Genesis 1:1 Notice how God’s first sentence declares that atheism, pantheism, polytheism, fatalism,
materialism and evolution are all dead wrong. It is taken for granted that God exists, that He is one God
(as opposed to “gods” or “the gods”), that He had a specific plan of creation, that He is personally
involved with His creation (Gen 1:1-31), that He created all matter, and that all of this happened suddenly,
rather than evolving over billions of years. Genesis 1:1 is God’s “six-shooter” that fills this world’s belief
system full of holes.

Genesis 1:13 This is the first verse in the Bible that doesn’t mention God. It “just happens” to be verse
thirteen, the number of rebellion (Gen. 14:4).
Genesis 1:16 The greater and lesser lights are the sun and the moon, which picture Christ and the
church. Consequently, both Christ and the church are called the “light of the world” (Mat. 5:14; John
8:12). The church “rules” (spiritually) during the present church age night (Luke 12:38). Christ will rule
during the coming millennial “day” (II Pet. 3:8) after He returns.
Genesis 1:20 The first mention of “life” involves water, explaining why physical birth is a water birth (John
3:5; Pro. 5:15-18; Isa. 48:1). To be “born of water” has nothing to do with baptism.

Genesis 1:26 Man was originally made in God’s “image,” but he lost that image only two chapters
afterwards when he became a sinner. No one today is born in God’s image. It is only after being “born
again” in Christ that one has God’s image (Col. 3:10; Heb. 1:3; II Cor. 4:4).
Genesis 2:2 The chapter division separates the seventh day of rest from the six days of creation,
matching perfectly God’s 7,000 year plan where Christ’s rule in the seventh millennium is separated from
the preceding 6,000 years of human dominion.
Genesis 2:7 Man is a three part being, a spirit, a soul, and a body (I Ths. 5:23), corresponding to the fact
that God is a Trinity (I John 5:7).
Genesis 2:16 Notice how the word “freely” is used in reference to eating of the trees of the garden,
including the tree of life. This pictures the fact that salvation is a “free gift” (Rom. 5:15-18). Eve
conveniently omits this word while conversing with the devil in Genesis 3:2, so men omit the word today
when speaking of salvation. Thankfully, the word is not omitted in Revelation 22:17.
Genesis 3:1 The first thing Satan says in the Bible is positive, and it is through “good words and fair
speeches” (Rom. 16:18) that he continues his deception to this day. The power of positive thinking can
get you into a lot of trouble.
Genesis 3:7 Generally, the fig leaves picture man’s self-righteousness. Doctrinally, the fig leaves point to
Israel’s self-righteousness (Mat. 24:32; Mark 11:12-14; Rom. 10:3).
Genesis 3:9 God asking Adam “Where art thou?” is most interesting. The Lord obviously knew where
Adam was, so the question is being asked for Adam’s instruction, not for the Lord’s information. Adam
was now in sin, and he needed to face it, just as billions today need to face it.
Genesis 3:15 This is is first messianic promise in the Bible, the first promise that God would send a
Redeemer to overthrow the work and kingdom of Satan. It’s also a promise of the Virgin Birth since the
verse says “her seed.” A woman has no seed, unless God gives her one, which He did with Mary (Mat.
1:18-20).
Genesis 3:17 So the ground is under a curse, a curse that will remain in effect until Jesus returns.
Consequently, the Old Testament ends with the word “curse.” To signify this, Christ was crucified with a
crown of thorns. This curse will be lifted when Jesus returns (Isa. 11:6-9; Rom. 8:18-23; Rev. 22:3).
Genesis 3:21 The coats of skins were provided by God as a replacement for the fig aprons that Adam and
Eve had made for a covering. The fig aprons were unacceptable because
(1) God didn’t provide them and
(2) no blood was shed to get them. The animal skins undoubtedly came from a lamb (Rev. 13:8; Pro.
27:26).

