can consider change is the second inevitable thing.
• No one like change except wet baby.
• Now change is happening faster than anytime in
human history.
1-Nature of change.
2-Stages of dealing with new change.
3-Stages of management change.
4- Some principles of managing change.
Change is not new in business but it happen faster than first due
to:
 New technology.
 Global competition.
 Growth & increased complexity
 Change in laws, policies of government.
1) Refuse
2) Resistance
3) Exploration
4) Acceptance
 company canceling bonus and discount of drug to follow
laws of FDA of the country in spite of other competitor's still
give all benefits.
1-Refuse:
• When first signal of change is coming all employees refuse as
asking why only one we change its not necessary we will lose
many.
2-Resistance
Why all resist change?? Its the fear…
• Lack of information: any change decision always taken by
senior management and employee has no information about
how this will effect on their jobs and how to deal!!!
• Not to participate opinion : employees rarely accept change
without participating or planning for it.
• Job insecurity: any change may lead to decrease or increase
number of employee or increase their responsibilities.
• Employees in past have a good success, achievement and fear
as this will not happen again by new change .
• During periods of change employees feel depression and loss
of motive as before you compete to be number one and they
hope if past came back.
• Doing things in the same routine is comfortable and fear
from change as it need to change their routines and gain
more experience to deal with new situation.
• Fear from acceptance of market to change which happened
as they will stop working with us so we will lose our business
which will reflect on our job security.
• If things have been going well, some employees may resist
change because they fear that the change will not result in
improvement.
• However, they worry that the proposed change might
actually make things worse! Their fear causes them to place
roadblocks in the movement toward change
• Third stage after resistance as change is now is necessary
and no way employees start thinking in advantage and
disadvantages of change and expected net result from it.
4)Acceptance
• When first signal of change success appear employees start to
realize it and become more flexible with it and more
accepted for it.
when any new change happen you will face 3 questions:-
1)Why should I change? (thinking, understanding)
2)What's in it for me? (emotional, motivational)
3)What do I do differentially ? ( behavior)
To answer the last 3 questions and overcome resistance which is the most
difficult stage you will face in new change You must start change
in next 9 steps:
1)Give notice: if You know previous about new coming change give yours
employees idea about it to make them ready for it.
2)Give reasons: clarify reasons which push to change as this decrease lack of
information for employees to be clear that change is out of order.
3)Give opinion: be support to idea of change as your employees wait to
know this which may increase their acceptance to it.
4) listen to employees: employees need to your answer for their questions in
open discussion without restriction to decrease feeling of depression which
may feel with it.
5) Share employees: give employees chance to share in making of change by
their ideas which make them more supportive to change and decrease
resistance.
6) communicate and communicate: stop any rumors about change by
continuous support and feedback about any news and if you sure this
change not effect on their job security tell them to decrease their resistance
and stress.
7)Identifies employees: divide them according to their response to change
and who more resistant give him more attention or transfer to another
department.
8)Ready for solve problems: any change have risk so expected wrongs ,you
must be cool and ready to correct and solve it, after you solve one you will
face others problems this nature of any change so solve any problem when
happen don’t wait or delay.
9)Give motivation: any big change is like big battle
And employees will feel with depression during it, so when any small
change success happened like increase sales you must highlights it and
celebrate as this increase spirit ,enthusiasm ,positive behavior of yours
employee, not forget thousand of 1000 miles occurs one step at a time.
1)The belief that you can change is the key to change.
2)Change only happens when each person makes a decision to implement
the change.
3)Truth is more important during periods of change than good news.
4)People who successfully navigate change know that change always brings
something positive into their lives.
5)People who successfully navigate change know that every challenging
emotion they feel is not going to stop them and will guide them to positive
emotions that help them feel better.
6)People who successfully navigate change know that the quicker they
accept change, the less pain and hardship they will feel.
7)Change alter mind ,emotions ,behavior's .
8)The most valuable quality you can ever develop to deal with change is
flexibility.
9) Sometimes we force change and sometimes it’s forced upon us.
10) Don’t change your company when change is happen in it.
