that
just has to do with my personality. To follow that up, I described the emotional value
I receive from country music. This concept is the biggest reason for me listening to
country music. No matter what song or artist is playing, the music always appears to
throw me back into my typical mellow mood and often

A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings, By Gabriel Garcia
Marquez
A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings by Gabriel Marquez, is a short story
surrounding the protagonist, the very old man. The old man has enormous wings,
but his wings are worn down when they are rained upon and the wind damages
them. He lands in the courtyard of a husband and wide named Elisenda and Pelayo
where they take him into their home. Once the powers of the very old man are
revealed, he is taken advantaged of and used. Gabriel Marquez creates this story
centered on an external conflict of Man vs. Society, particularly the old man and the
community. I thoroughly like Marquez s use of descriptive vivid details, unique
hidden symbolism, and his use of point of view to characterize the characters. In the
story, Marquez uses third person omniscient to show the feelings, actions and
thoughts of the Pelayo and Elisenda to characterize them, which I liked the most.

their neighbor to find out if the old man is dead or... Show more content on

Once the community found out about the healing powers of the very old man, they
were tossing him things to eat through the openings in the wire (145). The
community treats the old man as an animal instead of a human being. This
characterizes the community as cruel people; they did not acknowledge a human
being in front of them, yet a circus animal although he was an angel. The
community is further characterized as cruel people when they burned his side with
an iron for branding steers (147). They tortured the old man due to their own
wickedness and selfishness. The old man, in the community s eyes, is an animal to
them; animals get branded not humans. The old man was motionless and with tears
in his eyes (147). The author uses these details to describe to the reader just how
cruel they were to the old man and what damaged was

In recent years, environmental sustainability has risen to become an everyday
concern. The impact of the current drought and extreme weather events such as
Cyclone Larry on Australian fresh produce supplies has brought into focus the effects
that climate change will have on our business. Paying attention to sustainability is
about future proofing our business.
It s about leadership.
We recognise that Woolworths can take a more prominent role in the debates around
sustainability. It is fair to say that Australian and New Zealand retailers have lagged
behind companies in the United Kingdom and Europe. So we are committed not just
to contributing to the debate but to taking specific, measurable actions to improve
our performance. By virtue of our size, scale, and the complexity of our business,
Woolworths is a significant player in the Australian and New Zealand economies.
With that profile comes not only a responsibility to understand and manage our
impacts, but also a tremendous opportunity to achieve lasting and beneficial change
that extends beyond our own operations. We aim to move to a leadership position on
sustainability.
It s about listening.
As our knowledge of the way in which human societies impact on the natural world
develops, society s expectations of corporate conduct have evolved. Quite rightly,
our stakeholders expect us to consider the broader, long term implications of our
operations as a part of our decision making processes.

Optimism In Night
Hope and optimism can be a very broad topic but that all depends on how you look at
it. And by no means are they the same thing. Optimism is being confident of the
future or confident in the success of something. Hope is a feeling that something
desired might happen which is completely different from actually believing
something and having confidence in it. Some say optimismis a lifestyle choice which
is completely rational. Both of these topics are shown throughout all these following
pieces of literature and in the film. Hope and optimism are both positive things to
live by but these examples can show that maybe sometimes it can backfire on you.
In Night, hope and optimism are also revealed to be dangerous. It s hard for Elie

Many people chose their own lifestyle and live the way they want to live. Beasts of
the Southern Wild, deepens our thinking that perhaps optimism is critically linked
to our ability to come to terms with where we are. Everyone in the bathtub lives
their for a reason and that reason is they do not want to live with a tag on them
wherever they are. When people see them living in the bathtub, they think that they
need help and are stranded there, but what they don t know is that out of the
places they could live, they chose there. This gives them freedom. They can live
however they want with no boundaries. Wink, who is Hushpuppy s father, is an
interesting character to the film. He is a very strong figure who wants no help
with anything. Raising his daughter is all he cares about. Wink has some disease
and only cares about showing his six year old daughter how to live on her own.
One thing we hear wink say is I got it under control (Zeitlin). This is a very strong
quote by him refusing help. This deepens our knowledge for him as a character by
showing us how strong he is as a character and how much dignity he has. It shows
us that he really wants to live his own life. Examples in the film of that are when he
is taken to the Open Arms hospital and finds his own way out to escape back the the
bathtub and again later in
Realism In Umberto D
The Italian Neo realist film Umberto D directed by Vittorio De Sica follows the life
of elderly Umberto Domenico Ferrari, a pensioner struggling to get by after
pensions have been reduced post World War II. In the aftermath of major tragedy
and suffering, such as the war that Umberto lived through, hope can be hard to find.
Society is a web of dependence. Individuals rely on the government to provide a
support structure of benefits and protection. Individuals count on each other for love
and validation. When one strand of the web collapses, disaster can result. In this
case, the government let Umberto down by not providing his pension. His life tilts
on the edge, but the dependence of his dog brings it back into balance. Umberto D

