STRATEGIC BUSINESS UNIT:
REFRACTORY:
1. Basic Brick
TRL Krosaki Refractories manufactures a wide rangeof basic bricks for the Steel, Copper, Glass and Lime
industry.
 For Steel plants, we supply and apply basic bricks in EAF, Ladle, Convertor etc
 For the Copper industry, our supplies are mainly PS Convertor, Anode Furnace, Isa Furnace and Reverbatory
Furnace.
 For Limekilns, we supply alumina and zirconia spinel bonded basic bricks in the burning zone of the kilns.
Major raw materials used are Magnesia, Graphite and Resin
Post-sintering treatment gives the material high room temperature strength and reduces permeability.
Further, the absence of free magnesia makes it resistant to sulphate attack.
The microstructure is stabilized by a post firing treatment and remains unaffected during application at
1,200°C - 1,300°C. This also prevents secondary spinel formation during use.
Special Features of TRL Krosaki's DBMC / RBMC Bricks
 Access to the world's best refractory grade rawmaterials
 Low SiO2 level ensuring direct bonding through solid statesintering at high temperature
 High temperature fired (> 1,800°C) direct bonded bricks with low porosity and permeability ensured through
automated mixer machine, hydraulic press and high temperature tunnel kiln
 Extensive direct bonding and special post firing treatment make DBMC/RBMC bricks exceptional resistant to
molten metal/slag attack

Marketing environment of TRL Krosaki:
Investor: As per the World Bank report, global growth is moderating in most advanced economies as
industrial activity and tradeare negatively decelerating. This is because of the trade tensions among major
economies combined with concerns about softening global growth prospects. This is also impacting investor
sentiment and contributed to decline in global equity prices.
Countries: Among advanced economies, the only exception to negative growth is United States where
growth has remained solid and fiscal stimulus is boosting activity. In European countries, the activity has
been weaker than previously expected. Over all, in advanced economies, the growth has decelerated from
2.3% in 2017 to 2.2% in 2018 and expected to continue slower in next three years.
Banks: The recovery in Emerging Market and Developing Economies (EMDE) has stalled, owing to softening
external demand, tighter external financing conditions and heightened policy uncertainties Many EMDE
central banks have raised interest rates to fend off currency pressures. EMDE growth edged down to an
estimated 4.2% in 2018 which is 0.3%lower than previous projection. EMDE countries’ elevated current
account deficits experienced substantial financial market pressures and appreciable slowdowns in activity.
Overall, global growth is projected to moderate from a revised 3% in 2018 to 2.9% in 2019.
Continents: However, South Asia remains the world’s fastest growing region. India’s domestic demand is
strengthening as the country recaps the benefits of structural reforms and of a revival of credit growth. The
growth in South Asia acceleratedto 6.9% in 2018 from 6.2% in the previous Year. The recovery was in line
with expectations. Throughout the region, domestic consumption has picked up in 2018 while investment
remained solid supported by fading of a number of temporary disruptions, a revival of credit growth and
ongoing infrastructure projects.
Economic Outlook of TRL KROSAKI:
1. World Bank has projected global growth to moderate further from 3% in 2018 to 2.9% in 2019. Escalating
trade tensions involving major economies is the major risk to the negative global outlook.
2. In United States, it is expected that fiscal policy will boost the activity in 2019 but may become a drag
thereafter. Softening global trade and tighter financing conditions will result in a more challenging external
environment for EMDE economic activity. EMDE growth is expected to stay at 4.2% in 2019.
3. However, the outlook for South Asia is robust and World Bank remains bullish on India’s growth potential
and has improved GDP forecast from 7.3% in 2018 to 7.5% in 2019. Private consumption to remain robust
and investment growth is expected to continue.
4. The rising oil prices and food prices is a concern as it would create pressure on inflation and it is expected
that the inflation would be above 3% against the Reserve Bank of India’s target range of 2 to 6%.

This is because of the trade tensions among major economies combined with concerns about softening global growth prospects. This is also impacting investor sentiment and contributed to decline in global equity prices. Countries: Among advanced economies, the only exception to negative growth is United States where growth has remained solid and fiscal stimulus is boosting activity. In European countries, the activity has been weaker than previously expected. Over all, in advanced economies, the growth has decelerated from 2.3% in 2017 to 2.2% in 2018 and expected to continue slower in next three years. Banks: The recovery in Emerging Market and Developing Economies (EMDE) has stalled, owing to softening external demand, tighter external financing conditions and heightened policy uncertainties Many EMDE central banks have raised interest rates to fend off currency pressures. EMDE growth edged down to an estimated 4.2% in 2018 which is 0.3%lower than previous projection. EMDE countries’ elevated current
  • 19. account deficits experienced substantial financial market pressures and appreciable slowdowns in activity. Overall, global growth is projected to moderate from a revised 3% in 2018 to 2.9% in 2019. Continents: However, South Asia remains the world’s fastest growing region. India’s domestic demand is strengthening as the country recaps the benefits of structural reforms and of a revival of credit growth. The growth in South Asia acceleratedto 6.9% in 2018 from 6.2% in the previous Year. The recovery was in line with expectations. Throughout the region, domestic consumption has picked up in 2018 while investment remained solid supported by fading of a number of temporary disruptions, a revival of credit growth and ongoing infrastructure projects. Economic Outlook of TRL KROSAKI: 1. World Bank has projected global growth to moderate further from 3% in 2018 to 2.9% in 2019. Escalating trade tensions involving major economies is the major risk to the negative global outlook. 2. In United States, it is expected that fiscal policy will boost the activity in 2019 but may become a drag thereafter. Softening global trade and tighter financing conditions will result in a more challenging external environment for EMDE economic activity. EMDE growth is expected to stay at 4.2% in 2019. 3. However, the outlook for South Asia is robust and World Bank remains bullish on India’s growth potential and has improved GDP forecast from 7.3% in 2018 to 7.5% in 2019. Private consumption to remain robust and investment growth is expected to continue. 4. The rising oil prices and food prices is a concern as it would create pressure on inflation and it is expected that the inflation would be above 3% against the Reserve Bank of India’s target range of 2 to 6%. 2018- 19 2017- 18 2016- 17 2015- 16 2014- 15 Total Turn over 1594.29 1194.9 1090.66 1064.66 1074.78 0 500 1000 1500 2000 TotalRevenueinCrores Total Turn over
