The proverbial 'celestial jukebox' has become a reality. With today's online music services a music fan is never more than a few clicks away from being able to listen to nearly any song that has ever been recorded. Recommender systems can play a key role in this new music ecosystem, helping listeners explore, discover, organize and share music. However, in many ways music recommendation is very different than recommendation in other well-studied domains such as books and movies. In this talk we explore how recommender systems can be used in the music space, and the particular challenges that the music domain presents to the designers of recommender systems.

Design 3 was the most preferred of the 3 designs by the 20 people surveyed, with 9 people choosing it. A graph shows Design 3 was rated highest. Based on this market research, Design 3 was determined to be the best front cover design for the digipak.
Digipak Analysis
This Digipak is for the artist Rihanna. It has a floral theme throughout which works well with Rihanna's personality. Bold colors are used to intrigue audiences. Rihanna's image stretches across the back panels to promote her. There is space for a lyric booklet. The main image on the cover may attract a new audience as it appears highly sexualized.
This second Digipak is for the band The Killers. It uses a bold, urban photographic style in greyscale with high contrast. An image of the band is repeated as a motif. The font style and positioning of the track listing on the back panel are effective. The masculine, high contrast images present the band's target audience
Shooting Script
The shooting script outlines a two day film shoot with no audio on the first day. Day one includes shots of Louise reacting to pulling back a curtain, Joe walking down the street playing guitar, an argument between Louise and Joe in the living room where he attempts to kiss her but she pushes him away, Joe sitting on the couch thinking and Louise appearing to exchange words before pushing him away again. Carol Vernallis - Music Video Theory
Carol Vernallis' theory focuses on 4 key concepts for analyzing music videos: Narrative, Editing, Camera Movement/Framing, and Diegesis. The narrative of a video may be partial or disjointed and reflect the song lyrics. Editing often disrupts continuity for effect. Camerawork relies on establishing shots, close-ups, and moving with the music. The diegesis or world of the video is revealed slowly through incomplete or disrupted actions and repeated frames that draw attention.

- 3. Results of my Target Audience Questionnaire The graph above is a simple representation of some results from my Target Audience. I conducted this questionnaire with 10 females and 10 males. This graph shows the age groups of females that I surveyed. Out of the age group of 21 – 25, 3 females said that their favourite genre of music was Indie. Whereas within the age group of 15 – 20 year old females 7 out of 10 said that ‘ Indie ‘ was their favourite genre of music. As you can see this Target Audience research, I have discovered that within a female age group of 15 – 20 year old females Indie is the modal genre that was chosen. Therefore our music video will represent the Indie genre.
