Final Images chosen for Front Cover
Magazine
Final Chosen
Image
The reason why I
selected this image is
because it is focused
well. Also my setting was
on auto meaning the
flash will get every detail.
Such as facial
expressions, the detail of
the clothing. Which I
wanted mainly as I want
my front cover to be a
Teen Vogue magazine.
As the teen is wearing
black which is the theme
for my fashion
magazine. Also I liked
the fact that the
background is blurred
out and the focus is on
the model. This draws
the audience to the
model and to what she is
wearing.

• My interior images came out correctly as I used all techniques such as exposure, lighting, and many different angles. I
experienced with many different camera shots to see what shot I would want as my final shot. I decided to stick with my final
shot which is a medium shot of a teenage girl in all black which was theme. My magazine is for Vogue as I wanted a fashion
magazine targeted for teenage girls who are interested in fashion. The interior images came out as I wanted as I have my own
canon camera and I used the automatic setting to make the image come across as more enhanced and bright. As inside the
college we selected a set of stairs in a hall way which had minimum light so it was best to use the auto setting. This made the
image also focus on the teenagers face but also the clothing as the main focus is on fashion. The shutter speed was at a normal
speed as I wanted the picture to focus so it comes out in a good quality shot. The planning of having a photo-shoot consisting of
interior was okay as I had the right perspective of what I wanted. I also used the correct amount of lighting so it looked natural I
didn’t want the shots to be either over lit or under lit. I made sure I took many shots such as wide angles as in the media industry
text from different fashion brands for example will need space put titles, captions, other small images on the same main image. I
done wide shots purposely so I could fit “Teen Vogue” on my front page. I made sure when I was planning the space we was
going to use wasn’t packed with people or was being used. The final outcome came out good as I used all the techniques to
make the final shot come out at an acceptable standard. This helped as I set a shooting time and date, also a theme for clothing
for my shoot. This gave a good outcome as the photo-shoot went smoothly and the models knew what I wanted in my images
e.g. posing looking directly looking at the camera. The exterior images helped me get a authentic look for my theme which Is
fashion. It gave a unique but different look. I used the outside facilities in my college to get good exterior shots of my models. As
I had a nature setting on my canon setting it made it easy for me to get a good natural shot. The greenery was enhanced as well
as the models, the background made the shot even more sharp. I used the manual setting as I already got natural lighting from
the sun this made it easier for me to switch from manual to the nature setting. My exterior images came out fine as the natural
lighting really helped the colour become more enhanced e.g. the sky was a rich calming blue. One of my exterior shots consist of
a white background which was outside it gave a good clean background and a good back drop. As the model was wearing black
it made the main focus of the teenagers clothing come out. I used a wide shot so text could be included If I selected that images
for my main front cover picture. I made sure the lighting was not overwhelming, I also made sure my space was tidy so it looked
more organized. I also I made sure my angle of view was good and clear so no objects or anyone else that is not meant to be in
the shot was there. My final shots helped me and improved my photography as other images wasn’t up to the standard or did
not have any good quality. The final outcomes made it easier for me to select a main final image. After my trial shots the
outcome of my selected final shots made it clear there was an huge improvement. Next time I will improve my photography by
including more shots and also to make sure the shoot is clear from other people getting into the shot by accident. I will also try
to do something different other than fashion.
EVALUATION
The camera I used was a Canon 1300D it has good quality and gave out good shots. I was a good outcome in the end as majority of the shots
came out smooth and sharp. The shutter speed was normal as I didn’t want it to be too fast as I didn’t want an effect like that due to the shots
being for a Vogue magazine which needs focus. The aperture was good as the camera made sure if the picture needed more light it would do
so. The special thing about my canon camera is that it has a shutter priority & aperture priority (3D). The focus from my camera formed a clear
and sharply defined image. The framing made my image more aesthetically pleasing and it also will keep the viewer's focus on the framed
model in the shot. Mise en scene has been used in my images as my main theme for my model was to wear all black, ripped jeans, and a
distressed top. I wanted to give a edgy but appropriate look at the same time. The settings went well both interior and exterior as it was
planned well. The final setting I chose was an interior shot as I felt that it looked more appealing and comforting towards the audience. The
high key lighting went well as the interior final image had flash as the setting was on auto so this made the image come out focused and sharp.
The spacing of the final image was easy to organise as it was in college it went well as the model was a natural in doing different poses and
experiment with my different angles I took shots in. The composition of my final image was good as many of my friends said it came out defined
and at a good quality. Many people said it was a “good shot, very enhanced and eye-catching”. In my opinion the image came out visually
compelling, it evokes the interest of my target audience. I did not have no camera support, I used no tripod as I wanted to be flexible with my
model and I wanted to be comfortable taking as many different shots so I got a good majority of images to play with. In conclusion I feel that
my photoshoot went well as I tried as many different techniques as I can.
