This document provides an introduction to an independent study course on teaching pronunciation to adult English language learners. The objectives of the course are to identify elements of good oral production, techniques for teaching pronunciation, evaluate pronunciation in textbooks, incorporate pronunciation exercises into lesson plans, and complete application activities. Upon completion, participants will receive 15 professional development points. The course is intended for teachers of adult ESL students and is estimated to take 11-15 hours to complete. It covers theory, best practices, and application activities to improve participants' ability to teach pronunciation in the classroom.
