What is the Purpose for the STaR chart? The Texas Teacher STaR Chart is rubric to grade the integration of technology on campuses. It was developed around the four areas of the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology. Teaching & Learning   Educator Preparation & Development   Leadership, Administration, & Instructional Support   Infrastructure for Technology
Description of the Key Components Teaching & Learning  – Teacher serves as a faciliator and provides frequent opportunities for students to integrate technology into all content areas. Educator Preparation and Development  – Vertical alignment of technology application TEKS and online resources. Administrator ensure the integration of appropriate technology .
Description of the Key Components Administration & Support –  In the Target Tech level of progress, the campus plan focused on student success is support by both administration and board. Technology allotment is provided by state and federal competitive grants. Local funding is also available. Infrastructure –  The school’s infrastructure promotes student’s technology learning by providing WAN access in all classrooms. Students are given on-demand access and all classrooms are fully equipped with the appropriately technology.
