STANDARDS FOR
TEACHERS
ISTE NETS-T- DEFINE THE NEW SKILLS AND
INSIGHTS EDUCATORS NEED TO TEACH, WORK
AND LEARN IN THE DIGITAL AGE. (“FOR
TEACHERS)
1. FACILITATE AND INSPIRE STUDENT
LEARNING AND CREATIVITY
• Teachers facilitate experiences that advance student learning
• They encourage support and model creative and innovative thinking
• Captivate students with exploring real-world issues and solving real dilemmas using
digital tools and resources
• Show collaborative instruction by engaging in learning with students, and co-
workers
• (“FOR TEACHERS”)
2. DESIGN AND DEVELOP DIGITAL AGE
LEARNING EXPERIENCES AND ASSESSMENTS
• Make or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to
promote student learning and creativity (“FOR TEACHERS”)
• DEVELOP TECHNOLOGY ENRICHED LEARNING ENVIORMENTS THAT ENABLE ALL
STUDENTS TO PURSUE THEIR INDIVIDUAL CURIOSITIES AND BECOME ACTIVE
DEVELOPS A CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT THAT ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO MAKE
GOALS AND MANAGE THEIR OWN LEARNING AND ASSESS THEIR PROGRESS
• Design learning activities that address students’ different learning styles and working strategies
and strengths using digital tools and resources
• Give several formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards
and reflect on techniques and revamp if necessary
• (“FOR TEACHERS”)
3. MODEL DIGITAL AGE WORK AND
LEARNING
• Demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to
new technologies and situations (“FOR TEACHERS”)
• Work with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and
resources to support student success and innovation (“FOR TEACHERS”)
• Give relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents and peers using
multiple digital medias and formats
• Demonstrate correct use of current and new digital tools to find, analyze, evaluate,
and use information resources to support learning
• (“FOR TEACHERS”)
4. PROMOTE AND MODEL DIGITAL
CITIZENSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY
• Support, show and teach safe, legal and ethical use of digital information and
technology; respect copyright, intellectual property, and appropriate citations
• Meet the different needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies
• Model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use of
technology and information
• Create and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with
those from other cultures using digital age communication and collaboration tools
• (“FOR TEACHERS”)
5. ENGAGE IN PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
AND LEADERSHIP
Participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of
technology to improve student learning (“FOR TEACHERS”)
Demonstrate a vision of technology infusion, participate in shared decision making
and community building and help others develop leadership and technology skills
Reflect on current research and professional practice on a consistent bases to make
effective use of current and new digital tools
Contribute to the effectiveness, vitality and self-renewal of the teaching profession
and of their school and community

STUDENTS
ISTE-Are designed to empower student voice and
ensure that learning is a student-driven process of
exploration, creativity and discovery no matter where
they or their teachers are in the thoughtful
integration of ed tech. (“ISTE/STANDARDS FOR
STUDENTS”)
1. EMPOWERED LEARNER
• Students utilize technology to take an active role in choosing, attaining and
exhibiting competency in their learning goals, informed by the learning sciences
• (“ISTE/STANDARDS FOR STUDENTS”)
2. DIGITAL CITIZEN
• Students recognize the rights , duties and opportunities of living, learning, and
working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are
safe, legal and ethical (“ISTE/STANDARDS FOR STUDENTS”)
3. KNOWLEDGE CONSTRUCTOR
• Students critically curate variety of resources using digital tools to formulate
knowledge, yield creative artifacts and make relevant learning experiences for
themselves and others (“ISTE/STANDARDS FOR STUDENTS”)
4. INNOVATIVE DESIGNER
• STUDENTS USE A mixture OF TECHNOLOGY WITHIN A DESIGN PROCESS TO
PINPOINT AND SOLVE PROBLEMS BY CREATING NEW, USEFUL OR
IMAGINATIVE SOLUTIONS (“ISTE/STANDARDS FOR STUDENTS”)
5. COMPUTIONAL THINKER
• STUDENTS DEVISE AND EMPLOY STRATEGIES FOR UNDERSTANDING AND
EXPLAINING PROBLEMS IN WAYS THAT LEVERAGE THE POWER OF
TECHNOLOGICAL METHODS TO DEVELOP AND TEST SOLUTIONS
(“ISTE/STANDARDS FOR STUDENTS”)
6. CREATIVE COMMUNICATOR
• STUDENTS COMMUNICATE CLEARLY AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES
CREATIVELY FOR A RANGE OF REASONS USING THE PLATFORMS, TOOLS,
STYLES, FORMATS AND DIGITAL MEDIA APPROPRIATE TO THEIR GOALS

7. GLOBAL COLLABORATOR
• Students utilize digital tools to broaden their perspectives and enhance their
learning by cooperating with others and working effectively in teams locally globally

  • 2. TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS ISTE NETS-T- DEFINE THE NEW SKILLS AND INSIGHTS EDUCATORS NEED TO TEACH, WORK AND LEARN IN THE DIGITAL AGE. (“FOR TEACHERS)
  • 3. 1. FACILITATE AND INSPIRE STUDENT LEARNING AND CREATIVITY • Teachers facilitate experiences that advance student learning • They encourage support and model creative and innovative thinking • Captivate students with exploring real-world issues and solving real dilemmas using digital tools and resources • Show collaborative instruction by engaging in learning with students, and co- workers • (“FOR TEACHERS”)

DESIGN AND DEVELOP DIGITAL AGE LEARNING EXPERIENCES AND ASSESSMENTS • Make or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity (“FOR TEACHERS”) • DEVELOP TECHNOLOGY ENRICHED LEARNING ENVIORMENTS THAT ENABLE ALL STUDENTS TO PURSUE THEIR INDIVIDUAL CURIOSITIES AND BECOME ACTIVE DEVELOPS A CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT THAT ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO MAKE GOALS AND MANAGE THEIR OWN LEARNING AND ASSESS THEIR PROGRESS • Design learning activities that address students’ different learning styles and working strategies and strengths using digital tools and resources • Give several formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and reflect on techniques and revamp if necessary • (“FOR TEACHERS”)
