The research is clear: happy workers are more productive workers. And it's best when managers enjoy their jobs as well. Managing for Happiness is about concrete management advice for all workers. Practical things that people can do next Monday morning in order to change the organization's culture, and make it a happier place to work. This is not only relevant for managers, but for everyone who is concerned about the organization. We create a happier environment by managing ourselves, and lead by example, in an environment focused on experiments and learning. How can we inspire workers with a goal? (Answer: start your own work exposition) How can we have a better team culture? (Answer: share your personal maps) How can we address core values? (Answer: start sharing your value stories) All creative workers are expected to be "servant leaders" and "systems thinkers". In this session, you will learn how you can do that concretely, with a number of inspiring stories and examples. As Gandhi said, "Be the change you wish to see." A happier organization starts with people managing themselves.
The book Managing for Happiness will be released worldwide by John Wiley & Sons in June 2016 in full colors.
Have you ever tried to start a new project and had it attacked and rejected for the smallest reasons? I had when I started global sales training. I learned how to overcome that problem and produced a slide presentation to show the steps I used.

In an on premises IT environment after a major upgrade or migration there's often a lull in activities, a chance to rest or catch up on things you've put off for a rainy day. In the cloud the only constant is change, a relentless barrage of new features, functionality, and services. While it may be the end of a major phase or project on premises, finishing a migration or a deployment in a cloud service like Office 365 is actually just the beginning. Constant change also means that the goalposts are always moving backwards, you're regularly challenged by new releases, new requirements, and new requests from your end users. Although these challenges are daunting, that doesn't mean you can stick your head in the sand and ignore them.
In this session IT decision makers, leaders, and architects will learn how they can build and maintain a consistent depiction of the progress their organization has made in their digital transformation journey to Office 365 as well as use it to map out their strategy for the road ahead. It will enable attendees to assess their current state of deployment and utilization across all of Office 365's workloads, map that current state to a maturity model designed to simplify the visualization and communication of that state, and then identify critical areas for improvement or enhancement. Additionally, we'll discuss how IT organizations can use this self-assessment to continually update a baseline of their O365 footprint and account for the every-changing nature of O365's services and solutions. Finally, attendees will learn about how they can automate their assessment for additional efficiency and accuracy using O365's out of the box tools and APIs.