Genesis 4:2 Genesis delights in presenting contrasts (Jacob and Esau, Isaac and Ishmael, fig leaves and
skins, etc.). Here the contrast is between two men, representing saved and lost people. Abel, being a
shepherd, pictures Christ and the righteous (John 10). Cain, being a tiller “of the ground,” pictures
antichrist and the wicked who are of this world (I John 3:12).
Genesis 4:7 Some people are “accepted” while others are not. Still today there are only two kinds of
people in the world: those accepted in Christ on the basis of blood sacrifice (Eph. 1:6) and those who are
not accepted.
Genesis 4:21 Notice Jubal’s connection with music. Hence: jubilee.
Genesis 5:1 The phase “book of the generations” is found only twice in the Bible. The first occurrence is
here where the context is the generations of Adam. As these generations are listed, the word “died” is
recorded eight times because “in Adam all die” (I Cor. 15:22). The other occurrence is the “book of the
generation of Jesus Christ” in Matthew 1:1, a chapter in which no death is recorded (since Christ is life)
and the word “begat” is found thirty-nine times.
Genesis 5:2 God called “their name Adam,” which explains why the wife takes the husband’s name unto
this day. Many modern women like to show their rebellion by keeping their maiden name in a hyphenated
form (Hillary Rodham-Clinton, etc.), failing to realize that the maiden name was also a man’s name.
Genesis 5:3 Adam begetting a son “in his own likeness, after his image” means that he begot a sinner in
the image of sinful man, not in the image of God.

Genesis 6:4 These giants were literal giants that were produced as a result of angels cohabitating with
the “daughters of men.” These are the angels that “kept not their first estate”
The “also after that” (Gen. 6:4) indicates that such activity also occurred after the flood, which explains
the existence of giants throughout the Old Testament (Num. 13:33; Deu. 3:11-13; Jsh. 18:16; I Sam. 17:4;
II Sam. 21:16; I Chr. 20:8, etc.). Satan’s plan in all of this was to destroy the promised seed of Genesis
3:15, an effort that he continues in various ways throughout the Old Testament.
Genesis 9:6 Capital punishment for murderers is ordained of God before the Old Tesament law, during
the the law (Exo. 21:12; Num. 35), and after the law (Rom. 13:1-4; Acts 25:11).
Genesis 9:15 So the polar ice caps are not going to succomb to global warming and melt over the entire
planet. The next flood will be with fire, not water (II Pet. 3:10).
Gen 9:24 This could be either a homosexual act or incest Deut 27:20; Lev 18:6; Lev 18:18; Gen 10:19;
Gen 19:5-13; Rom 1:24-26
Genesis 9:25-27 Dealing with the race issue, this is one of the most unpopular passages in the Bible.
Clearly, one race is to expand, one is to be blessed, and one is to serve. The “all men are created equal”
bit is nonsense. One man and his wife were created unequal, and everyone else was born into all sorts of
families and conditions.
Gen 10:11-12 Asshur is a son of Shem (Gen 10:22), showing that when the Hamites come in to town,
the Shemites head for the suburbs.
Asshur, coming from the one who was “blessed by the Lord God,” does not “buy” the scene put on in
Gen 11 . He leaves and founds Nineveh,
“Rehoboth, and Calah, and Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.”
“The same is a great city” can refer to Nineveh or to Resen (if Resen was the modern Nimrod). The
chances are Nineveh includes Calah and Resen. They are suburbs, and the great city is Nineveh. (Jonah
3:3 and Nahum 1, 2, 3)
Genesis 10:19 Notice how the first mention of Sodom is in connection with the Canaanites from Ham,
which should surprise no one who has read the previous chapter.
Genesis 11:3-4 Plenty is said about “us,” but nothing is said about God, a common occurrence when men
decide to get together for the “common good” of man. See the United Nations charter for a fine example.
When men get together, the first thing they do is kick God out.
Genesis 12:3 This is the original blessing on the Jewish people and on their friends. The blessing passes
down from Abraham to Isaac (Gen. 25:11), then to Jacob (Gen. 27:29), then on to the twelve tribes and
their descendants (Gen. 48:9, 16, 20; 49:25; Num. 6:23-27; Psa. 33:12, etc.).
Genesis 12:10 This is the first famine in the Bible, and it was sent to test Abraham. Like most of us, when
adversity came he entered a state of panic and made a foolish choice. Abraham had just been given the
land of Canaan (Genesis 12:7), yet now he leaves the promised land for the securities of Egypt, a type of
the world. Naturally, when he reaches Egypt he finds even more trouble.
Genesis 14:4 The first mention of thirteen is in the context of rebellion.
Gen 14:13 Confederate 99% of the time a bad rebellion Ps 83:5; Prov 11:21; Isa 7:2; Isa 8:9; Isa 54:15;
Zech 14:1-3;
Genesis 15:5 The old English “tell” means to count. Hence: a bank teller.
Genesis 15:18 So, the little piece of real estate that Israel currently possesses is only the front lawn of
what she’s going to get in the future. God is very interested in land (the word occurs over 1,700 times in
the Bible), and a nice chunk of it has been promised to Abraham’s descendants.

