The National Taichung Theater in Taiwan was designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito to resemble a coral reef. It has three theaters within organically sloping halls formed by a three dimensional grid that has been sculpted into an irregular shape. The curved concrete walls were poured into a prefabricated steel cage and hand-plastered. Ito drew inspiration from natural formations like rocks and caves to create a building that provides a soft respite within the city through its symbiotic relationship with nature.

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
The oldest building still in use in the world is the Pantheon in Rome. It was built in 117 AD, nearly 2000 years old. It must look a bit odd when it was first completed. The building is round and has an enormous dome on top. Looking at its exterior now it may not look much, but it is still one of the most admired buildings in the world, mainly because of its age and the construction technique used in the building. I wonder if any of our iconic buildings today would survive as long. Would they still appear as aesthetically pleasing as they are now?
The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is such an iconic building today. It has become the landmark of the city of Bilbao. Just like the Tower Bridge to London, the Statue of Liberty to New York, and the Eiffel Tower to Paris. In this sense the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao is a big success. Nobody can take that away. Not only has the building shown us the use of new construction technique and the use of new material, it was also completed on time and within budget. I was not sure how to look at the building before my visit. But after looking at it, I think it is a great building and a piece of architectural art.

Tadao Ando's Koshino House and Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water both seek to harmoniously integrate architecture with nature through different spatial designs. Koshino House uses concrete walls and timber floors to divide interior and exterior spaces, employing light and shadow to immerse occupants in nature. Falling Water cantilevers over a waterfall using concrete and glass, blurring boundaries between interior and exterior to flow nature freely inside. Both architects emphasize the relationship between humans and nature through their choice and use of materials.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 1. BIO MIMICRY NATIONAL TAICHUNG THEATER NAME: SEERAT-UL-UROOJ ROLL # : D-15-AR-30

INTRODUCTION The National Taichung Theater is an opera house in the Taichung’s 7th Redevelopment Zone in the Xitun District of Taichung, TAIWAN It was designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito in collaboration with Cecil Balmond The free-form structure houses three theatres of varying capacities within its organically sloping halls. The eight storey venue is based on a three dimensional grid, which has been shifted and sculpted into an irregular form reflective of a coral reef. The construction technique was ideal for its complexity – the curved walls of are made of concrete, poured into a prefabricated steel cage with three layers of mesh on either side, which was then hand-plastered to achieve the surface texture required for the interiors. In addition to using sustainability concepts, green construction inside and out gives rise to a natural order. This building creates a cultural life, once again creating an aesthetic that promotes a symbiotic relationship between humans and the natural world.
