For the last two decades, the most influential trait approach to personality contends that there are five core personality traits known as the "BIG FIVE" which include extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience. Each of these five traits is comprised of sets of three descriptors that define variations within that trait domain.