At certain points throughout the movie, he tries to step in as a father figure for
her. He asks her if she has done her grammar assignment. When she responds no he
replies, Everyone takes advantage of the ignorant. Umberto also promises to talk
to the two soldiers who one of which she suspects may be the father to get them to
them to take responsibility. Maria does return the relationship, she trusts him
enough that he is the only one she tells that she is pregnant and does not know who
the father is and she agrees to watch Flike while he is in the hospital, however;
when one of the nuns at the hospital asks Umberto is Maria is his daughter he
jokingly responds yes but she is quick to say no. She leaves soon after. Isolation
brings these two together but their relationship doesn t go much deeper than that and
Maria has too many of her own issues to fully be there for Umberto. The only

Rene Descartes Argument For The Existence Of God
By basing his conclusions on knowledge that has been reasoned to be true through a
method reminiscent of a geometrical proof, Descartes effectively prevents himself
from attributing truth to something that is false. However, the structure of such an
argument is built on the assumption that Descartes s starting point is something
undeniably true and, assuming as such, the next truthwill organically stem from it.
Descartes uses this type of reasoning in his proof of God s existence and his
reasoning that the soul is inherently separate from the body, both found in
Meditations on First Philosophy. Rene Descartes s argument is multi layered, formed
in such a way that each subsequent layer depends on that one preceding it, but by
being structured... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Descartes not only uses the methods of mathematical proofs but also uses
mathematical concepts themselves, like geometric shapes, to serve as an example of
something both clear and distinct. However, when translating the method some
adjustments must be made to ensure the structure of his argument. Descartes, in
explaining the qualities of a triangle, notes, I did not see anything in all [these
qualities] to assure me that there was any triangle in the world (Discourse, 20).
However, there is a fundamental difference between God and triangles. Descartes
highlights the differences with the idea of infinite perfection (Discourse, 24).
Descartes s argument for the existence of God is more deeply throughout in
Meditations on First Philosophy. He follows the same method, through starting what
is easily known and using that as the foundation for his argument. Descartes starts
with himself declaring himself [a] thing that thinks and reinforces that this idea is
obvious and could not be explained more clearly, similar to the concepts of math he
touches on earlier in his work (Meditations,
The War On Terror ( Wot )
The War on Terror (WoT), also known as the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT),
refers to the international military campaign that started after the September 11
attacks on the United States.[47]
U.S. President George W. Bush first used the term War on Terror on 20 September
2001.[47] The Bush administration and the western media have since used the term
to argue a global military, political, legal, and conceptual struggle against both
organizations designated terrorist and regimes accused of supporting them. It was
originally used with a particular focus on countries associated with Islamic terrorism
organizations including al Qaeda and like minded organizations.
In 2013, President Barack Obama announced that the United States was no longer
pursuing a War on Terror, as the military focus should be on specific enemies rather
than a tactic. He stated, We must define our effort not as a boundless Global War on
Terror , but rather as a series of persistent, targeted efforts to dismantle specific
networks of violent extremists that threaten America. [48]
The phrase War on Terror has been used to specifically refer to the ongoing military
campaign led by the U.S., UK and their allies against organizations and regimes
identified by them as terrorist, and excludes other independent counter terrorist
operations and campaigns such as those by Russia and India. The conflict has also
been referred to by names other than the War on Terror.

