ordinal or scaled (central tendency)

1. Ordinal data is rank ordered data: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, . .
place or percentiles: 7th %, 23rd %, 99th % where
there are no equal intervals between units.
Scaled data is data with equal interval or
exchangeable units (1 to 2 is the same interval as
5 to 6) such as speed (mph), height (inches or
cm), or weight (grams or pounds)
Important Note: When the data is ORDINAL you
will always use MEDIAN for central tendency and
the INTER-QUARTILE RANGE for spread.
Important Note: When the data is SCALED you
will always use MEAN for central tendency and
the STANDARD DEVIATION for spread.
