What is the Texas STaR Chart? It is a tool that is for campuses to use to determine goals and progress of reaching those goals of the Texas Long Range Technology Plan.

What Does this Information Tell Us About Our Campus?? Summary of Key Areas from the past 3 years: 2008-09: Advanced 2007-08: Advanced 2006-07: Advanced Infrastructure for Technology 2008-09: Advanced 2007-08: Developing 2006-07: Advanced Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support 2008-09: Developing 2007-08: Developing 2006-07: Advanced Educator Preparation and Development 2008-09: Developing 2007-08: Developing 2006-07: Developing Teaching and Learning
Where We Need To Be… Teaching and learning: -teacher serves as facilitator -on demand access to all  appropriate technologies to  complete activities that have  been integrated into all content   core areas
Where We Need To Be… Educator Preparation: -technology learner-centered projects -100% of educators meet the   SBEC standards -30% or more of budget is  allocated to professional   development
Where We Need To Be: Administration and Support: -campus plan focused on student success, supported by board and administration -1 technical support for every 350 computers -Technology Allotment, e-Rate, state and federal grants and local funding are available.
Where We Need To Be… Infrastructure: -on demand access for every student -all rooms are connected  to WAN -all rooms are fully equipped with appropriate technology
STaR Summary -We are able as a campus, to look at the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology and see where we are compared to other campuses in different districts and where our strengths and weaknesses are. -It helps us to plan future goals to improve the integration of technology and to reach the technology goals of the state.