Jimi Hendrix: Reflections of the Man Through the Development of His Albums
James McGuire UWC 4, Hampton November 4, 1996 On November 27, 1942,Jimi
Hendrix was born as John Allen Hendrix in Washington at Seattle General Hospital.
His childhood was not a privileged one, however, he did indulge himself in one
particular way: Jimi loved to play the guitar. At first he played an old acoustic, and
later a cheap Silvertone electric, which were both strung for a lefty on a right
handed guitar, one of the defining Hendrix traits (Murray 34 5) . As a teenager,
young Jimi listened to the music which affected his music so greatly later: #8220;

The structure and lyrics on most of the songs on Are You Experienced? form the
basis upon which it is possible to measure the change in the style of Hendrix, both
lyrically and musically, that were to occur until his untimely death in 1970. The
commercial success of the album and the confidence that Jimi must have gained from
reviews which called him things like #8220;an absolute master #8221; allowed Jimi
to make smooth transitions to whatever he felt like experimenting with or changing.
The importance in Are You Experienced? lies in the fact that it was successful, and
that the Jimi Hendrix that everyone heard on that album would be acceptable whether
he was playing straight forward blues, playing #8220;Stone Free #8221; or covering
#8220;Hey Joe. #8221; Are You Experienced? represents the starting point from
which Jimi Hendrix would take his new style of music and make himself into one of
the most influential musical figures of his time. The true arrival of Jimi Hendrix
occurred with the release of The Jimi Hendrix Experience #8217;s second studio
effort, Axis: Bold As Love. With this album, production costs were estimated at ten
thousand pounds, allowing Jimi the valuable studio time he needed in order to more
completely master his craft. Approximately three thousand of those pounds were
spent production costs of the album sleeve, which picture Jimi and his bandmates in
and surrounded by Indian imagery, to which Jimi responded:
Varsity Vs. Club Sports
The ball is rolling down the field with players from each team chasing after it, who
will get there first? The home team wins the race and passes the ball to their
teammate. They settle the ball, gather their footing, and kick the ball at the goal.
The goalie dives and misses the ball as it hits the back of the net. The team rushes
toward each other celebrating the goal with a team hug. Club sports are just as
entertaining as varsity sports yet most people don t see it this way. This is only one
of the multiple differences between varsity and club soccer. Most varsity athletes
take for granted their trainer access and preferential treatment. Yet participants in
club sports are not even allowed to talk to a trainer or use the school vans... Show

There are multiple vans sitting out in the South Parking Lot, that hardly ever get
used. There is no reason why the Athletic Department can t let us use those buses
to drive ourselves to games. They don t need to pay a driver, we can drive
ourselves to save money. This is an easy fix and would make traveling for club
teams much easier. It would also eliminate the chances of getting separated and
lost. The Athletic Department may object to this solution because, it is a liability
to the school and will cost the school gas money. However, club soccer fundraises
for uniforms, therefore we could also fundraise a little extra money to fill up the
gas tanks for the buses. They could also make club athletes fill out liability forms,
like going on a field trip in high school, that says the school is not liable for anything
that happens. Field space is limited and this makes it difficult for both varsity and
club to find space and time to practice. Take soccer for example. There are three grass
soccer fields available to play on. However, one is called Melucci Stadium and is
used strictly for games and is off limits for practices. Now we are down to two
fields, neither of which have lights. This makes a difference because both varsity
soccer teams have a field from four to six. Now where does that leave club soccer?
Well, they let us have the fields from six to eight, yet around
Schizophrenia In Kurt Vonnegut s Breakfast Of Champions
Many would argue that Kurt Vonnegut severed the Billy Pilgrim from within
himself as a therapeutic process to save his own sanity. (Broer 95) Billy Pilgrim
resembles Vonnegut through his experiences at war, as a prisoner and surviving the
bombing of Dresden. Both men also survived a plane crash and have an detachment
to their emotions. (Klinkowitz, Vonnegut in Fact, 5) Vonnegut used the creation of
his character to cope and treat himself. By making a separate character, he has
created a person to project onto and embody his trauma. In one of Vonnegut s novels,
Breakfast of Champions (1973), he tells readers that schizophrenia has always
fascinated him. He continues to say that he did not know for certain if he had

