The survey results show that YouTube and social interaction
(through friends) are the most popular ways of finding out about
new music. I will ensure that my magazine informs readers about
these ways by adding YouTube links and social networking pages
that they can follow so they can find out about new music even
quicker, it also causes publicity for my magazine as by doing this
it can achieve many followers.

How much would you pay
for a music magazine?

The majority of people said they would prefer the colour house
style to be red, black and white. The black and red suit the
characteristics of the type of music artists that will feature in the
music magazine and also the characteristics of the target
audience, for example red connoting danger may resemble the
stereotypical rebellion of the target audience.

The data results show that the majority of the target audience
would pay £1-£3 for a music magazine. This is due to the fact that
most of them have very little money due to them living a student
lifestyle and paying for their education. The magazine will be
made so that it is an affordable for the audience and good value
for money.

Half of the audience that answered the questionnaire agreed that
the most appealing part of a magazine was the information given
about up and coming artists, new music and festivals etc. This
means I will have to ensure my magazine includes this
information. A large percentage also agreed that free giveaways
are important; I could put the two together advertising a music
festival/artists tour whilst giving away tickets for the event.

Conclusion
In conclusion, this survey has helped me gain better knowledge and understanding of
the audiences’ needs and identification. When producing my final product I will ensure
to include the results that I have concluded in each paragraph. It is essential for me to
include this as otherwise my music magazine may be unsuccessful and not attract my
target audience.

  • 1. How do you find out about new music? I will ensure that my magazine informs readers about these ways by adding YouTube links and social networking pages that they can follow so they can find out about new music even quicker, it also causes publicity for my magazine as by doing this it can achieve many followers. How much would you pay for a music magazine? The majority of people said they would prefer the colour house style to be red, black and white. The black and red suit the characteristics of the type of music artists that will feature in the music magazine and also the characteristics of the target audience, for example red connoting danger may resemble the stereotypical rebellion of the target audience. What most appeals you to purchase a music magazine? Information on new music/festivals/artists etc £1-£3 The images featured £3.50-£5 £5.50-£7 Freebies (e.g. posters, tickets, CD) £7.50+ The data results show that the majority of the target audience would pay £1-£3 for a music magazine. This is due to the fact that most of them have very little money due to them living a student lifestyle and paying for their education. The magazine will be made so that it is an affordable for the audience and good value for money. Half of the audience that answered the questionnaire agreed that the most appealing part of a magazine was the information given about up and coming artists, new music and festivals etc. This means I will have to ensure my magazine includes this information. A large percentage also agreed that free giveaways are important; I could put the two together advertising a music festival/artists tour whilst giving away tickets for the event. Conclusion In conclusion, this survey has helped me gain better knowledge and understanding of the audiences’ needs and identification. When producing my final product I will ensure to include the results that I have concluded in each paragraph. It is essential for me to include this as otherwise my music magazine may be unsuccessful and not attract my target audience.
