1. Survivor Activity
Description: In this assignment we got into small groups and worked together as a team. We were given
a list of people and our task was to decide who to keep out of the list and who to kill in the hypothetical
situation. Then, we were to explain why we kept certain people and killed others. The situation was that
we could only keep four people to develop a new society for Earth.
These were the people who were to be decided on:
-A Dr. (B)
-A pregnant mom with her five year old girl (G)
-A professor (G)
-A hippie couple (Both)
-An old person (G)
-A disabled person (G)
-A welfare dependent (G)
-A priest (B)
-An army person (B)
-A lawyer (B)
-A scientist (G)
The results:
As a group we decided to keep the following: the Dr., the pregnant woman and her daughter, and the
professor. We kept these people because the Dr. probably has some medical background so he can help
sick people and the pregnant woman is obviously fertile so she can help re -populate the society along
with both of her children later on down the road. As for the professor they will have a general
knowledge of most subjects and can help teach this developing society. We chose to kill the hippies, the
welfare dependent, and the old person because they would most likely be lazy and present little help for
the community. We got rid of the disabled person due to the fact that we didn't know there disability so
we weren't sure how helpful they would be. As for the priest we killed him because we weren't sure
how needed he would be in this desperate time as people will be focused on other issues. The army
person wasn't going to be much help because we probably won't be at war, and the lawyer and scientist
were not immediately needed.
