The National Aquatics Center in Beijing, also known as the "Water Cube", hosted swimming and diving events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. The building's unique design was inspired by soap bubbles, featuring a bubble-like exterior structure composed of over 6,700 tons of steel. The translucent ETFE membrane exterior allows natural light to filter through while also making the building appear as if floating bubbles. With a capacity of 17,000, the National Aquatics Center provided world-class facilities for hosting Olympic water sports events in Beijing.
