An Assessment of Project Portfolio Management Techniques on Product and Servi...
The crises of product and service innovation in most organisations due to global competition and
the need for scientific research in the project portfolio management discipline were factors that motivated this
research. The purpose of this study is to investigate how project portfolio management(ppm) contributes to
product and service innovation. A questionnaire was developed to gather data to compare the PPM methods
used, PPM performance and resulting new product success measures in sixty Nigeria organisations in a diverse
range of service and manufacturing industries. The study findings indicated that PPM practices have a greater
impact in the new product and services success rate. Also, business strategy method result in better alignment
of the projects in the portfolio. This conclusion is supported by the 0.630 Pearson correlations at 0.000
significance between percentage of successful products and PPM performance level. The results reveal that for
better innovation outcomes, management should place a priority on developing and improving PPM.

A Review Of Program And Project Evaluation Models
This paper reviews program and project evaluation models through a systematic literature review. 57 evaluation models were identified and categorized according to key descriptive features. While past research focused on project management approaches to deliver outputs on time and budget, evaluation models are now more important to assess both intended and unintended long-term effects of programs and projects. A comprehensive understanding of evaluation models provides a basis for selecting the most appropriate model and effectively evaluating programs and projects.

1. Knowledge management (KM) at law firms involves managing various types of knowledge resources to support lawyers' work, including precedents, forms, document templates, and current awareness services. It also includes cultural change programs, learning programs, taxonomy design, and other initiatives.
2. To implement an effective KM strategy, a firm must articulate the goals and strategic choices around what knowledge to manage, how to acquire and share it, and how KM connects to the firm's overall business strategy. This helps engage both supporters and skeptics of KM.
3. Evaluating a KM program requires both quantitative and qualitative measures that match the goals, such as usage statistics, surveys, and collecting stories.
Implementing Sustainable Digital Preservation
There has been a lot of investment and activity in digital preservation over the last decade and a lot of it has been supported by grant funded activity and research projects. The ‘learn by doing’ approach and the prodigious number of beta systems and project reports have all played their part in helping to mature the digital preservation field - and judging by the changing tone of conferences over the years, the community has come a long way. So far - in fact - that a lot of organisations are now at the stage when theory is less important than action. They need to work out the best implementation paths and make procurement choices.
So the economic landscape for digital preservation has shifted and the onus is now on many organisations to look closely at their needs and their objectives and to make investment choices that are sustainable as part of the business needs of their organisation rather than as an adjunct activity that is supported by ‘soft’ research money. Work being taken forward by the 4C Project is looking at providing resources to support organisations to make sustainable digital preservation investment choices and this webinar will describe some of that work.
But budgets are hard to secure and digital preservation remains a difficult case to argue so collaboration with like-minded organisations and the establishment of shared services should support the arguments and drive down the cost. This is one of the core messages that underpins the Aligning National Approaches to Digital Preservation (ANADP) initiative and this will also be described and explained during the webinar.