[In 1944], Billy first came unstuck while the Second World War was in progress
(Vonnegut 18). This would reason out schizophrenia according to Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. The manual states a traumatic event would
not cause schizophrenia and common symptoms would include hallucinations,
aggression and hearing voices. Although Billy suffers from hallucinations, he does
not meet the threshold of being a schizophrenic. It could be further interpreted that
Billy Pilgrim suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). According to the
American Psychiatric Association (1994), symptoms of PTSD include re
experiencing trauma through memory, hyperarousal, avoidance, and numbing general
responsiveness. Billy shows these symptoms throughout the novel: being spastic in
time metaphorically indicates Billy s reliving the memories of traumatic events, Billy
avoids conversation about the war and his experiences with other characters, and
Billy shows no emotion suggesting numbness. (Vees Gulani
Who Is A Sympathetic Character In The Razor s Edge
In The Razor s Edge by Somerset Maugham Isabel was a sympathetic character
because she loved Larry, but married Gray. She understood that her love for Larry
would not be enough for his happiness, so she let him go. She married Gray not for
her happiness, but to appease her family. Her ability to relinquish her emotions,
future, and her family, made her selfless. Elizabeth was engaged to Larry for the first
two parts of The Razor s Edge, but her lovefor him continued throughout the novel.
Larry was lost though and felt the need to explore an avenue that he was not
accustomed to. By being engaged he felt anchored or forced to stay in Chicago
because that is what society was dictating. Isabel had been brought up a certain way
and she accepted the principles that had been instilled into her (49). This meant that
with the small amount of money that Larry had they could not raise a family
together and travel the world like Larry wanted in an acceptable way. She
contemplates going with Larry even though he doesn t have the funds, but she
cannot fathom the idea of living below her means if she doesn t have to. Larry

trying to justify the loss of her love. This means she did not want to marry Gray, but
instead wanted to marry Larry. What she says that her Mother and Uncle Elliot

embodiment of social justice and with his approval she can climb the social ladder. I

The Yellowstone Wolf Controversy Essay
One of the biggest reasons for the reintroduction of wolves back into Yellowstone
was that they had originally roamed from Yellowstone all the way down to Mexico.
While a lot of people were in favor of the reintroduction of the wolves, there were
many who were against it. The main people who were against the reintroduction of
the wolves back into the park were the ranchers who made a living in the areas
surrounding the park.
During 70 years of absence from the Rockies, the Grey Wolf had been protected
under the Endangered Species Act that was passed in 1973. Since the wolf is
under the protection of Endangered Species Act a person could be punished with up

With this plan they decided on three areas in which to reintroduce wolves; Northwest
Montana, the Yellowstone Ecosystem, and Central Idaho. In 1987 they released
another plan that was more detailed than the first few. The recovery goal for the
Grey Wolf was ten breeding pairs per area, which meant ten packs of ten wolves, or
100 total. With the release of the 1987 plan, a lot of opposition was raised.
For the first time in 70 years, the howl of the Grey Wolf is being heard throughout
Yellowstone Park (Sanders, 2000). In January of 1995, 14 wolves from separate
packs in Canada were trapped and transported to Yellowstone. Once in the park the
wolves were placed in one acre acclimation pens. In total there were three pens
scattered across the northern portion of Yellowstone: one a Crystal Creek, another at
Rose Creek, and the last at Soda Butte. During the wolves time spent in these pens
they were fed winter kill, or road kill. The packs that were formed in these pens were
released in the winters of 1995 1996 and also again in 1996 1997 for a second release
period (Sanders, 2000). In 1995 fourteen wolves were released and in 1996 seventeen
were released. In 1997 there were 64 pups born and since 1995, 33 wolves have died
in the Yellowstone area.
With the reintroduction of the Grey Wolf into the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
there have been many people who are opposed. Mainly the ranchers in Montana

Dreams Essay example
Dreams
When we sleep we do much more than just rest our weary bones ; we tap into our
subconscious mind (Ullman and Zimmerman 1979). The subconscious has much to
offer about oneself. The average human being spends one third of their life in sleep
and during each sleep approximently two hours is spent dreaming (Ullman and
Zimmerman 1979). These dreams are important because they are the voice of our
subconscious. Dreams and theories on dreams go as far back as 2000 BC in Egypt.

