2. THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS
Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and
adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall
no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in
the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and
three nights in the heart of the earth.
Luke_9:22
Luk_9:22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things,
and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes,
and be slain, and be raised the third day.

FASTING AND PRAYER
Mat 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and
fasting.
Mat 17:22 And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto
them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of
men:
Mat 17:23 And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall
be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.

3. 40 DAYS AND FORTY NIGHTS
Mat 17:19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said,
Why could not we cast him out?
Mat 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your
unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain
of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove
hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall
be impossible unto you.

4. 40 DAYS AND FORTY NIGHTS
MATTHEW 4:1-11
Mat 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the
wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Mat 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights,
he was afterward an hungred.
Mat 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou
be the Son of God, command that these stones be made
bread.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall
not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth
out of the mouth of God.
Mat 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and
setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
Mat 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast
thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels
charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear
thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt
not tempt the Lord thy God.
Mat 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding
high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the
world, and the glory of them;

5. Mat 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee,
if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan:
for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and
him only shalt thou serve.
Mat 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels
came and ministered unto him.

LUKE 4 :1-15
Luk 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from
Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
Luk 4:2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those
days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he
afterward hungered.
Luk 4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of
God, command this stone that it be made bread.
Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That
man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Luk 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain,
shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment
of time.
Luk 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give
thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me;
and to whomsoever I will I give it.

6. Luk 4:7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
Luk 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee
behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the
Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Luk 4:9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a
pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son
of God, cast thyself down from hence:
Luk 4:10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge
over thee, to keep thee:
Luk 4:11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at
any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Luk 4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said,
Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Luk 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation,
he departed from him for a season.
Luk 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into
Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the
region round about.
Luk 4:15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified
of all.

7. FASTING AND PRAYER:
TIME TO DECIDE:
This is the time to decide to share in His glory because
a time is coming when none will have the free will to decide
anymore.
The forty days fasting, the seventy-two hours fasting
and the regular Thursdays fasting have to a great extent
helped to draw us closer to God. Fasting helps to mortify the
flesh and inject the power of the Holy Spirit into our bodies.
We have to do the work of Our Father just like Our Lord
Jesus Christ did.
The victory of Our Lord Jesus Christ over the world is
no news, being that He was predestined to overcome the
world. If we follow His designed path with devotion and
truth, we will share in His glory.
FREEDOM FROM SIN:
It is rather unfortunate that you steal, fornicate, hate,
murder, covet, and indeed indulge in evil practices, believing
that a sinful life is a way to enjoy your life to the fullest. You
refuse to serve God because according to you, serving God
leads you to temptation. You are always ready to run away
from any slight temptation.

FASTING AND PRAYER: ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD.
(72 HOURS OF FASTING: Matthew 12:40)
The three days dry fasting signifies the three days Our Lord
Jesus Christ remained in the grave. He fasted for forty days
and forty nights. We are fortunate because we only have to
fast for three days and three nights. When you subject
yourself to the three days dry fasting the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit will take dominion over your mortal body. The
three days dry fasting is to sanctify us so we hear and
accept the Father's gospel, and be able to spread it to those
who are not as fortunate as we are.
Brotherhood Brethren observe FORTY DAYS FASTING
(Matthew 4:1-2) during EASTER, and Fasting (6:00 A.M. TO
6:00 P.M. DAILY) during the other PENTECOSTAL PERIODS.
PRAYER IS THE KEY: Pray always, day and night, as many
times as possible. Pray for the government and all sorts of
people and the Brotherhood. (Acts 6:4).
Do not refrain from preaching the gospel and praying; for
this constitutes a shield. Offer short but faithful prayers

9. before and after meals, and conversation. In short, before
you start and end anything, a short faithful prayer is
essential.