Genesis 16:12 The Arab descendants of Ishmael are said to be “wild,” not reasonable. The idea of
having peace talks and peace treaties with such people is ridiculous.
Genesis 17:1 The notion that “nobody’s perfect” is a fallacy. Abraham was commanded to be perfect,
and there are some men in the Bible who are said to be perfect (I Kgs. 15:14; I Chr. 12:38; Job 1:1).
Jesus even commanded perfection in Matthew 5:48. The word doesn’t indicate sinlessness, but rather
whole-heartedness toward God.
Gen 17:8 Jews ruling the earth in Mil. and eternity Ps 24:7; Isa 9:6-7; Isa 66:22-23;
Genesis 18:19 Does the Lord “know” that about you, or is the matter questionable?
Genesis 20:3-5: This settles the age-old question about the “heathen who’ve never heard.” Like
Abimelech, the heathen have heard more than you might think. Even without a prophet or a written law
from God, this man knew that adultery was wrong because his conscience had told him (Rom. 2:15).
Gen 20:16 Def. of reproved: restating the truth. 'Brother' used sarcasticlly; note the ref. to a covering
1Cor 11:4-10
Genesis 22:1-2: The phrase “God did tempt Abraham” throws all the Bible critics into a panic.
Immediately, they run to James 1:13 and remind us that God doesn’t tempt any man, so the verse
“should” have said that God “tried” or “tested” Abraham. What they fail to point out is that the same
chapter also uses the word “tried” and “trying” interchangeably with “tempt” and “temptation” (James 1:3,
12). This is further confirmed in Hebrews 11:17: “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac . .
.” So, we didn’t need a new version, only a concordance. God most certainly did tempt Abraham in the
sense that He provided a situation where Satan had the opportunity to tempt the man to disobey God. If
you have a problem with that, you’ll really have a problem with I Chronicles 21:1 and II Samuel 24:1.
Gen 22:24
Concubine in the Bible denotes a female conjugally united to a man, but in a relation inferior to that of a
wife. Among the early Jews,from various causes,the difference between a wife and a concubine was less
marked than it would be amongst us. The concubine was a wife of secondary rank. There are various laws
recorded providing for their protection
Exod 21:7; Deut 21:10-14;
and setting limits to the relation they sustained to the household to which they belonged They had
no authority in the family, nor could they share in the household government.

The immediate cause ofconcubinage might be gathered from the conjugal histories ofAbraham
and Jacob.

Genesis 24:65: When the bride was about to meet the bridegroom, “she took a vail, and covered herself,”
picturing the fact that the church of the last days needs to be clothing herself in righteousness as she

Genesis 28:16: “. . . Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.” That’ll preach! There are Bible-
believing churches all across this world that enjoy God’s presence regularly, yet the proud citizens of their
local communities know it not. They’re too occupied with Laodicean religion to realize that God has
written “Ichabod” across their dead churches (I Sam. 4:21) while granting spiritual growth and blessings to
His faithful remnant.

doesn’t return. “Clinical” death is not death, so we can ignore the silly books written by people who claim

Genesis 37:9-10: Here we have a splendid example of how to study the Bible. Without correcting any
words, and without searching out any Hebrew words, we can search the words “sun,” “moon,” and “stars.”
The last reference we find is Revelation 12:1, which is quite a mystery to many people. But it is no
mystery to anyone who has read Genesis 37:9-10, which interprets the sun, moon, and stars as having
reference to the nation of Israel.
Genesis 40:8: The words “Do not interpretations belong to God?” make it clear that the Bible is to be
studied and understood, not interpreted. God’s word always interprets itself.