The imagery in dreams comes from daily life (Freud 1900). You must understand
that the subconscious can only talk in a language that the conscious can
understand, therefore it uses imagery. So to put it in lay terms You ll never see an
object in dream that you haven t seen in your daily life (Ullman and Zimmerman
1979). This statement raises an interesting question. What do blind people who
never see anything dream about? The answer to this question is even more
puzzling. The subconscious speaks to blind people using all other sensory
modalities such as hearing, taste, touch, and smell. Instead of seeing things blind
people will hear or smell things in their dreams. Helen Keller talked of seeing in her
dreams much as she saw when she was awake (let it be stated that Helen Keller was
blind). The subconscious is usually the right side of the brain or the opposite side of
persons writing hand. Within the subconscious lie different types of things such as
suppressed emotions, creativity, and basic human instinct (Ullman and Zimmerman

The Between Neocolonialism And Classical Colonialism
Colonialism is often regarded as one of the greatest atrocities committed by mankind.
Throughout history, civilizations have been exploited and oppressed primarily by
European settlers that took advantage of indigenous people s labor and extracted
resources from the land. Indigenous people were often treated as slaves by colonizers
that profited from the resources that they produced and injected into the global
economy. Many regard colonialismas a historical event that human kind has ascended
from, however, it still exists in modified and very similar ways in the present. This
phenomenon is often referred to as neocolonialism. I will examine the properties of
both neocolonialism and classical colonialism by observing their similarities and
differences regarding monetary economics and developmental economics and
examine the social impact of these perceptions.
Despite the monetary systems of classical colonialism being much less complex than
those of neocolonialism and post colonialism, the monetary aspects of classical
colonialism are a completely separate category of discrimination upon the
disadvantaged. Indigenous tribes often had their own unique methods of accounting
and organizing transactions. These methods were sufficient in determining tribal
obligations (Goswami, 1984, p. 56 60). During the colonial period in Africa, Colonial
governments established uniform monetary systems and abolished pre existing
currencies, usually without compensation (Manning, 1974, p.

Miss Emily go insane. Miss Emily was an old school southern woman trapped in a
modernizing society. She tried desperately to keep to her old ways, but the
changes that happened around her were inevitable. This made me feel like
something was going to go wrong very early in the story. It became very apparent
to me that Emily did not deal well with change. Throughout the story, I felt sorry
for her, because I do not deal well with change either. I find it hard and stressful to
deal with. Thus I can see how her changing environment directly impacted Miss
Emily s life. When Emily met the love of her life she slowly became obsessed with
him. This was until one day he betrayed her by spreading rumors about her that
weren t true. As the town grew more and more people heard these rumors and
began to think less of Miss Emily. This along with her sheltered and isolated
childhood could have been what drove Miss Emily to become a murder later on in
her life. There are many events that occurred throughout the story that triggered my
overall reaction. I noticed that the words iron gray hair (124) were repeated several
times throughout the story. This not only gave an idea of Emily s age, but added a
sense of mystery to the scene. One

The Taiga Shield Ecozone is made up of wetlands, shrublands, meadows and open
forests. This Ecozone is a subarctic region therefore, the cold temperatures make it
hard for vegetation to grow. There are trees, such as the coniferous species black
and white spruce, tamarack, and dwarf pines. Most of them are stunted and do not
reach full growth because of the climate. The tree line is at the northern edge of the
Taiga Shield Ecozone and beyond the tree line is where the arctic tundra is. The
soils found in this Ecozone are very thin and highly leached. The Taiga Shield has
igneous, metamorphic and, sedimentary rock. These types of rocks are located in the

