I finished the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. This book is about the
childhood experiences of a girl named Scout. The story takes place in the small town
of Maycomb, Alabama and struggling with racism. Scout must learn about the racism
and prejudices in the South. The book highlights the injustice of being black in the
southern court system. In this journal, I will be evaluating.
In to Kill a Mockingbird the theme walk in another s shoes is definite. Lee is able to
bring out this by using interactions between multiple characters. Scout grows as a
young lady as her relationships with the Cunninghams develop. One interaction
would be when the Cunninghams paid the Finches with goods instead of money.
Scout believed it was a bit unconventional and asked Atticus why they did it that
way. Atticus knowing the value of this teaching moment was able to explain that
they could not do any better. This way of paying was the only way that was
available for them. Some men may have not wanted to do business with a person like
him, but Atticus stepped in his shoes. This helped him understand the situation more
clearly. Another time this theme made its presence was when Walter Cunningham
went over to Scout s house for lunch. When he ate lunch at their house Scout
shamed him by the way he ate. Calpurnia being a person who valued learning like
Atticus took this moment to teach Scout. She explained that Scout needs to step in
his shoes and realize that he grew up differently. No matter who they are they should

This summer, I read the book The Dead by Charlie Higson is a novel about a large
group of kids, left to live by themselves without guidance from their parents. In this
run down setting of London, England, people who are over the age of 16 turn into
kid hunting, flesh eating zombies. The younger kids are forced to live on their
own, fighting for life against the wrath of the Adults. The message Higson showed
in his book is: after people are forced to rely on themselves without experience, their
lack of experience and knowledge will lead them to failure.
In the novel, the kids face constant fear and by telling the story from a 3rd person
omniscient point of view, Higson can really show how they are forced to only
appeal their need for survival. The adults are a mysterious entity to the kids. Since

Introduction
In this paper I will discuss the industry structure and the behavior of firms in the
Personal Computer Industry. The personal computer industry has five leaders:
Compaq Computer Corporation (CCC), Dell Computer Corporation, International
Business Machines (IBM), Hewlett Packard, and Gateway, (Industry Survey, Apr.
2000). The PC industry, as discussed in the paper, is comprised only of home

line, CCC s stock price has sat down in the low $30 s,(Hamblen 1). Competition is
increasing daily and Compaq needs to distinguish itself in the marketplace. They ve

Dell Computer Corporation, the second leading computer manufacturer, began by
selling PC s directly to consumers. Their first customers ordered over the phone and

excelled, but until recently, the profitable company was not so profitable in the

growing PC market. This has forced competitors to be very careful about pricing in
this highly elastic industry. Dell s profitability is also notable, since it has minimal

Terrorism And Discrimination Against Terrorism
The history of terrorism is as old as humans willingness to use violence to affect
politics. Terrorism can affect everyone, whether directly or indirectly. However, a
group that is largely affected is immigrants, mainly due to the U.S. policies on
Counter Terrorism. These policies might protect our country, but they also indirectly
lead to discrimination against immigrants. The U.S. policy on Counter Terrorism
causes unfair immigration laws, encourages social media to demonize foreigners, and
creates an unfair society for immigrants to live in. Immigrants suffer at the hand of
our nation s unfair immigration laws. Terrorism causes immigration laws to become
even more strict in order to prevent terrorists from entering our country. However,
according to ABC More federal funds are available for immigration enforcement and
deportations, even though those efforts seem to do almost nothing to prevent
terrorism. (Hesson). The efforts to tighten immigration laws do almost nothing to
prevent terrorism because the majority of immigrants aren t terrorists, they are just
people wanting to improve their lives by coming to the U.S. By treating all
immigrants as potential terrorists we are discriminating against them and creating a
bias standard. Americans need to remember that not all immigrants are terrorists and
by holding them to this standard we are creating a social injustice. One way that
Americans are influenced to view immigrants as terrorists is through social media.

There is a need for many types of group counseling in this civilization that we live in
ranging from task/ work groups, psychoeducational groups, counseling groups and
psychotherapy groups. Groups can defined by the collection of two or more
individuals who meet face to face or virtually in an interactive, interdependent way,
with the awareness that each belongs to the group and for the purpose of achieving
mutually agreed upon goals (Gladding, 2012). As a High School counselor, the

their ethics and morals. This theory describe the moral, ethical, and societal
