This document outlines Jonathan Sheehan's plans for a photo shoot to create images for the front cover and feature article of an alternative music magazine called "Majestic." Majestic’ isa magazine whichisnotthe everyday stereotypical magazine. Like ‘CLASH’ itis
quite alternativeandconsists of popularartists, shinedinadifferentlight. The filtersand
style Iwill use withmymagazine will show this.
I wantthe magazine toappearas interestinganddifferentaspossibleandIbelieveIcan
do thisthroughthe way I editmyphotosand the use of my fontand stories.
Photographer:
I intend totake the photos myself usingaprofessionalcameratoget the bestquality Ican
apply to mymagazine. Iaim to use low cameraanglesto display dominancetothe person
beingphotographedanduse mediumshotstofitmostof theirbody in. I fell thisisthe
appropriate conventions asthisisthe same as what ‘CLASH’ hasusedand looksamazingin
the finished product. Mylightingwill be highkey sothatthe image iseasy to see and work
with. I intend tosoftenthe image wheneditingandapply avintage filtertomake the
photofitwiththe magazine.

I thinkthat the three examples of peopleabove wouldbe perfectformyfrontcoveras they
are all musiciconsand have a simplisticapproachtothe waythey have beenphotographed.

Thisis how I wantmy frontcover to look like.
Casting:
I feel like these people have andalternativelook aboutthemanditseems thatthey have a
mysterious look whichisexactlywhatIwantto interpretwithmyphotos. Iwill tryto do
these usingfacial expressions howeverIneedtorememberthatmymagazine will be
differenttothese. Iwill tryandmake my model look intothe cameradirectly buthavinghis
headdownat the same time. Myphotos will be eitherclose upsormediumshotstocreate a
personal relationshipbetweenthe model andthe reader.
Model requirements:
The personI want to star inmy magazine needs tohave blonde hairwithpale skintone. Tall
and skinny tofitthe same type of persononthe cover of CLASH magazine. There aren’tmany
blackpeople inalternativemusicdie tothe stereotype usually beingrapmusic. Alsoagainst
the photoshoot I have at setup, James(white male) will be easy toPhotoshop ontomyfront
cover.
Wardrobe and Look:
Jameswill be wearingablue cardiganwitha white t-shirt, minimumjewelry andblue jeans.
Thisis all that will be shownwithinthe photographs becauseall of themwill eitherbe close
upsor mediumshots.
Hair and Make up:
Jameswill dohisownhairthe way he normally doesit;he won’thave to wearmakeupunless
he seriously wantstoo. Hisnormal everyday style isalready perfectforthe role. HoweverIwill
have products on site if needs be suchas hairspray and concealer(make-up).

Where:
I will be takingthe photosintwodifferentlocations;one beingoutside myhouse asIhave a
wall of brickwork perfectforthe shotI want to take. The dark background compliments
James’ pale skinwell andthe areaisinfull lightprovidingperfectlighting. The second
locationwill be onWaltonHeathGolf Course as they have perfectscenery forthe
background formy close-ups. The landgoes onforagesand the grassis keptshortso it will
be really pleasantarea.
When:
I aimto take myphotos while itisstill autumnbecause the scenery will be frosty andthe
lightingwillbe brightasthe sun will be shininginfrontof the clouds, providingperfect
lighting. Ineedtomake sure that itwill still be autumnbecause Idon’twantthe area to be
muddy. Lightingisreally importanttome because ithelpscreate abetterpicture because
the camera isbetterat focusinginlighterconditions, alsoitwill helpwhen covering
blemishes andaddingfilters. Iwill getmyphotos takenNovember22nd
as thiswill allow me