Bulimia Nervosa: Argument Although bulimia nervosa can be treated in multiple
fashions, there is a specific treatment that is proven to be the most effective in not
only bulimia nervosa, but also other anxiety related disorders. This effective treatment
is an specific form of short term psychotherapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is
productive in both reducing the amount of times one may purge in a day and
diminishing the entire disorder altogether; it is a diverse set of problem specific
interventions. According to Brian Sheldon, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a
psychological approach for the treatment of family, personal, and mental problems.
This technique is intended to help clients ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike interpersonal psychotherapy, with the use of medication, CBT attains
several forms of intervention and models that can be used for certain situations.
These forms are tailored not only to the affected patient but also toward the patient
s family. There is therapy for the perfect, overprotective, and chaotic family. These
forms all have specifics that set their therapeutic sessions apart, but are similar in
that they all begin with a technique called joining. Joining is basically an
establishment of alliance between the therapist and the family (Killian). Therapists
are advised to discover how the family members feel toward the problem in this
situation. A way of ensuring family involvement would be to set specific guidelines
about the affect patient s behavior and the family s reactions toward the behavior.
For example, a therapist may initiate a plan in which the patient must be responsible
for replacing the family food in which he/she binges on. This activity will enhance
the removal of the rest of the family to be in constant fear for the patient; it will also
allow the patient to begin to regain control of one aspect of his/her life. Common
goals within this type of family include regulation of emotional availability between
the parent(s) and the bulimic patient, facilitation of direct communication, and
negotiation of conflict and its resolution (Killian). Besides interventions, there are
also models that can be used to deal
Waste In The Victorian Era
Sewage would only worsen the issues of the Victorian Era making it terribly
inferior to many citizens of London. Hospitals were not the only problem because
the disposal of waste might have been just as evenly bad. How to dispose of the
accumulated waste was a problem that preoccupied the minds of countless reformers,
engineers, scientists, and amateur sanitarians, but the problem acquired a particular
urgency because the retention of waste in the city was associated with disease and
even death... (Cleansing the City p. 9 10). Many places in Londonhad terrible sewage
issues and it became evident that the sewage was so bad because no one knew
how to dispose of the waste. The waste was very dangerous and many people did
not want to deal with it due to the many diseases and bad liabilities carried with it.
The nineteenth century needed a sanitary reform right away because in many places
like London were being taken over and run by sanitation issues. Together the two
passages reveal the heightened symbolism of filth in the period and, more
specifically, the way filth embodied the challenges of the urban condition. Indeed,
sanitary discourse became an important vehicle for expressing concerns about the
disorder associated with the Victorian city (Cleansing the City p. 14). The following
two passages the author is referring to are from Dombey and Son by Charles Dickens,
an influential writer of the Victorian Era. London was literally demanding change
because the sanitary reform

JURISDICTION OF ICJ : According to Article 93 of the UN charter, all members of UN can automatically be the parties to the court. For non members states, article 93 also provides the right to the parties of the court if they wish to and willing to be bound by the jurisdiction of court. For example, Switzerland used this method to become the party of the court in 1948. The court has jurisdiction over the states when the states accept the jurisdiction of the court. So the court doesn t have compulsory jurisdiction over the states, since there cannot be a central political authority over the sovereign states. Therefore, no international tribunal can exercise jurisdiction over the sovereign states without their consent. The jurisdiction of ICJ is based upon the consent of the parties. Personally I think it mostly depends on the topic, because I honestly do not care about some of the topics that are driven into my head by family, friends, or school. When given the choice of topic I could often ramble for hours and therefore my pen cannot keep pace with the rambling session that is taking place in my head. I began with my broad topic; simply stating that I love country music. It made sense to use this topic. I could listen to this music all day, everyday and still be standing upright. If you talk to most people in this school they would rather drop dead or beat their head of a wall than have to listen to country for more than ten minutes. I then mentioned, how I am not always proud of the fact that I listen to this kind of music. It is uncertain to me why I made this statement. I suppose this was just my natural thoughtprocess that goes along with listening to this music. This hobby is not really a secret of mine, but I try not to run around pointing it out to anyone who would listen. I suppose that just has to do with my personality. To follow that up, I described the emotional value I receive from country music. This concept is the biggest reason for me listening to country music. No matter what song or artist is playing, the music always appears to throw me back into my typical mellow mood and often

Rene Descartes Argument For The Existence Of God By basing his conclusions on knowledge that has been reasoned to be true through a method reminiscent of a geometrical proof, Descartes effectively prevents himself from attributing truth to something that is false. However, the structure of such an argument is built on the assumption that Descartes s starting point is something undeniably true and, assuming as such, the next truthwill organically stem from it. Descartes uses this type of reasoning in his proof of God s existence and his reasoning that the soul is inherently separate from the body, both found in Meditations on First Philosophy. • 21. The War On Terror ( Wot ) The War on Terror (WoT), also known as the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), refers to the international military campaign that started after the September 11 attacks on the United States.[47] U.S. President George W. Bush first used the term War on Terror on 20 September 2001.[47] The Bush administration and the western media have since used the term to argue a global military, political, legal, and conceptual struggle against both organizations designated terrorist and regimes accused of supporting them. It was originally used with a particular focus on countries associated with Islamic terrorism organizations including al Qaeda and like minded organizations. In 2013, President Barack Obama announced that the United States was no longer pursuing a War on Terror, as the military focus should be on specific enemies rather than a tactic. He stated, We must define our effort not as a boundless Global War on Terror , but rather as a series of persistent, targeted efforts to dismantle specific networks of violent extremists that threaten America. [48] The phrase War on Terror has been used to specifically refer to the ongoing military campaign led by the U.S., UK and their allies against organizations and regimes identified by them as terrorist, and excludes other independent counter terrorist operations and campaigns such as those by Russia and India. The conflict has also been referred to by names other than the War on Terror. In 1984, the Reagan Administration used

