Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

WebEx Integration (CMR Cloud/Hybrid)
Collaboration Cloud Platform Integration
Regardless of “type” of meeting you need to have, Cisco’s has a new approach to conferencing and we are reimaging it in an entirely new way.
Every meeting should have audio, web and video conferencing capabilities. Users shouldn’t have to think about what type of conferencing they need before scheduling: after all it’s just a meeting. So at Cisco, we brought together our industry leading conferencing solutions, WebEx and Telepresence to offer to the best conferencing experience available.
Users who want the best in-person, face to face experience, they can use TelePresence as their primary conferencing solution. Users who want the agility of any device, any time conferencing, can use WebEx as their primary conferencing solution. Of course, most customers want both, and for those customers, we offer Collaboration Meeting Rooms.
Cisco CMR enables you to Meet Your Way. Rather than having to choose the lowest common denominator such as a voice-only or web conference experience, Cisco CMR provides options to enable any type of conferencing, either in a fully hosted cloud model or using CMR premises if regulatory issues require on-site infrastructure. You can also choose a hybrid option.
The Cisco Conferencing portfolio:
Delivers all modalities – voice/video/web
Provides a consistent user experience no matter what tool you’re using. This of course makes it easier to use the right tool for the right task while minimizing training and driving adoption.
Is interoperable. If I’m using WebEx other people may be dialing in from a conference room and everyone should be able to get together regardless of the tool.
Is Mobile enabled. We live in a continually mobile world, and traditionally those folks who have dialed in from a phone or tablet may have a second class citizen kind of experience to those in a room for instance. That is no longer the case. Beyond being mobile enabled, we strive to provide a full rich experience on those devices as well.
From an IT standpoint, we can deploy these things across a common architecture to make it easier to manage.
And of course, being from one vendor, this all gives you one throat to choke, one source of truth, and one point of contact if anything goes wrong.
Let’s walk through some highlights of changes in the portfolio in more detail…
We make a consistent and easy to join from any device, including 3rd party endpoints. Whether you’re on the move, at your desk, or in a conference room we can deliver the experience that fits your needs. And of course all conference rooms are not the same. We provide physical endpoints for large conference rooms, board rooms, smaller team rooms or even your desk. You can even join meetings from third party endpoints or use soft clients like Cisco Jabber.
In consider the experience to not just extend to consistency of look and feel alone, but also the quality of the experience. High-quality video and audio are essential to creating an in-person feel. And the video delivery must be properly synced with the audio, so the voice tone and level sounds natural and the visual impression creates a face-to-face feel, without latency between video and audio. Our solutions allow users to collaborate with ease and enjoy a rich experience that mirrors the way we actually work when we are in the same room. Share content. Record the meeting. And you have access to these capabilities from your mobile devices, from remote locations, and from multiple platforms.
CMR meetings can be created in any of the following scenarios:
Scheduled: For meetings at a specified time for a defined audience– reserve the conference rooms and resources needed for the meeting. With scheduling a unique location for the meeting to used to ensure privacy and with on-prem solution OBTP is provided for conference room video endpoints.
Instant: Create a meeting when you need it using TP endpoint or Productivity tool. (new name for ad-hoc escalation point to point to multipoint via video endpoint or escalate from chat to video via Jabber, or start a meeting on WebEx via PT tool)
Personal: (A recent change from personal) A personalized, always-available virtual meeting place, enabling users to invite others to meet quickly and easily. Resources are not guaranteed and no OBTP
Only one license needed for each host - (any number of attendees can connect up to the limit of the hardware)
For any user, who is then entitled to have any type of meeting , whenever they want.
