Matt 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom
of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Matt 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say,
Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friendof publicans and
sinners. But wisdom is justifiedof her children.
Matt 11:23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exaltedunto heaven, shalt be
brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in
thee, had been done in Sodom, it wouldhave remaineduntil this day.

disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

Gen 41:5-6 5 And he slept and dreamedthe second time: and,
behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good. 6
And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung
up after them.
Mark 4:26-29 26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man
should cast seed into the ground; 27 And should sleep, and rise night
and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not
how. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade,
then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29 But when the fruit is
brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the
harvest is come.
Mark 4:23-24 23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 24 And
he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye
mete, it shall be measuredto you: and unto you that hear shall more
be given.

12:4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the showbread,
which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him,
but only for the priests?
v.3,4) Christ chose this event because David was a type of Christ and because of the set
up of the tabernacle (Mark 2:25-28). The “shewbread” shows some things:
1. It was cooked daily (God gave Israel a daily provision in the wilderness),
2. There was a Light shining on the bread from the golden candlestick (the Holy
Spirit),
3. There were two rows of six loaves (66 books in your Bible).

*David was supposed to be on the throne at this time1Sam.15:23, 16:13, but he was not. He
was in exile(1Sam. 21:3); this compares to the fact that Jesus Christ was [is] the King Mal.
1:14, but He was in exile while the devil is ruling the kingdoms (Matt. 4) of the world.
12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the
priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Num 29:32 And on the seventh day seven bullocks, two rams, and
fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish:
John 7:22-23 22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not
because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day

There can be two high priest at the same time (or a primary and
secondaryhigh priest).

through the corn fields;and his disciplesplucked the ears of corn, and did
eat, rubbing [them] in [their] hands.
6:2 And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is
not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
6:3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this,
what David did, when himself was an hungered, and they which were with
him;
Lev 5:17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are
forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he
wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because
thou hast rejectedknowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt

6. be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I
will also forget thy children.
Three indictments of ignorance:

6:4 How he went into the house of God,and did take and eat the
showbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful
to eat but for the priests alone?
6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the
sabbath.
Don’t exalt the blessing of the Lord above the Lord of the blessing.
Mal 2
1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2 If ye will not
hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name,
saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will
curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do
not lay it to heart.
