This document outlines Team MAKH's project called The Bridge, which is an online tool to add sign language to videos. It aims to help deaf students like Jia learn from online videos by embedding sign language interpretations. The team introduces themselves and provides an outline of the problem, proposed solution, technologies used, and demo. Their goals are to automate the current manual process used by Deaf Reach School to reduce effort and provide universal access to online resources for deaf people. The solution will use Node.js for the backend, Python for sign language conversion, and a Pakistani sign language dictionary.

Statement
There exists a gap between
how normal and deaf people
learn through different
resources
The Deaf people are unable to connect
to the real world for many resources
because they cannot understand them
simply.
We have select video resource and our
goal is to make all the videos reachable
to them.

They are depended on the
interpreter.
Our client, Deaf Reach School is using a
manual techniques in which they use an
interpreter to translate. They record
her signs and merge them to the
original video through video editing
tools.
The major issue is that this require a lot
of time to record a session with
interpreter.

7. Jia’s dilemma.

videos available but she cannot

9. Solution description
➔ BRIDGE is an online web tool to append sign language to any Video on the Internet. The
video should be in English.
➔ Jia only needs to upload the video and then see the result.
➔ She will learn calculus through the same videos because these videos now have sign
language embedded in them as an inset.

10. Why it’s better than existing
solutions
➔ The existing solution is manual which require a lot of time and effort of the user.
➔ It is much better than the existing method because it decrease your effort and saves
your time.
➔ If your client is happy then good to go.

➔ To reduce the effort of our client by automating their task.
