1. Survey Monkey Evaluation
I chose specific people to do my questionnaire
rather than just posting it on a social
networking site to gain a better range of
results.

2. Question 1
As the results show I only asked the female gender because I was aiming my
magazine towards that gender as of myself being female. This question is very bias
which makes my results for the whole questionnaire bias too. I asked this question to
gain knowledge of what gender was actually taking the questionnaire but obviously I
sent it out to just female.
3. Question 2
This question was a vital one just because if I know the age range that has answered
my questionnaire then I can attempt to assume what they would like within a
magazine. The results clearly show that between the age of 10-13 was the highest
age range which took my questionnaire this means I can definitely know what to
include on my magazine to suite them as that is around the target audience that I’m
trying to reach.
4. Question 3
These magazines are all aimed at different age groups which is why I specifically chose them
to see which one they would choose. My clear results show that smash hits is the most liked
or known out of them all which would mean that the people I asked are young and into the
more modern pop style. The magazine which came in second popular is Billboard which is
still modern but is more for the older teen around aged 16+, also I would say that the
magazine Vibe is about the same target audience although none of my applicants chose that
as an option and last of all the classic pop magazine is more of an 80’s music magazine from
the pop genre which just tells you about all the elder bands what were and that are still
about today.
5. Question 4
The names chosen were a few which I wanted to call my magazine which is why I asked
which one is their favourite to help me choose although as I was doing this questionnaire
after I thought up a better name which is what my magazine is now called which is nothing
to do with any of these now. The results show that the name ‘Rave up’ is popular to call a
pop magazine, which was my favourite too at first, secondly they thought popularity was
another good idea which wasn’t so bad just didn’t do it for me. Lastly ‘maniac mag’ got one
vote which means obviously that it’s the least popular and ‘temperature’ never got any
votes leaving it to be not a very good choice for a magazine name.
6. Question 5
This question was important as I was curious to what colours to use for my own
magazine as the colour scheme is important for any magazine. This question has a
clear result that pastel colours are a winner for my pop magazine which I will try to
incorporate within my magazine. The second top answer was bright, bold and
summery which I may combined pastel colours with the bright and bold colours just
so that I have that unique look about my magazine. The autumn colours got one vote
which is interesting at they can be quite dark colours for such a light topic. Dull,
boring and smart got no votes which I’m glad as I don’t think any magazine should be
dull, boring and smart.
7. Question 6
The price range that got the most votes as you can see is ‘£1-£2’ which means my
magazine price will be within that price range. The second highest voted price is
£2.50- £3 which means that if the magazine is a good quality then readers are willing
to pay more. Lastly surprised that one of my selected people would pay £3.50-£4 for
a magazine of the pop music genre. This question has now given me an overview as
to what price mine shall be marked.
8. Question 7
For this question you had to order what you would most like to see in my popular music
magazine, the columns left to right is how many times they got picked to be in that order.
Our most preferred thing to be in the magazine is competitions which is highlighted in the
first column with at least three people choosing this to be their top preference in my
magazine. Second thing most preferred was a tie between interviews and brain teasers
which will definitely feature in my magazine. Thirdly was a clear winner of reviews which
isn’t so bad next is going to be where they are now as reviews has a higher count so they are
going third. After where they are now will be related articles then lastly will be band’s
favourite food which wasn’t so popular with my selected people.
9. Question 8
I didn’t know when to issue my magazine so I thought that is would be good to find
out in my questionnaire which has now narrow down my time just it’s now a tie
between weekly and monthly. The results were 50% both ways leaving yearly without
any votes. All that I need to figure out is if it’s going to be issued monthly or weekly,
monthly seems more logical as you can say a lot on a month but may be not as much
in a week which you want the magazine to be filled with lots of different and good
things which if it was monthly you could quite easily get.
10. Question 9
The results of this question are that the main adverts that need to feature in a pop
magazine will need to be food and/or make-up if I’m appealing to girls although if the
adverts don’t appeal to my target audience then they will not be featured. Second
advert that was popular was perfume, lastly with only one vote car adverts which
wouldn’t necessarily be associated with a popular music magazine. This question has
now told me what sort of magazine adverts need to be featured within a pop
magazine of my target audience.
