It is very important that teachers take the time to meet, discuss, and
plan with one another.
- Share successful lessons / technology with one another
- Provide feedback to colleagues lessons.
- Create professional learning communities
Planning with Students
It is also important to collaborate with students to discover new technology,
and troubleshoot current technology.
-Take advantage of your students technology expertise to troubleshoot
problems!
- Embrace the ” bring your own device policy.
-Listen to your student’s interests on exploring new technologies.
Troubleshooting Devices
1. Isolate the problem.
2. Identify one or more possible solutions.
3. Apply a solution and check results.
4. Repeat process if necessary

Using tools such as Skype, Zoom, Face-Time, and others to communicate with others
beyond the class-room.

How to look your best on a Webcam
1. Place the webcam at eye level.
2. Change the background of your monitor to a neutral color and turn it
down to a low light level.
3. Reduce shadows - place a white sheet of paper on your desk or
keyboard to reflect the light from overhead.
4. Pay attention to your background.
5. Solid-colored clothing is usually most flattering on camera.
Culturally Responsive Teacher
A culturally responsive teacher understands and capitalizes on the unique cultural
attributes and experiences of students to promote student achievement.
According to Hernandez Woodley, “Culturally responsive teaching is about
designing dynamic environments and utilizing classroom practices that allow students
to succeed academically”.
Culturally responsive teachers exhibit six key behaviors.
1. Are socially conscious, meaning that one’s understanding is influenced by one’s
culture.
2. View students’ diverse backgrounds as assets rather than liabilities.
3. Feel personally responsible for helping schools be more responsive to all
students.
4. Understand how learners construct knowledge;
5. Know about the lives of their students.
6. Design instruction that builds upon students’ prior knowledge and experiences
and stretches them beyond the familiar.
Some communication patterns that can be manifested differently across
cultures include...
1. Conventions for storytelling.
2. Directness in communicating.
3. When to listen and when to speak.
4. When and how children should speak.
5. Speaking to an adult or elder.

  • 8. How to look your best on a Webcam 1. Place the webcam at eye level. 2. Change the background of your monitor to a neutral color and turn it down to a low light level. 3. Reduce shadows - place a white sheet of paper on your desk or keyboard to reflect the light from overhead. 4. Pay attention to your background. 5. Solid-colored clothing is usually most flattering on camera.
  • 9. Culturally Responsive Teacher A culturally responsive teacher understands and capitalizes on the unique cultural attributes and experiences of students to promote student achievement. According to Hernandez Woodley, “Culturally responsive teaching is about designing dynamic environments and utilizing classroom practices that allow students to succeed academically”.
  • 10. Culturally responsive teachers exhibit six key behaviors. 1. Are socially conscious, meaning that one’s understanding is influenced by one’s culture. 2. View students’ diverse backgrounds as assets rather than liabilities. 3. Feel personally responsible for helping schools be more responsive to all students. 4. Understand how learners construct knowledge; 5. Know about the lives of their students. 6. Design instruction that builds upon students’ prior knowledge and experiences and stretches them beyond the familiar.