Genesis 49:11: After giving us the messianic promise of the Messiah, Moses informs us that one day
Christ will have “washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes.” The pecuilar words
point to the Second Coming. The companion verses are Isaiah 63:1-6, Psalm 68:23, and Revelation
19:13.
Genesis 49:33 Jacob was “gathered unto his people” long before his physical body was buried, clearly
indicating that the soul of a dying person departs (Gen. 35:18) for another dwelling place while the body
lies dead. Another way the Bible says this is to say that a person “slept with his fathers,” a common
expression found in Kings and Chronicles. The New Testament verse is II Corinthians 5:8: “We are
confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

Doctrinally, the fig leaves point to Israel’s self-righteousness (Mat. 24:32; Mark 11:12-14; Rom. 10:3). Genesis 3:9 God asking Adam “Where art thou?” is most interesting. The Lord obviously knew where Adam was, so the question is being asked for Adam’s instruction, not for the Lord’s information. Adam was now in sin, and he needed to face it, just as billions today need to face it. Genesis 3:15 This is is first messianic promise in the Bible, the first promise that God would send a Redeemer to overthrow the work and kingdom of Satan. It’s also a promise of the Virgin Birth since the verse says “her seed.” A woman has no seed, unless God gives her one, which He did with Mary (Mat. 1:18-20).

    Genesis 3:17 Sothe ground is under a curse, a curse that will remain in effect until Jesus returns. Consequently, the Old Testament ends with the word “curse.” To signify this, Christ was crucified with a crown of thorns. This curse will be lifted when Jesus returns (Isa. 11:6-9; Rom. 8:18-23; Rev. 22:3). Genesis 3:21 The coats of skins were provided by God as a replacement for the fig aprons that Adam and Eve had made for a covering. The fig aprons were unacceptable because (1) God didn’t provide them and (2) no blood was shed to get them. The animal skins undoubtedly came from a lamb (Rev. 13:8; Pro. 27:26).     Genesis 5:1 Thephase “book of the generations” is found only twice in the Bible. The first occurrence is here where the context is the generations of Adam. As these generations are listed, the word “died” is recorded eight times because “in Adam all die” (I Cor. 15:22). The other occurrence is the “book of the generation of Jesus Christ” in Matthew 1:1, a chapter in which no death is recorded (since Christ is life) and the word “begat” is found thirty-nine times. Genesis 5:2 God called “their name Adam,” which explains why the wife takes the husband’s name unto this day. Many modern women like to show their rebellion by keeping their maiden name in a hyphenated form (Hillary Rodham-Clinton, etc.), failing to realize that the maiden name was also a man’s name. Genesis 5:3 Adam begetting a son “in his own likeness, after his image” means that he begot a sinner in the image of sinful man, not in the image of God. Satan’s plan in all of this was to destroy the promised seed of Genesis 3:15, an effort that he continues in various ways throughout the Old Testament. Genesis 9:6 Capital punishment for murderers is ordained of God before the Old Tesament law, during the the law (Exo. 21:12; Num. 35), and after the law (Rom. 13:1-4; Acts 25:11). Genesis 9:15 So the polar ice caps are not going to succomb to global warming and melt over the entire planet. The next flood will be with fire, not water (II Pet. 3:10).     Genesis 9:25-27 Dealingwith the race issue, this is one of the most unpopular passages in the Bible. Clearly, one race is to expand, one is to be blessed, and one is to serve. The “all men are created equal” bit is nonsense. One man and his wife were created unequal, and everyone else was born into all sorts of families and conditions. Gen 10:11-12 Asshur is a son of Shem (Gen 10:22), showing that when the Hamites come in to town, the Shemites head for the suburbs. Asshur, coming from the one who was “blessed by the Lord God,” does not “buy” the scene put on in Gen 11 . He leaves and founds Nineveh, “Rehoboth, and Calah, and Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.” “The same is a great city” can refer to Nineveh or to Resen (if Resen was the modern Nimrod). The chances are Nineveh includes Calah and Resen. They are suburbs, and the great city is Nineveh. (Jonah 3:3 and Nahum 1, 2, 3) Genesis 10:19 Notice how the first mention of Sodom is in connection with the Canaanites from Ham, which should surprise no one who has read the previous chapter. Genesis 11:3-4 Plenty is said about “us,” but nothing is said about God, a common occurrence when men decide to get together for the “common good” of man. See the United Nations charter for a fine example. When men get together, the first thing they do is kick God out. Genesis 12:3 This is the original blessing on the Jewish people and on their friends. The blessing passes down from Abraham to Isaac (Gen. 25:11), then to Jacob (Gen. 27:29), then on to the twelve tribes and their descendants (Gen. 48:9, 16, 20; 49:25; Num. 6:23-27; Psa. 33:12, etc.). Genesis 12:10 This is the first famine in the Bible, and it was sent to test Abraham. Like most of us, when adversity came he entered a state of panic and made a foolish choice. Abraham had just been given the land of Canaan (Genesis 12:7), yet now he leaves the promised land for the securities of Egypt, a type of the world. Naturally, when he reaches Egypt he finds even more trouble. Genesis 14:4 The first mention of thirteen is in the context of rebellion. Gen 14:13 Confederate 99% of the time a bad rebellion Ps 83:5; Prov 11:21; Isa 7:2; Isa 8:9; Isa 54:15; Zech 14:1-3; Genesis 15:5 The old English “tell” means to count. Hence: a bank teller.

