1. Ordinal data is rank ordered data: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, . . . place or
percentiles: 7th %, 23rd %, 99th % where there are no equal intervals
between units.
Scaled data is data with equal interval or exchangeable units such
as speed (mph), height (inches or cm), or weight (grams or pounds)
Nominal Proportional data is data that is analyzed as a proportion
or a percentage (9 out of 10 doctors surveyed or 90% of doctors
surveyed).

Very Important Note: with questions of difference, where you are comparing groups,
the data you should classify as scaled, ordinal, or nominal proportional is the data that
represents RESULTS (weight gain, driving speed, IQ, etc.) NOT CATEGORICAL variables
like gender, treatment/control group, type of athlete, school type, ethnicity, etc.)
