When God created humankind and nature, he intended them to be connected to each
other. God s Grandeur , a poem written in 1877 by Gerard Manley Hopkins depicts
the interconnection between the natural world and humankind. The poem describes
the beauty of God s creation and how humankind tends to dismiss the fact that the
world is a beautiful place. Hopkins formats the poem as a fourteen line sonnet
where a problem is introduced in the first eight lines and a solution to the problem in

reference to the Great Recession of 2008. In this paper, I will be discussing and
analyzing an analogy Tim Harford uses to discuss the probability of buying a
carton of eggs with an egg having a double yolk to what mortgage backed
securities and credit default swaps meant and represented. In chapter 6 of the
updated book, The Undercover Economist, a lady named Fiona Exon is
mentioned. In early 2010 she bought half a dozen eggs and discovered all 6 of
them had double yolks. According to the British Egg Information Service the
chance of any given egg having two yolks is one in a thousand and for each one of
the 6 eggs you keep multiplying this probability and get a probability of one in a

I think it is of high importance to understand a little more about the personal lives
of our country s Founding Fathers. Understanding the peculiarities of their lives
gives us a greater understanding of why they developed our Constitution the way

Composting
College students should be given information on composting in order for them to
know the positive effects. When students get to college, they are no longer under
parental super vision. They do not have an authority figure telling them how to sort
their trash. Students are able to think for themselves and make their own decisions.
College is the perfect situation for students to change the way they thing about
throwing away their trash. Students may not have thought about compostingas an
option because they were never given the resources to partake in composting. If
student know how to compost and are given the resources, then there are
opportunities students will jump up to take. As a college student myself, I am able
to make my own decisions and have chosen to know more about the different ways
to throw my trash out. On a quiz published in Sustainability, a casebook for writers,
there are questions based on how well you know about nature. I was only able to

Trafficking. By definition; human trafficking is the illegal movement of people,
typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. The

Ever since its inception in 1818, Mary Shelley s Frankenstein has fueled the
imaginations of thousands of readers through its portrayal of conflicted scientist
Victor Frankenstein, and his neglected creation referred to as the Creature in its first
appearances, and later called the Monster. Though rich in storytelling, perhaps
Frankenstein s most enduring quality is its wide array of themes which touch upon
topics ranging from appearances to free will. It is, however, the themes of life,
consciousness, and existence which prevails as the story progresses. In
Frankenstein , Mary Shelley begs the reader to question the nature of Victor s
responsibility to the Creature, and his role as God or a godlike figure to his
Creation; as well as the state of our moral core during infancy until our introduction to
society.
The nature of Frankenstein s responsibility of the Creature spawns more questions

actually looking forward to today. After breakfast you get on your way and notice
how truly warm it is, then you notice something else; your eyes are burning and you

steadily grew along with the increase in people and cars. Los Angeles became a
prime location for lingering pollution due to its geographic position. Because it sat in
a valley between the mountains and ocean and because of its always relatively low
winds, the particles and emissions could not be blown and dissipated into the
atmosphere, creating a blanket of smog that slowly engulfed the city. Although air
pollution control programs had been implemented before, they had been unsuccessful.

To study the issue at hand the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors created a
Smoke and Fumes Commission. In the winter of 1943, the city followed some of the
commission s suggestions by banning dense smoke emissions and establishing an
office for the Director of Air Pollution Control. After studying the true magnitude of
the issue, the Los Angeles Times hired an air pollution expert, Raymond R. Tucker, to
help come up with more solutions. After a long investigation, Tucker made 23
recommendations including citing smoking trucks and banning garbage incinerators
in dumps and backyards. He also disproved the notion that the pollution was only the
factories fault. Caution should be exercised in placing the entire blame on any one
industry, plant or group of individuals, he wrote. Each contributes its share.