    Genesis 15:18 So,the little piece of real estate that Israel currently possesses is only the front lawn of what she’s going to get in the future. God is very interested in land (the word occurs over 1,700 times in the Bible), and a nice chunk of it has been promised to Abraham’s descendants. Gen 15:18-21 Caleb a Gentile Num 13:6; Josh 14:14; Genesis 16:12 The Arab descendants of Ishmael are said to be “wild,” not reasonable. The idea of having peace talks and peace treaties with such people is ridiculous. Genesis 17:1 The notion that “nobody’s perfect” is a fallacy. Abraham was commanded to be perfect, and there are some men in the Bible who are said to be perfect (I Kgs. 15:14; I Chr. 12:38; Job 1:1). Jesus even commanded perfection in Matthew 5:48. The word doesn’t indicate sinlessness, but rather whole-heartedness toward God. Gen 17:8 Jews ruling the earth in Mil. and eternity Ps 24:7; Isa 9:6-7; Isa 66:22-23; Genesis 18:19 Does the Lord “know” that about you, or is the matter questionable? Genesis 20:3-5: This settles the age-old question about the “heathen who’ve never heard.” Like Abimelech, the heathen have heard more than you might think. Even without a prophet or a written law from God, this man knew that adultery was wrong because his conscience had told him (Rom. 2:15). Gen 20:16 Def. of reproved: restating the truth. 'Brother' used sarcasticlly; note the ref. to a covering 1Cor 11:4-10 Genesis 22:1-2: The phrase “God did tempt Abraham” throws all the Bible critics into a panic. Immediately, they run to James 1:13 and remind us that God doesn’t tempt any man, so the verse “should” have said that God “tried” or “tested” Abraham. What they fail to point out is that the same chapter also uses the word “tried” and “trying” interchangeably with “tempt” and “temptation” (James 1:3, 12). This is further confirmed in Hebrews 11:17: “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac . . .” So, we didn’t need a new version, only a concordance. God most certainly did tempt Abraham in the sense that He provided a situation where Satan had the opportunity to tempt the man to disobey God. If you have a problem with that, you’ll really have a problem with I Chronicles 21:1 and II Samuel 24:1. Gen 22:24 Concubine in the Bible denotes a female conjugally united to a man, but in a relation inferior to that of a wife. Among the early Jews,from various causes,the difference between a wife and a concubine was less marked than it would be amongst us. The concubine was a wife of secondary rank. They’re too occupied with Laodicean religion to realize that God has written “Ichabod” across their dead churches (I Sam. 4:21) while granting spiritual growth and blessings to His faithful remnant. The companion verses are Isaiah 63:1-6, Psalm 68:23, and Revelation 19:13. Genesis 49:33 Jacob was “gathered unto his people” long before his physical body was buried, clearly indicating that the soul of a dying person departs (Gen. 35:18) for another dwelling place while the body lies dead. Another way the Bible says this is to say that a person “slept with his fathers,” a common expression found in Kings and Chronicles. The New Testament verse is II Corinthians 5:8: “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