Club sports are just as entertaining as varsity sports yet most people don t see it this way. This is only one of the multiple differences between varsity and club soccer. The Athletic Department may object to this solution because, it is a liability to the school and will cost the school gas money. However, club soccer fundraises for uniforms, therefore we could also fundraise a little extra money to fill up the gas tanks for the buses. They could also make club athletes fill out liability forms, like going on a field trip in high school, that says the school is not liable for anything that happens. Field space is limited and this makes it difficult for both varsity and club to find space and time to practice. Take soccer for example. There are three grass soccer fields available to play on. However, one is called Melucci Stadium and is used strictly for games and is off limits for practices. Now we are down to two fields, neither of which have lights. This makes a difference because both varsity soccer teams have a field from four to six. Now where does that leave club soccer? Well, they let us have the fields from six to eight, yet around

With the release of the 1987 plan, a lot of opposition was raised. For the first time in 70 years, the howl of the Grey Wolf is being heard throughout Yellowstone Park (Sanders, 2000). • 38. The Between Neocolonialism And Classical Colonialism Colonialism is often regarded as one of the greatest atrocities committed by mankind. Throughout history, civilizations have been exploited and oppressed primarily by European settlers that took advantage of indigenous people s labor and extracted resources from the land. Indigenous people were often treated as slaves by colonizers that profited from the resources that they produced and injected into the global economy. Many regard colonialismas a historical event that human kind has ascended from, however, it still exists in modified and very similar ways in the present. This phenomenon is often referred to as neocolonialism. I will examine the properties of both neocolonialism and classical colonialism by observing their similarities and differences regarding monetary economics and developmental economics and examine the social impact of these perceptions. Despite the monetary systems of classical colonialism being much less complex than those of neocolonialism and post colonialism, the monetary aspects of classical colonialism are a completely separate category of discrimination upon the disadvantaged. Indigenous tribes often had their own unique methods of accounting and organizing transactions. These methods were sufficient in determining tribal obligations (Goswami, 1984, p. 56 60). During the colonial period in Africa, Colonial governments established uniform monetary systems and abolished pre existing currencies, usually without compensation (Manning, 1974, p.

I believe that this and several other combinations of events are what made the main character Miss Emily go insane. Miss Emily was an old school southern woman trapped in a modernizing society. She tried desperately to keep to her old ways, but the changes that happened around her were inevitable. This made me feel like something was going to go wrong very early in the story. It became very apparent to me that Emily did not deal well with change. Throughout the story, I felt sorry for her, because I do not deal well with change either. I find it hard and stressful to deal with. Thus I can see how her changing environment directly impacted Miss Emily s life. When Emily met the love of her life she slowly became obsessed with him. This was until one day he betrayed her by spreading rumors about her that weren t true. As the town grew more and more people heard these rumors and began to think less of Miss Emily. This along with her sheltered and isolated childhood could have been what drove Miss Emily to become a murder later on in her life. There are many events that occurred throughout the story that triggered my overall reaction. I noticed that the words iron gray hair (124) were repeated several times throughout the story. This not only gave an idea of Emily s age, but added a sense of mystery to the scene. One

Hospitals were not the only problem because the disposal of waste might have been just as evenly bad. How to dispose of the accumulated waste was a problem that preoccupied the minds of countless reformers, engineers, scientists, and amateur sanitarians, but the problem acquired a particular urgency because the retention of waste in the city was associated with disease and even death... (Cleansing the City p. 9 10). Many places in Londonhad terrible sewage issues and it became evident that the sewage was so bad because no one knew how to dispose of the waste. The waste was very dangerous and many people did not want to deal with it due to the many diseases and bad liabilities carried with it. The nineteenth century needed a sanitary reform right away because in many places like London were being taken over and run by sanitation issues.
